Both are school comedies in a 4-koma format. Very similar humor and the inspiration from Azumanga Daioh is very clear in Nichijou. Nichijou is far more episodic and has some sci-fi elements, but the overall feel is the same.

They are both slice of life comedies, have the same author, have a similar style of absurdist humour, and have an almost identical art style. It would probably be accurate to describe City as a spiritual successor to Nichijou - My Ordinary Life. These factors lead me to believe that if you like one, you'll like the other.

Both of these titles are standalone slice-of-life narratives that depict, in an extraordinary and exaggerated manner, the daily lives of highschoolers. Moreover, both titles share very similar narrative styles; particularly in regard to how comedy is achieved.

If you're looking for something equally as light-hearted, I recommend Nichijou: there's more comedy and it gets a little weird at times, but like Yotsubato!?, all of the characters are lovable, and you can pick it up at any point due to a lack of 'plot' - each new chapter brings a new story.

Both titles are slice-of-life comedies that involve the normal yet random lives of students.

A lot of comedic events and misunderstandings. Similarish humor and have a main cast but also occasionally focuses on the side characters. Both are a fun read.

Both of these titles are random comedies mostly set within a school setting.

Both are really comedic, it is a good manga to read if you're tired of actions or romance and need a break. I guarantee that you will laugh a lot in aho girls, the characters are all funny and weird. If you're not able to stand a bit of ecchi humor, i don't reccomend this

- An android girl (Kurumi for NullMeta and Nano for Nichijou) - Both primarily comedy mangas, though NullMeta relies on more modern day references (and has swearing in it) To quote a reader I know, "It's nichijou with dirty mouthed zoomer high schools girls"

Both are hajike as fuck. The absolute randomness with bits of otaku humor sprinkled on top make both of these series ideal for somebody who loves Japanese culture and gag comedy. While the stories and "plot" don't exactly match up, the content is extraordinarily similar at times. I'm genuinely surprised these weren't recommended prior.

Both have similar art styles and robots trying to keep their identity a secret. They make you say "Wut" and make you want to keep reading. They are about very different things, but are both super enjoyable.

Both tells comedy between high school girl and her best friends in an extraordinary and exaggerated manner. Chio chan comedies are more often involving game and nichijou comedy is sometime too.

Both of these titles boast similar narrative and art styles. Expect to get a chuckle or two.

Slice-of-life comedy titles that primarily follow the daily lives of students. Expect seemingly normal circumstances to be responded to by an exaggerated thought or action.

Apart from the fact that both Hakase and Hatsume are inventors, both are gag manga with comedic elements of a similar and random nature.
reportRecommended by Sorghaghtani
Both of these narratives share a strong comedic focus that is primarily driven by random circumstances and the exaggerated responses that they entail.
reportRecommended by radiantfire
Slice-of-life comedies that follow the daily lives of a variety of characters (a hero and a villian in Sunred, and students in Nichijou).

Though Nichijou is not an anthology, the sense of humor feels incredibly similar, this particular one I find can keep my short attention span hooked. Plus, each chapter is a new self-contained miniature story with comedy as the focal point just as much of Terrarium in Drawer.
