This story honestly disappointed me... when I saw this story labeled as a "hot read" I though I would give it a shot~ -and this is what I was presented with.

story- Very predictable, nothing unexpected, in fact every time something happened I though to myself, "saw that coming". There is nothing original in this story. The pace is slow and I got board. I only kept reading because I was hoping the plot might actually do something!

art- The art was fine, although... most of the girls looked really similar to each other and that kinda bugged me. -but the art was decent.

characters- (below) v

Shuusei- This ... is the male main character in the story. He is cold, uncaring, and dense. Later on though, he develops feelings for Aoi. He becomes a little protective at times and he teases her a lot. 17 chapter in and still next to no development on his part.

Aoi- Our female lead on the other hand is nice, good at cooking, naive, and caring. She has a good personality... other then the part where SHE CANT MAKE UP HER MIND. First few chapters she hates Shuusei, then he moves in next door. Now she kinda likes him but tells herself it wont work. So she wants him to keep his distance, then she wants him closer, back and forth! She's also really easily manipulated be other people to the point where it pathetic...

Overall, I was really disappointed with this manga. So if you looking for a shallow and predictable romance shoujo then look no further. =D

I can't describe my disappointment. First chapter seemed really good so I was glad to find a shoujo manga as good as this. But after a couple of chapters it turned a pathetic story I've ever read. I just can't see love between the main characters.

Story - Cliche.

Art - Well, not bad.

Characters - There is a guy that is called "Prince" in his school, he's handsome, cool but bothersome. And also self- centered. And there is a stupid girl who is in love with him. That's all.

Enjoyment - I don't feel like reading this anymore but I hate to leave things halfway.

I LOVE THIS MANGA! I am a shoujo maniac and romance maniac and I check this manga everyday for updates. Its typical romance yes but it has what I want: hot guy who's hard to understand but sweet, nice girl who doesn't cry all the time, good art, great romance scenes, EVERYTHING a shoujo maniac needs. :D

Story:
Yes, we've encountered this many times before, girl and the prince of the school living together but there's sexual tension almost immediately and the guy has a wicked sense of humor and the girl is cute, plus new characters are introduced often who are fun and have ... their bad points in their own way.

Art:
Pretty nice art in my eyes. Very detailed, cute, hot. What more can I say?

Character:
The characters are pretty ok. Shuusei is a bit hard to understand but I'm hoping future chapters reveal something about his past. Aoi is not a typical cry baby so I'm happy about that too. She's a little indecisive but hey, no body's perfect.


Enjoyment: I enjoy this series very much. Each moment makes me squeal though now, in later chapters, there is a little more drama.

Overall, great manga for shoujo lovers.

I haven't made a review in months but just came back just to give people a warning and basically a whole signal flag waving review to stay clear unless you like feeling like a idiot for still reading. First off, I definitely didn't read through all of this and skipped to most important parts but I still got a great understanding of the entire thing.

Story 5/10: Now... the story isn't bad at all it's your regular shoujo type situation of people living together and they fall in love. I love shoujo romance manga and it's one of my favourites to read but this... this I ... couldn't stomach it. I'll explain more later but the story wasn't bad and wasn't original but it was mediocre.

Art 6/10: I like this type of art and is seem decent to review apart from not knowing who anyone was because most of the girls looked the same if they didn't have different coloured air.

Character 2/10: Now this... The characters made this unbearable honestly. First we have the MC male, I understand the shy, loner, not feelings type MC and I actually like it and his character development was good and it showed him come out of his shell after the death of his childhood first love. Now the female on the other hand... She is just down right stupid! For a romance manga where you'd assume being shoujo there'd be one rival right? But there's like freaking 5 of them?! It's like every character in the entire manga fell in love with her and get this right... Most of them kissed her! I swear out of the 5 dudes that fell for her all of them kissed her and I am not even joking. Best part the MC male did bugger all about it. It pissed me off how stupid, dimwitted and dense this girl was. Worst female MC I've seen ina while. Also as said half the cast for the manga fell in love with the girl, like the girl is not a goddess why is everyone falling for her?!

