The main character's goal was very straight to the point: to survive because she woke up as the antagonist one day out of nowhere. This was the second manga I read in a row that had a theme with dukes and duchesses and all the nobility.

As for art, you can find pretty/attractive characters, the usual scenes with all the pretty flowers (almost feels customary now that I think about it), and every now and then very nicely drawn sceneries.

Although it says that the manga is still ongoing, the main story ends with Chapter 92. Now, the author is just giving us extra side ... stories.

There wasn't that much drama, so I enjoyed reading all the chapters available in one sitting.

I am surprised to say that this is one of the best “villainous isekai” reads I’ve ever come across in 2021 folks! Melissa is the literal queen and Nine is just so adorable! I hardly can find a decent villainous series out there and this is one of them to have waste my time on! The art was very beautiful, especially the way Melissa dresses like holy smokes *chefs kiss*! Her personality was just spot on too!

I always like the “gender role swap” shown in my romance manhwa list so imma obviously put this down as one! Im glad they expanded the story for ... more 30 chapter epilogues and this deserves a anime adaption y’all…just saying!

This is a very surprising female isekai. I would say it is a rather feminist isekai which is so extremely rare throughout this genre. The main focus is female autonomy and not being protect. It doesn't feature the MC ever, needing to fall in love with a man to achieve her goals unlike other female isekai out there. The MC often help and uplifts other female character and the she not hyper-masculine in female form like using extreme violence like in "kill billy". Through the series, she hold the bad men in the book accountable for their actions like cheating,stalking, and etc. Her ... actions aren't motivated by a sense of self-preservation since she says that at the end of the original book her character is just mock and left alone. So no death or exile.

Her love interest also take place at the last chapters to further express that she never need a man to get what she wanted.

I recommend this if you want a change of pace from all the female isekai out there.

I 100℅ recommend if you want to read a good romance with a strong FL ! 💪💪💪

I normally give romance villainess manhwa a 9 or a 8 but let me tell you, this one blew my mind ! Without a doubt Beware Of The Villainess gets a 10/10 from me ! 🤩

The MC/FL is extremely funny and I truly could not hold back my giggles and smiles for every single chapter ! 😹
Melissa is a strong FL who is not afraid of speaking up and changing the story. 🗣️

I feel like this manhwa addresses the very odd norm of the sh1tty OG MLs getting away ... with the most horrendous stuff you've ever heard of and getting away because they're "hot". 🫠

I read 26 ch of this manhwa and decided to wait for the the end of the story so I can binge read it and I am not disappointed. 📄
The art style is mesmerising and the plot is amazing too ! ✨

I got super invested in the story and lovable side characters (including the adorable side couple). 🤭
The side characters have depth and personality instead of just existing to fill space. 😆

Hats off to the author and artist. 🫡

Again, If you want a funny and intersting manhwa, this one is one that I will recommend from the bottom of my heart. 🫂

If you want indroductory villainess otome isekai manga, this is it. The villainess is very straight forward but it doesnt show shallowness. The FL is just blunt and tells what she feels, feelings like pettiness and wanting things right even if its not the greater good. Each character feels loved by the author. the characters doesnt just do flat one-demsional cut out of what otome capture target is supposed to be. The characters reflect and show feelings other than what they are supposed to be. They feel rounded. The story doesnt completely reward changed characters, they give time to show repent.

art is great, its filled ... with meme faces from korea. Its freaking funny, adds more to the comedy of the story. The faces are very reactionary too.

Refreshing ! That's the best word I can find to describe this webtoon.
The beginning takes a little while to get going but believe me when I say it's worth it.

First of all, Melissa is outspoken, doesn't hesitate to swear and is especially smart.
She is as hilarious as she is powerful, she's not the weak heroine who needs to be saved by Prince Charming.
Let's talk about Prince Charming, finally not so charming at all.
Have you seen any harem where you find the behavior of the male characters really "borderline" but the story portrays their often selfishly motivated actions as "romantic"?

