This manga is an absolute rollercoaster of emotions due to how much potential there is within the premise, but the author somehow just barely misses the mark of obsession and interest; however, the manga is still entertaining nonetheless.
If I were to describe the experience of reading this, it would be interest to boredom to nearly dropped and finally interest once again — there’s one reason for this: THE PLOT IS SO SLOW. Yes, I love a well-maintained and slow-building plot more than anybody, but when developments are so slow to the point where it feels like eighty percent of the chapter was wasted, then

Anywho, with the plot being so slow, the charm of the premise is sorta lost, so the plot should be the saving grace, but it’s all pretty predictable — however, once the author starts driving development with the main cast, the manga picks itself back up again, giving you those heart-touching moments you’d expect from this caliber of a story.
The characters of this manga are mediocre — I know that all of them have to be stereotypical in order for the story to be “hee-hee, haha relatable/connecting,” but the characters rarely act outside of their premise, so this causes it hard for them to be sympathetic towards. To add to that, the mc is .. pathetic? Though, he does start acting more like a main character in the later chapters, and his input/actions towards the fmc is kinda a “proud” reading moment.
This review is getting a bit longer than I thought, so I’ll sum up some other main points: The art is crude — so crude that it’s hard to set the mood right at times. Along with that, the comedy, which you’d think would be really good, is bad to mediocre — instead, the story is much better when it’s story-based than comedy. The dialogue between characters are also incredibly wordy, and I honestly just skipped half of the filled pages because it’s just non-stop yapping.
Though I dogged on this manga quite a bit, the premise of this manga is too good to not like, and it’s relatively rewarding in the later chapters despite some “dead” moments of interest due to the lackluster comedy and emphasis on side/minor characters. Once this manga focuses on the dynamic and development of the mc and fmc, the story starts picking up, and it’s basically the sole incentive to keep reading.