Overall: Didn't enjoy it as much as I thought I would even after reading the past reviews. Honestly... STAY AWAY FROM THIS.

Okay, like every one else here, I was dissapointed.
Story: Pathetic
I am a shoujo addict. I only read shoujo. And I can say I've seen better. It's too predictable and common. No unseen twists, no unseen changes...
If you usually read shoujo, you will see the future of the plot coming only by reading the summary.

Art: Decent
The boys are handsome but girls totally suck.

Character: Poor
The heroine is naive, caring, takes in a boy in her house, she starts to like him then she gets jelous... you know the story.
The main boy is too rude and mean on the girl, even though she let ... him stay in her house.
The other characters don't appear much.

Enjoyment: Mediocre
Well, if you've got no other choice, read it. It's not like it's not worth reading. It's true I've seen better but I've seen worse, too.

Overall: Decent
The reason why my scores are so bad it's because the girl is so so powerless. I hate weak heroines. I hate the fact she clings on to him and she doesnt say anything when he clearly makes fun of her. He is freaking staying in her room for free. If he is mean, kick him out. (Yea, I know he is staying there because she burned her room but still he had no right to go there. Just because she burnt two mats doesnt mean her appartment is now his)

to be honest, i really have no idea how did this manga made it up to one of the most popular in so many manga sites...

Overall: 5/10

wouldn't recommend to those who are looking for unique plots and those who are hoping for plot twists [ there are hardly any seen so far in the story ]

for those who are looking for the typical love story shoujo manga style, with the girl still liking the lead even though there is someone 100 times better in front of them, this story is for you! just don't think too deep into the story, because ... there really isn't that much to think about, and don't anticipate too much for exciting unexpected changes and twists.


Story : 4/10

the story is your typical shoujo manga unrealistic love story where this main male lead is a good looking yet has the worst personality that heavily need to be ironed out and a female lead who loves the male lead but due to some reason they aren't together then after a big large circle, with other male characters trying to date the female lead, the girl still loves the lead male and they end up [so far] together again.....

honestly, the manga is just trying to toss those to leading characters together, and is taking as long as it could possibly take in doing so...
the story is good at the beginning, but then things start getting repetitive. first someone tries to steal the female lead, didn't succeed, then after some time later, another guy comes along and does the exact same thing =.=
i wouldn't mind as much if the story did went another way, and the girl ended up with someone else but the story is so predictable, we all know it's not going to happen...

Art : 8/10
no complain here, the drawings are really good, not with weird looking people that have strange proportions . the background is well done and that's pretty much it.
didn't rate it full marks though because it wasn't quite my style

the characters do have individual personalities that were portrayed pretty well, the characters are unique from each other so it's not too bad.
the few complains i have is the boring development that is once again, too predictable that makes the story boring...
though the one character that did slightly surprise me was wataru [second male lead in the second half?] that did have some more interesting development, but since it's the leads we are seeing most of the time... well it just gets boring.

Bad manga.

I kept seeing pictures of this manga on IG & Pinterest & it seemed like it was a good manga but it turns out that it wasn't.

[STORY]
The story tries so hard to be linear but it has these subplots that are either irrelevant or just feel like a filler.
The plot really lacks in substance. It tries to give you something deep then it ends up just being stupid or the character over-thinking something when it was literally not even their fault.

FOR EX...I won't go into detail because of spoiler reasons but there's this 1 dude that comes in & claims he likes the ... girl for an entire chapter then he just disappears.
Where did you go my friend.
What was the point of bringing someone in if he wasn't even part of the main competition to be with the girl? I just--what.

Point-blank, the story-line is very poor. Jumps around from this to that SOO randomly & fast.
It's almost as if the mangaka wanted to include every single shoujo scenario in there so she jumped from this to that just to get to that point.
I don't even get why the main characters are THIS attracted to each other, that's how poor the storyline is.

Decent art. Not cute (I don't mean like sugar & sparkles cute I mean aesthetically cute...yaknow...?). Not amazing. Not unique. Not dull. Not ugly. Just...decent.
You can definitely tell the mangaka's art style by the eyes so it has some marker that it's not your general shoujo manga look.

