I always enjoyed the manga and so it's fantastic to see Ranma get the same treatment as the 2022 Urusei Yatsura anime. It was so fun to see so many of my favorite characters again and get to laugh at the early storylines all over again. I think that the animation style really lent well to the story and gave all of the characters some extra charm. The only complaint I have is that it was only one cour, but I can understand if that means the quality can keep up, though it'd be nice if it didn't take several years to finish all the ...

When I first saw the manga, it was several chapters in and so I didn't end up reading it, and I'm a little sad I didn't just jump in because this series is so fun and engaging. The characters are easy to like and root for. It's nice watching a blend of slice of life, magical girl, and work place comedy/drama. It also has the benefit of most magic girl stories that are shounen of feeling a bit fresh since they're approaching the subgenre from a different perspective as shoujo typically does. I don't have much to complain about either. It didn't set my brain ...

I really enjoyed this movie. It was fun to see everyone again and to see what Super would do with Brolly since I missed those manga chapters. I liked the silly jokes, the added drama to everyone's back story, and how the movie kept things moving. I'm glad this was a movie and not a cour of the anime too because I think that trying to drag it out would be a mistake.

That said, I do think there were times things could have been faster in places and slower in others. I think it'd have been kind of fun to explore who Broly ...

I actually watched this back in August with bells on and just forgot to post here because I really enjoyed this two part movie event. Stars is not my favorite Sailoor Moon arc, but I don't dislike it. I think that Takeuchi really piled on the drama for this arc and wanted to bring us something different than previous arcs in the series. Once again, I think that the SMC team really did a good job with the manga material and made things engaging and fun to revisit. It reminded me of everything I enjoy about Sailor Moon. The characters, the stakes, and the romance. ...

Dandadan (Anime) add
Season one wrapped today and I'm a bit sad but also frustrated mostly because it ended on a cliffhanger more appropriate for an episode 12 of a 24 episode season. However, part of what makes that frustrating is how enjoyable the story has been so far. The characters are engaging and easy to root for. There is some typical Jump nonsense like underwear, dirty humor, etc...but that doesn't detract from the anime's good points like a begrudging partnership that blossoms into friendship and a decent sense of humor outside of the dirty jokes. The world building is fun. The monsters are freaky looking. I ...

i really enjoyed this movie, though I think I liked the previous movie slightly more. Like the previous movie, this felt very much as though it could be a story inserted into the canon with a little wiggling. A lot of favorite characters appeared and the stakes were interesting to me. I also really enjoyed the character interactions though I feel a little cheated on how they handled Kurapika. Other than that, I don't really have any complaints. I had a good time and laughed at all the funny parts and shrieked at a few of the more dramatic parts. It was also interesting to ...

I really enjoyed this movie. It felt like an adventure that could easily slip in between the YNC part of the anime and the NGL part. The plot flowed easily and did not lag. The climax fight could have been a little better but I liked the thought behind it and I liked how the story wrapped. I found myself laughing whenever we got some comedy to break up the drama. It was also nice to see the primary villain of the movie be a true freak. The freakiness of what he was up to really lent to everything. I don't have any complaints, though ...

Once again, we 're treated to a handful of short stories about the Toilet Bound Hanako gang while waiting on season 2 of the main series. The shorts were engaging and worth watching. Some were funny and some were a little weird. I didn't feel a need to skip any of the stories. That said, there wasn't anything super compelling happening or much that stood out above the rest of the stories. I had fun, but it left me wishing they'd just put season 2 of the main series out instead.

If you liked the first season of HSHk then you'll likely enjoy this season ...

This is a kind of cute little short set just before the Fishman's Island arc in One Piece. It was an interesting exploration into world building and seeing how the Strawhats might function as celebrities in their world. I liked how it also illustrated how difficult it must be to live in a town that is a Marine outpost. I would definitely watch more of these little world building special episodes.

If you like One Piece, then you'll likely like this. Admittedly I wish that it could have dug a little deeper but it was decent for what it was.

I want to start by pouring one out for the anime this could have been. It's a shame that production problems plagued this adaptation, because the concept of making the anime black and white and really paying attention to the tone and point of the source material were all good choices. The first episode had so much promise and then we never reached that level of greatness again. That said, the subsequent episodes, while their production values suffered, did an excellent job of taking the story from the manga and improving upon in here and there to make it flow a little better and function ...
