While mostly known as a pioneer of cinematic paneling and close attention to realism, it would be more accurate to consider gekiga as a counterculture. Surrealistic, autobiographical, and experimental works emerged as an alternative to the Tezuka school of aesthetics and paved the way for other artists to different modes of expression. - No stuff thats horror only because of gore or shock factor(So sorry to say but no devilman and TG) List of sleeves for "elitist". Each title has its own set of trigger warnings, I suggest looking them up on mangaupdates for more detailed tags. The term "denpa" means electromagnetic wave and is used to refer to people whit strange beliefs or delusions. In manga, the denpa genre often includes motifs of technology, character's who are outsiders in mundane environments, and a surrealistic, but often dark, tone. Common themes include dissconecton from one's surroundings, anxiety, and paranoia. Many denpa stories fall into the horror genre, but a manga doesn't have to be scary or depressing to be denpa. |