Hate them. I just...I couldn't bring myself to like ANY of them.
Not the friend, who gave up way too easily. Unrealistic. Not the girl, she's just so...dependent & useless. Nothing likable about her. Your typical stupid (I gotta be honest.) shoujo girl who fell deeply in love...real fast. For no reason.
The boy...my gosh. So....illogical.
The family members? Don't even get me started.

I usually like the 2nd guys (the one who starts the love triangle) but this guy was just too nice to let the girl go. Too nice makes it too unrealistic.
And I know it's a manga but...if you read it you'd understand.

You know...I don't know WHY I kept reading if I didn't enjoy it.
I REALLY did not like it & I wish I had stopped myself before I got near the end but I somehow got myself that deep into the manga that I was just like "You know what, I MIGHT AS WELL JUST TOUGH IT OUT & FINISH THIS PREDICTABLE MANGA."

The guy, due to some circumstances, has to move in with the girl then moves back to his place BUT WAIT the mangaka decides to bring him back into her place due to a really idiotic circumstance.
What.

I think that was the chapter where a dude randomly came in & claimed he really liked the main character then disappeared after the main male moved back in with the main female.

This is where I lost complete faith in this manga BECAUSE...
1. Why bring in a dude then just have him disappear. WHY. WHAT.
2. WHY have him move out then back in THAT fast. Either completely have him move out or completely have him move in. OR...have a larger time gap between the move in/out's.

If you like typical characters. Illogical characters. A jumpy predictable story-line.
Then here you go. Here is the perfect manga for you.

I don't normally write reviews, but this story disappointed me to the point where I needed to vent my frustrations. I finished it in hopes that it would get better, but it left me feeling mad and that I wasted my time.

I don't even know what to say but that everything was severely frustrating. The characters, plots, story-line, romance, everything was just so frustrating. I wasn't ever convinced of the romance, connection, or decisions made. Steer-clear if you want something that's going to make you happy, sappy, or deeply-moved.

Nobody had any real character development, their back-stories were predictable and yet unconvincing, and there was absolutely ... no reason for it to be nearly 100 chapters.

The only thing I can commend it on is the artwork, but even then, the thought bubbles were hard to follow along with who was saying what exactly, which only pulled me out of the story further. With such an interesting storyline, I had higher hopes it would satisfy me, but now I've got a sour taste in my mouth and I'm nervous to pick up another and suffer a similar disappointment.

This manga could be described as the epitome of shoujo manga cliches and story lines. If you are after a shoujo manga that revolves dependently on two characters than perhaps it may be worth the read.

I liked the first few chapters however the story began to lag and the female lead within the current chapters becomes desperate and needy. Its a set-back to any who believe in feminism and strong women characters.

Another little wince of an issue was the constant stills of blank expression and then a close up of a teary eye with a sobby phraze next to it.

Good but not ... great

This manga certainly follows a few typical shojo themes, ie boy meets girl, girl at first hates guy but then likes him, girl doing everything to hide that she likes him.

However they were some aspects that kept me interested. The characters for example felt real. The main female is your average female teenager with conflicating emotions and the male lead is practically unreadable and you can never understand what he's thinking.

I think its worth the read because I found it easy to get drawn into. The only disappointing aspect was that the story line did seemed to be lacking in a specific direction.

I like this shoujo - its not typical and is a real page turner!
Overall, I was SURPRISED by how much I liked it!!!!! It definitely was NOT what I was expecting.

I read it throughout, completely and was only disappointed that I had already gotten to 50. (I binge read and hate waiting for updates!)
I'm very picking about shoujo mangas - yet I love them. I feel like the characters are genuine, and the main protagonist (the girl) isn't whiney at all. In fact, she's a real fighter and I love that. She'll hit him. >=) I love how she sticks to her guns. ...
She isn't ditsy either, which is nice. She's a likeable protagonist.
The male character, he isn't unlikeable either. He treats her right, despite teasing her often. He obviously cares very deeply for her. They both learn to conquer their character flaws together; as well as their bad habits.
The female protagonist at first was very cowardly, but so was the male. Despite this, they eventually grow out of that. I mean, you don't want perfect characters right off the bat - that isn't realistic.
I would've given the character rating an 8; I mean, I'm not disappointed with either of them at all. However, there's still more developing to do and I don't want to be biased because of how much I'm enjoying it right now. In a special way, I'm being optimistic with low-balling it. (I bet your laughing right now)

My rating:
I used math to determine the overall mean of my rating. The number very well, could be much higher than I calculated once she's finished the work. As for art, I don't know much about it, so I just gave it a 9. I had no complaints! The art satisfied me, and I liked it very much! I focus more on plot and character development; though, admittedly if I don't like the art, I won't even pick it up.

