both are very dramatic, and have a "drilled in the head of somebody"-setting, and the chara-development is interesting but there are 2 big differnce: 1. heads is a love-story 2. in homunculus, the guy get a "sixth sense" after the operation, in heads he gets a "second personality"

Both stories involve a protagonist, originally meek and kind, who suddenly has to deal with another form of themselves, who is violent; their existence to the original "them" is intimidating and terrifying. Their alternate ego begins to take over the parts of their own life they took for granted.

The main characters suddenly were involved with severe criminal acts, without being the true culprit. Still, it continues to haunt them. They are anxious about other people finding out the secrets they do not want to get leaked. *Great psychological manga!

• Society drives the protagonist to insanity • Existential crisis • Deals with repercussions when the medial ethics are breached • Protagonist struggles to produce/acquire love • Amazing artwork (Tetsuo and Junichi look alike)

The main characters in these manga have undergone a change in their bodies due to certain doctors who think they can cover it all up, but they are gravely mistaken. The victim's life has been screwed totally. <>Heads: the procedure was vital to save his life, Kirihito Sanka: purely out of spite

Although the two are not highly similar, the general premise of Heads is akin to particular situations in Franken Fran.

Both of these titles revolve around male protagonists who try to change the direction of their lives when given a second chance to live. However, they are constantly haunted by the memories of the past.

Both mangas are psychological, and explores the human mind. They are both drawn by the same artist (but written by different authors), so they look the same.

Both are very dark and show the mental change of one person. They almost have the same amount of chapters.
