Can't say it has a good ending. Can't say it deserves better.

What I'll say is that the biggest problems of this manga are the untractiveness of its characters (totally empty and uninspired) and the total lack of presence on the female lead; in other words, the heroine.

At first we get to know the blonde one, but she gets out of the plot quickly, then the second one appears (the crazy one) but both of them get axed real fast in the "there's this kinda romance you'll never get to see but even then you can smell it in the air" feeling. If this manga were ... a dish, it wouldn't be sweet, it wouldn't be spicy, the ingredients are dull and the execution is generic. The only really good thing Doron Dororon had is the quemistry between Dora and Kusanagi, but the rest looks nothing more than a microwave meal.

Not really worth your time if you've come to enjoy your time, but it is and interesting study case for those learning comic narrative.

Doron Dororon is not without its flaws. I'm willing to admit that. But behind those flaws is a series with so much heart, that, in defiance of all my expectations, I grew to love.

If you want a simple battle shounen that won't take you too long to read, give this one a shot. You may not like it as much as I did, but it's only 5 volumes, so what have you got to lose? Maybe you'll find that it's actually a hidden gem!
As for what the highlights of the series were, I'd say the characters and the art. While not every character got full ... development due to its length, I found myself getting very attached to Dora and Kusanagi. Dora in particular is a refreshing protagonist because of his emotional maturity compared to other shounen protagonists. The art style was very recognizable and unique, and I found it had a lot of charm and brought the story to life. It's an art style I hope Oosuka keeps in future works!

So overall, I rate this manga 8/10. It was a lot of fun reading this manga week to week, especially with how great the community was and still is!

Dorondororon is a newer shonen manga. The story so far takes troupes from demon slayer and bleach beacuase the manga is at such an early stage it is hard to rate it because later chapters may be very good or very bad . so far the story is 6/10 art 7/10 character 6/10 to 7/10 enjoyement 6/10 and overall 6/10.

It does take heavy troupes from demon slayer an example is nezuko is different as a demon the ''bad guys'' and the same goes with kusanigi and the samurai take troupes from bleach as they are trying to defeat the mononoke.

I will update my score ... of this every new chapter it can either go up or down

TL;DR: Mediocre series beats you over the head with clichés, could be a fun drinking game though (drink every time you recognize a character from a better series)

So I have been going back and forth on whether or not I should give this series a 3 or a 5. I was struggling with this decision because while I don't necessarily think Doron Dororon is "bad" per say I do think its terribly boring, and in my opinion there is nothing worse than a boring series.

I initially gave it a 5 on the basis that while it didn't do anything right it didn't do anything ... wrong either. After 30 chapters I have changed my mind and it's definitely a 3. The main problem that Doron Dororon has is that it is filled to the brim with cliché characters and story beats we've seen a million times before (Thats okay, you don't have to have original ideas in order to be a good series). This wouldn't be a problem if the story beats were done cleanly and competently but it's as if the series is aware that you've seen this type of story before so it tries to speed through everything, so you're left with this empty speedrun filled with characters you recognize from a different series, a better series.

On the topic of the characters, no one has had any sort of development in the 30 chapters I've read so far. They are all empty templates. The only interesting character (Ujii) barely has a personality outside of his running gag of being an attention seeker. I don't have much to say about the characters because they don't say much of anything themselves other than beat you over the head with whatever gag is attached to their personality.

The art is decent but the fight choreography leaves a lot to be desired, it reads similar to Bleach's later fights after Kubo stopped feeling inspired.

There are a lot of good battle shounen series out there. Read all of those before you even think of giving this a try.

Doron Dororon is a part of the new batch of WSJ releases that honestly can go either way. They're at a weird place in the magazine, where really nothing is guaranteed. With some big names nearing the end, such as My Hero Academia and Dr. Stone, the potential is there for this manga to rise up the ranks and become one of Weekly Shonen Jump's new mainstays, at least for the time being. But part of that depends on how the story itself plays out.

Doron Dororon is a teenage superhero exorcist manga which features a protagonist who completely lacks the ability that all other ... heroes in his field have and use to fight (à la Black Clover). It is set in the present day world where people and monsters exist together, and a gifted batch of humans are enlisted to fight off these monsters using special powers. Although not showing much in the way of world-building (which is to be expected of a series with less than 10 chapters and no guaranteed future), it has already managed to establish a charismatic relationship between the protagonist and his mononoke sidekick, as well as his mentor/partner/buddy. While also featuring solid artwork and competent pacing that neither drags nor speeds so far, this series currently has almost all the makings of a successful battle manga that fans of the exorcist genre can get behind. Obviously it's far too soon to tell, but I personally have high hopes for Doron, and am willing to keep up with this series to see how it turns out.

Doron Dororon, a new series published by Shounen Jump. It's a pretty generic to be honest, and very similar to Kaijuu 8.
As there aren't many chapters yet, this review can't guarantee how good it could get in the future. At the moment, it's a common plot to shounen genres.