Although she initially hates him for this, when Shuusei moves in next door to Aoi, who lives alone, she starts thinking that he might not be such a bad guy after all..
And the main story begins when he comes to live with her . * all the kawaii moments *
There will be many moments when you will feel irritated as the story ... might turn nasty but anyway you will enjoy their kawaii moments . This manga is full of romance

btw , Ifirst saw the live action movie and then found this manga n believe me manga is much better than the movie ..no doubt the movie is kawaii but still..

Pros: The art, the drawing was alright, even good at times

Cons: The story, the heroine is naive, frustratingly so. At one point a love interest forces his way into the heroines apartment, demanding to spend the night, and the reaction is ''oh, alright'', despite the two never having spoken more that two words to each other. The entire situation felt creepy and rapey, it felt like the prelude to a criminal story. At this point i felt no compassion for the heroine, and though of both the love interests so far as selfish and obnoxious.

Can't recommend this to anyone really, probably better to read Kimi ... no Todoke if you are looking for romance.

This manga may be a hit or a miss for some. But personally, I do love it. It started out as pretty much like other cliche shoujo drama out there but once you get past by the 1st arc ( a bit messy), things will get better.

I personally think that it takes some crafty writer to be able to constantly pound the two main leads with tons of challenges without compromising the foundation of the story which is the love between the two. I super enjoyed reading how their love grew from the usual chasing game to thinking about their future as individuals and as ... a couple.

Overall, I think the strength of this manga lies when the two leads are together. Individually, both the leads may kinda seem the typical shoujo leads but together, undeniably - their chemistry is one of the best.

Story 6/10
If you are able to tolerate the first 20-30 chapters, it does get better. Well, actually, its a bit weird because the manga starts off very interesting, then it just becomes stale, where things don't really progress at all. However, the story does pick up and gets more interesting. Cliché? yes. Predictable, yes? But if you are reading a Shoujo, those two are expected adjectives. I did find refreshing that majority of characters were able to go beyond the apparent cultural boundaries/shyness/politeness of Japanese people and were able to express their desires and make advances towards each other. I also think the ... manga is funny and shows some degree of character development.
The main issues I have with this manga are:
-Love triangles (at times squares in here). Yes, Aoi was very cute, good hearted and funny. A very nice person in general. However, I didn't find her that attractive to the extent that virtually every male character presented in the manga liked her at some point. And I will never understand the need to have bestfriends/family members trying to steal the partner of the other.
-Character's presentation and motives: Oh boy...to me this is the manga's weakest point. Shuusei seems to definitely have the most wicked family of all times, until the very end, where author shows you the real reason people did what they did. However, to me, it was not realistic or justification for their previous behavior. For example, Soju did not have to go to the extend of kissing his brother's girlfriend (again) or make sexual advances on her to test a hypothesis. An also, I never understood why Soju kept trying to make Aoi and Shuusei break up (pushing their cousin to get between the couple), seemed to be allied with the uncle, and then all of a sudden had a change of heart. Yes, very moving speech at the airport but I still felt these things could have been better developed.
On the same note, Wataru. Doesn't matter how nice of a person you are, I still don't see a situation in which you would force a person to kiss you for their benefit? how did he know Shuusei would come at the right time to see him making a move on Aoi and act on jealousy? moreover, what if Shuusei never appeared? why would someone try so hard to "help" the person they like? and by the way, a very weird way of "helping", isn't it? And I could go on and on pinpointing character's presentation and motives but then this review would never end.
-Stories left hanging: Eri? It was shown how much it hurt Eri that Shuusei never mentioned her to Reon, yet Eri never sought to clarify that. Also Kaede liking Haru was never concluded or explored. I mean, Kaede was really intent on Haru expressing her feelings to Shuusei but she never intended to be honest about her own feelings?
-Forced/unreal situations:
1. Why would Shuusei ever allow Reon to live with them in a cramped place, specially after finding out Reon liked Aoi?
2. Haru confessing to Shuusei in front of Aoi?
3. Shuusei allowing Soju to almost have sex with his girl?
4. Aoi thinking she did something wrong after Reon kissed her and actually apologizing to him?
5. Shuusei's middle school girlfriends passing away. Just with his family history, Shuusei already had a lot to be miserable about, no need to add a dead ex to make his past more tragic. It felt like a very forced storyline. I mean, she wasn't even his official girlfriend after all.
And I am sure there is plenty more scenes like this but again, this review can't be never ending.

