After completing even all the side stories all I can say is this would truly be a “mediocre fantasy world created by a korean author” WITHOUT SEASON 2 and (some) side stories.

Character development is almost non-existent in Season 1 and majorly consists MC shooing away the FL’s male leads—which gets boring. I was dreading to see what was so special in this webtoon. Towards the ending of Season 1, chapters 50+ introducing a new conflict definitely upped the whole story, and it felt refreshing to read something non-repetitive.

DON’T read it for the romance. I’m not saying it’s not there, but there’s no MUTUAL love until ... season 2. The rare slip-in of dirty jokes in the side stories were funny once the relationship was established.

Read “Beware of Villainess” if:
-You enjoy comedy. MC does some hilarious face expressions and comments. However, it sometimes spams the same face—which might get annoying to some people.
-You’re wanting to read OP MC screw all her enemies over. She has crazy plot armor.
-You like to see some action. This story had some sick fights throughout. Especially among the werewolves and monsters.
-You want to delve into the side characters’ stories. I personally think all the character development they had was more interesting than whatever the MC was doing.

Even so, there was SO much filler in the side stories. I regretted reading some of them and it still left the story with many plot holes. You might feel even more displeased with the ending once you read the side stories too.

“Let’s chill out and make love” — our confident and joyous FL never fails to fluster the ML. And that’s one reason why this was such a fun read. The art style is cute and gives a soft feel to my eyes.

Read Season 1 if:
-You’re into the stoic x chaotic dynamic.
-You’re fine with the FL yapping so much about her beloved prince. After a while you might find it insufferable.
-You like jealousy and harem. The FL may be loyal, but she’s way too friendly. Seeing the ML(s)’ face expressions and actions whenever he’s angry / jealous never fails to humor.
-You’re fine with slow plot advancing ... because majority of S1 is just FL working and trying to court ML😭

DO NOT EXPECT:
-Spicy scenes. Just a few kisses.

Season 2 carried this manhwa because it actually dives into many side-characters’ backstory. It shows the FL’s more badass and intellectual side rather than an obsessive stalker.

ML (Kyle) gets more screen time and actually grows on you as a character rather than just the “Hot blonde ML infatuated with the FL who’s not like other girls”. The story gets way more complex and interesting there.

Continue to Season 2 if:
-You like war, action,
-You like plots involving murder, assassination, suicide, and the mentally ill
-Isekais where MC reminisce their old days. This is a good touch, and her past life is actually brought significance to the plot and romance.

Without season 2, i once rated this a 5/10 and dropped it. That’s why if you’re reading this…COMMIT FOR SEASON 2.

ML loved FL despite her flaws and cross-dressing. He was still attracted to her despite FL’s male form. Woman empowerment was presented really well here and I recommend this (Season 2 especially)

“I Thought My Time Was Up!” follows the classic ‘The Hated Child Becomes Loved by All’ story. It starts out cringy when FL clings and flirts w/ ML (insufferable imo), but then it transitions to a nice fluffy romance where both leads are lovey dovey (yay!)

Read if you like:
-Comedy. The fillers in this manhwa doesn’t feel like it’s dragging forever. FL face expressions will always have me😭
-Fast paced plot. I just love it. Slow burn is NOT for me.
-Loyal FL (is it even a competition atp?? She’s locked in with ONLY the ML 4Life)
-Soft spice ;)
-lowkey villainous 2nd ML w/ sad backstory (he’s my favourite)
-Jealousy ... arc. Significant impact on both MLs. They’d wanna restrain her for themselves💀
-Long white haired good-looking priest (clearly biased statement)
-Sometimes badass FL who’d do anything for her friends (SERVES JUSTICEE)
-Revenge

DON’T read if you dislike:
-Dumb FL
-Pink Hair FL (Actually quoting her, it’s “eye-blinding”)
-Baby-faced ML. Also blushes alot. 50/50 for me honestly. His nibbles freak me out
-Almost 0 action scenes

Do NOT expect:
-Angst. I can’t shed any tears or strike negative feeling. What I consider “angsty” would be manhwas like “My Beloved Oppressor” / “My Husband who Hates Me Lost His Memories”[MUST READS IF YOU DISLIKE HAPPINESS⚠️]
-Intelligent FL. Pretty impulsive decision making or just doesn’t give it much thought.
-Alot of competition between the MLs

The reason why I gave it a 6 is because:
-It’s nothing special. The usual romance cliche.
-Art style doesn’t really please me
-It would be average(5) if they didn’t have such a good-looking and well-written 2nd ML. He kept me going honestly.
-Not enough SADNESS and COMPETITION
