This short spin off story was much better than the Sasuke spin off that finished recently. MIrai is an interesting character with a lot of identity issues and issues stemming from spoilers for the main series. It was nice to see her be a focus of the story and also revisit Kakashi and Gai along with other familiar faces. I liked that Asuma was an undercurrent throughout the story and how that resolved by the end. I also liked that the story had a sense of humor about itself which also made Mirai feel more fleshed out. I wouldn't be opposed to seeing another short ...