Art 7/10
Ok, so I was going to grade this section 6 as well but then I remembered that although drawings were mostly OK, there are certain panels and drawings that are breathtakingly beautiful, specially close ups of characters. Also, I really enjoyed facial expressions and Aoi turning into a chibi whenever she got stiff.

Characters 6/10
Not in love with any of them, but also don't have any characters I could say I hated.
-Shuusei: I liked most of his blunt sexual advancements on Aoi (yes, a bit much when he almost raped her and then left the house, offended, because she got scared). I also think this is the character with the most character development. I did not like how "tolerating" his nature was to a point to allow people to make moves on his girl. However, this was presented as a learning curve for him, so fair enough.
-Aoi: I already said good things about her, so I will focus on what I didn't like. I can't believe a person this naïve exists! In fact, sometimes her actions fall to a point of being ridiculous and plain stupid. I did like her family though, specially her father.
-Reon: I found him an enjoyable and funny character in general and was happy to see he came to his senses before it was too late.
Other characters I enjoyed: Shota and his brother, can't really remember his name now. The landlady and her kid.

Enjoyment 6/10
I will just say I was glad not to quit, because it does get better. During the first chapters I really wondered what the author was going to do with 98 chapters, as the story didn't really seemed to follow a path, but that improved. Its not a mind-blowing manga, but if you are looking for something to pass the time, this would do.

Well, If I have to say,
L-DK is really a sweet manga, I love how they sometimes mix my emotions, WHICH IS GOOD, because then you will experience many things with this anime (Feelings).

But I do have to say, when it comes to some scenes where they um, how do I say this, get too "Touchy" It does get me a tad uncomfortable, but overall it's a really good manga to read if you have free time, or to kill time.

But if you are a type of person that doesn't like to wait, I don't recommend this manga, because I have been waiting for the ... next Chaptert to come out (Chp. 60) but it does tell you that your into this manga if you wanna wait that long, but GO OUT AND READ MORE MANGA, don't wait too long for this because I'm pretty sure it won't update that quick.

But don't get me wrong I really do Like this manga. I feel like I'm confusing you guys, IM SORRY! ^-^

Opening thoughts:

First and foremost, the first 30 chapters of this manga are a hot mess. HOWEVER, after you get over that 30th chapter, this manga goes from a 3 star to a 7 star real quick and I'm super glad I kept reading because at the recent translated release of chapter 64, it's only getting better.

No, it's not the best manga, shoujo or otherwise, you'll ever read, but after chapter 30, it does satiate that more mature romance scratch that is difficult to find in shoujo romances. So if a high school romance that deals with the more blossoming idea of "adult love" is ... your thing and not just handholding, then I highly suggest trudging through the 30 chapters to get to the sweet center of L♥DK.

Onto the full review...

Story - 7/10

I already stated this, but the first 30 chapters of this manga are seriously a hot mess. The story is all over the place. Aoi is extremely annoying and I started getting frustrated and really rooting for the "rival" which shows up VERY early into the manga. Shuusei as well bothered me. I kept thinking, "For the love of God, just kick this idiot out if he's that much trouble". There is very little character development, and honestly Sanjou and Moe were the only likable parts.