Story: 5 <
[ Our main character, Sasaki Dora has his dream to be a "samurai." Samurai are those people who defeat monsters called "mononoke." However the problem lies with Sasaki having zero supernatural-energy, a necessary requirement to become a samurai. Sometime after failing the test to be a samurai, he meets a very kind mononoke who is ... called Kusanagi. Kusanagi despises the monoke for they always hurt humans (his complete past has not been revealed, so the reason is still unclear..) Sasaki, although has no supernatural-energy, has incredible strength, and Kusanagi, who is able to transform into a katana, team up to defeat the mononoke ravaging the city. Sometime after, they met Ginchiyou (a samurai) who later assists the two and the rest are spoilers. ]

Now, it does have potential, but it's extremely common. The pacing however is a bit fast, so if it turns out to be a long series, it could get better or worse.
Truthfully I don't expect much from it, for if the author is not too creative, it could get repetitive.

Art: 6
The art ain't so bad... battle scenes are interesting enough, and easy to understand. But if you consider the overall quality, it's not that good. Of course, there are times when the character's expressions give some impact, however, it's just up to that. It could use some work. Though I don't have any problems with the artstyle lacking, I only wish it could be better.

Hm, generic story with generic characters, tho they are enjoyable. None I could particularly say are worthy of being the top in my list, but eh. Good enough for me.
The thing I like bout the charscters here however, is that they're consistent and they follow their goals (still a common feat tho...)
But I guess they're fine =3=

Now I don't think this manga will ever reach my standards, but give it a try anyway. A lot of people still enjoy these types of manga. As I said, it is similar to Kaijuu 8. Like really.. just tweak n add some stuff from Dorondororon, an BAM–! It's an actual copy.
Still... depending on how the author does it, this manga could get amazing or just fall into waste. It's a 50/50 chance, but no matter which direction it goes, I still believe this'll be successful for the genre is common yet popular. Personally, Dorondororon is a bit boring (probably cause I've seen types like these a lot lol), but if you just want to have fun, go with the flow, etc., then feel free to read this. However, it's not something that would come to mind when you mention "favorite."

I saw it when it was first released and followed it for the sake of it. Ultimately, it's a generic shonen that doesn't stand out for anything in particular, other than the fun dynamic between Dora and Kusanagi, the protagonists. It has pacing issues, lacks a clear goal ("Making the world a kinder place" is very broad), characters are a bit hit or miss, etc.

It's fun to follow if you're bored, wondering if it will save itself from getting axed, but by chapter #35 seems to be heading towards what could be the climatic fight of the series so that last bit is unlikely. Would ... love an unexpected turnaround, however.

I enjoyed it but I wouldn't go out of my way to recommend it.

To summarize how I feel about Dorodororon in just a few short words: "It's just too decent".

The current landscape of battle shonen is rife with series about humans battling with or battling against demonic beings, and has been for ages. To stand out in such a crowd is difficult and requires a good mix of sticking to what makes the battle genre work, while also offering a unique hook that grabs the reader's attention.

Dorondororon succeeds (for the most part) with the former- it's competent, but far from unique. The author understands what makes a battle shonen tick, and works within a comfort zone that, ... while not boundary pushing, makes for a decent week-to-week read that is easy to follow and entertaining enough to not become boring straight away. It relies on tried and true tropes, but compared to some of the failed battle manga I've read, it at least understands how to use them.

On the flip side, Dorondororon lacks a strong hook; what it does has been done before many times through battle manga history, and to make matters worse, is already being done by a more successful, currently ongoing series in the same magazine (Jujustu Kaisen). With direct competition to compare it to, Dorondororon's lack of a hook- or identity, becomes all the more apparent. You can get by without a hook by being really good, but merely being competent isn't enough, because when that fails, what's left to hold the reader over?

During the past couple of months, the series has rushed into many story beats that felt too soon, too short, and questionable in concept. One of the early characters who felt like a key member of the team was pushed aside for a brand new cast of side characters, who each feel like thinly veiled attempts to capture the appeal of similar characters from other currently successful battle-manga (cough, Demon Slayer and Jujutsu Kaisen, cough). Instead of keeping to its own pace like it was early on, it now feels like the series is desperately trying to catch up with its peers when it should still be establishing itself.

There's also the matter of the art, which while not bad per say, leaves a lot to be desired. There's a sense of stiffness the series hasn't been able to shake, and fights lack a dynamic flair that even its peers were able to do during their humble beginnings. Characters can be expressive, but much like the action, faces tend to be very stiff and often mask-like. The over-all aesthetic is fine, and I think there's some solid visual designs, but the series' is definitely lacking in the visual department.

It's too early to say if the series has delivered its own killing blow or not, but my confidence and interest in it has certainly dwindled over the past few chapters. I'll give the author props if they can recover, but for now I'd suggest holding off from starting this series.

Overall, the series is about a 4.5 out of 10 stars. The best thing I like about it, is the Main Characters and his side kick buddy cop friendship. Which comes off as REALLY cute.

But then the rest of it comes off too generic and I don't know what the mangaka could have done. To take it out of that slump. Shonen did at least let this series get a proper ending. We did have to rush to the finish though.
