The last of humanity fighting a mysterious enemy. Sidonia's story is paced better/faster than Titan and introduces new plot points regularly to keep you interested. Sidonia is like Titan in space with mechs and a stronger plot and characters. I feel like Sidonia accomplishes what Titan is trying to do much better.

The story takes place in a city where it's said that has thousands of levels. In a shutdown area, thousands of levels overlap each other, you couldn't tell the sky from the ground and you couldn't tell which way is up or which way is down. Maybe the original purpose of this story is to unravel the mysteries bound in this time and world. For the humans who found this vast rare multi-level city, the mysterious main character "Kirii" wanders to search for the "Net Terminal Genes" that were not infected.

Despite the contrasting settings, both series delivers a premise that hits the sci-fi horror chords. The main characters confronts monsters in their worlds as they fight for survival. Throughout both series, they uncover the horrible truth regarding some secrets that were met to be locked away. There is decent amount of action along with great story building present in both series. Recommended for fans of sci-fi.

Different time settings but the atmosphere feels the same with the grim reality involving monostrity that threatens humanity's very existence. Claymore and Sidonia no Kishi conveys the very essence of survival. However, there is resistance involving characters who takes a stand and fights for what they believe in. There are mysteries relating to the monostrity present in both series. Furthermore, the main characters themselves are topics of mystery relating to their background origins. There is the reality of horror that becomes pivotal to deliver its message to viewers into both series.

Oddly similar, both have post human characters with unique conditions. In both stories the MC starts off naive, under the guidance of a benevolent authoritarian, but starts to become more skilled and uncover more about their surroundings/situation. Both stories manage a large cast of important side characters very well. Both have the feeling of being aboard a 'ship' - a self-reliant, self-sufficient, but isolated group where each member has an important role to play. In both stories the personalities and actions of the characters have a very direct and severe impact on the trajectory of the story itself - the characters drive the story more  read more

Both deal with humans fighting against aliens. They are dark, and have a heavy atmosphere and a unusual storytelling, with many scenes without words. Both are similar in the characters design.

In both the main character is a guy who suddenly becomes a mecha driver, passing from monotonous life to a fast-paced one! Both have fights with big mechas against a misterious enemy, lovely art and good plot

Knights of Sidonia is set in an interstellar arc ship carrying the last remnant of humanity through the void, while the Witch and the Beast takes place in a fantasy-noir world where magecraft exists side-by-side with smartphones and witches posses the kind of power that can destroy cities on a whim. These stories can both fundamentally be defined as Mystery. While KoS is a Mystery / Mecha / Space Opera and W&B is a Mystery / Fantasy / Thriller, the shared appeal lies in their intricate settings, each presented with a high level of detail (in terms of world building and art style) that simply  read more

Similar character designs, a near immortal protagonist, futuristic setting and themes of what it is to be human, and what it is to be a weapon. Both really great manga full of intense action, a well-conceived science fiction world, great art and interesting questions. If you like one, the other will definitely be worth checking into.

Both of these manga have a seemingly indestructible enemy and deal with psychological problems and have lots of people dying...