After chapter 30, the story gets so much better, if you can manage to get that far without giving up on these stupid highschool idiots.

What comes in the second half of this manga is a truly wonderful relationship between two "kids" who are probably maturing quicker than they need to. The "living together" shtick is actually great, and you get to see them struggle in ways that people who are dating and living together face. As the two characters begin to finally show development and grow, they lean on eachother for help, improving themselves not just for the other person but because they realize their own flaws and want to fix them.

There are some typical shoujo cliche's here. There are many 'love rivals' but they're extremely superficial and really are just used to drive drama and grow Aoi and Shuusei's relationship itself. At no point did I ever think, "Oh no, I don't know who she/he is going to pick!" It was never like that, but I was interested in, "How is Aoi and/or Shuusei going to deal with this situation?" and in that regard, this shoujo avoided some typical romance manga pitfalls.

Overall the story is not the greatest. The real gem in this manga is getting to watch the maturing love between Aoi and Shuusei. That, I believe, is where this manga's strongest point is.

Art - 5/10

The art style is honestly average. It's not bad. It's not amazing. There are some genuinely wonderfully drawn scenes, but for the most part it is nothing extraordinary. I will say some of Aoi's humorously drawn scenes make me giggle, but overall this is your standard shoujo art style. If I had one complaint, it's that the women are drawn very similarly to the point where it can be difficult to figure out who is who -- ESPECIALLY Aoi and Kaede. There was a good few chapters where I honestly couldn't discern between the two without re-reading.

Character - 6/10

Outside of art, this is where I think the manga falls a little flat. Character development is stalled until after chapter 30. Once the two mains start having a proper romantic relationship, it's all uphill from there.

If not for the story and two main characters picking up after chapter 30, this would be a 3/10 for me.

I'm just going to touch quickly on the two main characters here, since the manga is mostly about them and the side characters are simply not that memorable (which is another reason why this didn't get higher marks).

Nishimora, Aoi

Aoi is a pretty poor heroine in the beginning, and very cookie cutter. After chapter 30, however, there is visible change in her as she deals with growing up and being in a serious relationship with someone who has a lot of issues. Her innocence of character and "cookie-cutter" personality is a bit due to the fact that Aoi has never been through real hardship or pain before. She has a very loving, albeit "out there" family, and has friends that she obviously cares for. The real character development comes from how she learns to interact properly with her surroundings, especially Shuusei, who has been through difficult times and comes from a broken family.

She is a selfish girl who is in the process of learning how to be unselfish. She is someone who has never had to make huge sacrifices or deal with things like death and loss but gets to know people who have and must learn how to properly act around them. She is also a girl who grew up in a naive, fostering (but loving) home and is just now beginning to understand her own much more mature feelings.

She is no Teru Kurebayashi, but she does grow on you with time, and by the end of the translated chapters I believe she is someone you will want to cheer on, if not maybe smack a few times.

Kugayama, Shuusei

Let me just say this, Shuusei is not the terrible jerk that all the bad reviews make him out to be. I fully expected him to be similar to Kyouya Sata from Wolf Girl and Black Prince but instead he just ended up being a typical guy with some deep-rooted issues. I won't get into spoilers, but I do believe he has a reason for acting the way that he does, though I don't think he's innocent by any means.

Shuusei starts off with a real typical "bad boy who looks like a prince" persona. He is a jerk, to the point where you really start rooting for his rival and even at chapter 30 you might just put down the manga and be like "I don't care, screw this guy". Even after that, after some of his confessions of ways he acted in the past, you think, "This guy was really a player".

But after chapter 30, it's clear that Shuusei is a deeply insecure teenage boy who has seen the uglier ends of "love" through a broken marriage and his own skewed idea of it and his other family relations don't help in this matter. It's also clear that he is just as selfish as Aoi, but handles that selfishness differently based off of those insecurities that he has.

Once their relationship becomes serious and begins to blossom, his character opens up a lot more, and we see the cracks in his armor. He becomes much more likable. You can relate to him, and his struggles. He also apologizes genuinely and frequently when he messes up, and does not repeat those mistakes again. His love for Aoi shines through, and by chapter 60, I found myself enjoying his character A LOT more than I ever thought I would.