I don't agree, neither does Melissa. The ... novel where she was reincarnated being a reverse harem, we end up with at least four bishonen intended not for Melissa but Yuri, the actual heroine of the story. But it must be noted that their behavior is not good.
Melissa does not hesitate to give them a well-deserved lesson which is a pleasure to see, very cathartic after these few harems or simple shojos where the guy is a bastard and is never portrayed as such just because he is beautiful !

Although the story plays on the tropes of the genre, it also has its own universe made of magic that is described as the story goes along.

It is mostly comedy and we have a lot of fun following this story and I'm looking forward to the rest of the story !

If you're looking for a straight forward, easy otome isekai read, I recommend this one! It's nothing to write home about, but it checks most of the boxes. I've been reading a ton of OI villainess stuff lately and this one is decent.

STORY
The story is pretty surface level - not super complex or deep in anyway. Easy easy read. Settings and environment aren't really built on that much. Again, pretty surface level but that's not necessarily a bad thing in this genre. Some decent comedy as well - it doesn't take itself too seriously.

CHARACTERS
I really liked Melissa (FL) I thought she had a very ... unique personality and outfit choices - I loved how independent she was and fairly straight forward in her interactions for the most part. I also liked her friendship with the main lead of the story, and Nine. The romance is very sweet and wholesome - especially if you read the "extra" chapters after the ending. I really loved reading a OI where the lead prefers a "side character", it's a refreshing take! I hope to see more in the future. That being said, the original male leads of the story ("main characters") were all pretty dull. I'm not sure if done on purpose, but none of them are very likeable...which I guess is also a refreshing take on a story.

ART
The art is breathtaking! Some panels I had to look at again because they were just drawn and colored so beautifully. Really impressive work. I loved the outfits and hairstyles of all the characters.

Overall a great addition to the genre. I would love to see it animated. Really hoping to see more of this genre!

You have the power to save her and mold her into a strong woman. Embrace her. "Beware the Villainess!" delivers enjoyment and mirth as a delightful isekai manhwa, putting a refreshing twist on the reincarnation trope. With determination, a woman who has died gets shipped to the world of a novel as a villainess but instead of accepting her lot as a villainess becomes determined to claim her own life. The protagonist is intelligent and bold, with refreshingly sparks refusing a traditional evil plot to drive her into achieving her own happiness. Koh Lala stories are sharp-witted and refreshing; experiencing empowerment and self-discovery within. Colors ... are vibrant, expressionistic art capturing humor and drama in nicely balanced equilibrium.

"Beware the Villainess!" is light and colorful in tone, with a strong and relatable voice coming from the protagonist. The story flips the cliched expectations with a confident and clever female lead who really doesn't fit any of the villainess stereotypes. It is a light-speed read with constant quirky moments while lovingly incorporating romance and intrigue by the mix. Charming with good character interaction and an engaging plot make it a sheer pleasure to read for any lover of fantasy, comedy, or strong women. Overall, "Beware the Villainess!" is a fun, cheerful, and colorful manhwa with a refreshing twist on familiar tropes and one that any fan of light-hearted fantasy & romance would come to appreciate.

Well the middle was better than decent, but in the first 20 or so chapters everything felt like it took 5 times longer than it should (explaining things, finding solutions, etc.).

And the end, well it came too soon, and the big baddie for all he had to say (and considering what he was) sure disappeared fast.

Also who gets married without showing any kind of intimacy first ? I was disappointed in that.

And then there's the side stories, which are a 3rd of the entire thing and contain everything the main story was missing, like side character development and the actual romance part because the main ... story had none, it would be more accurate to call it an Action-Fantasy rather than Romance-Fantasy.

Normally most of that would've been in the main story, some might say it would've slowed down the pacing, but again, pacing is more of an issue in action stories than romance.

As for the side stories themselves, at least 3-4 of the 7 parts were probably not worth reading for various reasons like showing more negative than positive things, giving backstories to characters I didn't like, like Kartena.

Let's focus more on the positives, by far the thing that stood out most in this manga was the sound track... lol, just kidding, it was of course the artwork, simply excellent, traditional B&W manga art will forever be 2nd place from now on.
The gender role semi-reversal aspects were also kinda nice, I almost thought (hoped) it would go in different (more GL) direction.