Enjoyment & Romance - 7/10

I'm putting these two in the same category and will probably combine them for other reviews as well, as my enjoyment with a romance manga relies heavily on whether or not the romance is actually good.

In this case, I believe it is, and I think it's going to get better with further translated releases.

This manga has some extremely romantic moments & scenes that are very believable. There is sexual tension that does not feel at all forced or overdone. There are also some very cute moments that made me smile and yes, I even laughed a few times, though humor is not the strong point of this manga.

The interaction between characters is also very enjoyable, and the maturing relationship between Aoi and Shuusei is something that I am rooting for. I love their lovey-dovey "living together like husband and wife" type scenes, and I love the way they try to protect eachother.

Ending thoughts:

Overall, this is an enjoyable romance manga that is a true gem if you can just get through the first half. Aoi and Shuusei are characters that I did not expect to like or root for, but by the end of it, I am, and I want to see more. I think any one looking for a manga romance that goes beyond the confession and the first kiss and wants something that moves more towards "Josei" territory of maturity should give it a chance. I'm glad I did, even though I had to waste 30 chapters of young teenage drama to get there.

A lot of people write this off in the first few chapters, which is perfectly reasonable. You don't like the first 20, you're not going to like the rest of it. The reason for this is that it's not innocent enough for a shoujo manga, but too meek for a josei.

Right now I'm really enjoying this manga. It's fast paced, slightly different from standard shoujo, but still with many of the common to find in those stories such as love rivals, overly protective parents and tragic backstories. Yes, it's a bit over the top and pervy at times, but I kinda like that about ... it as it's not necessarily ecchi because of this and still holds a story with it.

Honestly I understand those who hate this manga and I understand those who love it. There are days that I would rate this far higher than the score added to my review, there are days I don't feel like reading this at all. It's a very peculiar taste, but there is absolutely no shame in enjoying it from time to time.

I don’t know why the reviews for this one is this sad, but I can’t really disagree with them either, since it seems might not everyone’s cup of tea. I was expecting something bad shoujo manga too, seeing how everyone was reacting, but I was surprised that I really enjoyed it!

Well, first, let’s mention the sexual harassment. I’m okay with a light-joking-kind of harassment, but if it’s getting repetitive, it can get very disturbing. Sadly, this one does. The FL got “attacked” a lot, to the point she seems stupid and weak. That’s why I understand for the reader who only read the previous dozens ... chapters, dropped it. I got frustrated at first too.

For me, then it gets better. Although I’m expecting “more drama” before they got together (I’m a sucker for slow romance), how they got through the obstacles and how they realize to be honest with each other is lovely and not annoying at all. I love how the couple be there and changes each other. I truly enjoyed the story after they got together. I also thought things will get smutty, but surprisingly not! I feel like despite of being a bit jerk (typical), the ML is still a gentleman.

My only wish is the author should’ve explored the friendship and family part more correctly, to be honest. If only it did in a correct way, it can add more warmth and help changing the manga to a more good side.

All in all, I feel like I have to say despite the bad reviews & the constant stupid sexual harassment etc, for me this one is still an okay. I feel like there still much worse manga than this. I enjoyed the journey, and after all, it’s those typical shoujo, of course it’s stupid. I think this one is one of those manga that not that too memorable, but you’ll enjoy re-reading it once in a while.

If you feel like reading something light, slice of life with lovey-dovey couple, this one might be for you.

I never write reviews and this is my first one ever, but I feel like there is a lot of good shoujo manga and you should not waste your time on this one.

Story: 4/10 It isn't too bad but it does follow the cliche route which has been written before. There are no twists or changes in the story. Honestly I see no reason for this manga to be this long. I skipped through some dialogues because they were repetitive and did not add anything to the story.

Characters: 2/10 There is zero to none character development. The male MC is rude and just unlikable ... in my opinion. The female MC is naive and pretty dumb...

Art: 7/10 It is alright. I am not too picky about the art since I can't draw anything myself..

So do not waste your time reading this manga. There are so many good shoujo mangas out there (both ongoing and completed)!!
