I really loved this manga, i really really did. But then the story began to go way retarded, and bland, boring, stupid, and most important keyword of all: pointless.
Plot 6 - I thought this would be an interesting story at first, the kind where the main character slowy realises her feelings, but no the author had to go all the way to make a totally useless and predictable twist here and there and tried to spice up the story a bit but instead she screwed it up. Now the entire plot is running in circles over and over and over and over and
...
over and over again. the same scenes, the same drama, the same plot. there is no actuall mysteries or guess work in the story no matter how much the mangaka tries the plot remains predictable. I almost feel story for her and her idiotic ideas. There is only one question throughout the entire series "who will yukina choose akira or shigure?" I already know the answer and I bet 99.9% of the fans do to. The plot used to be interesting, but not anymore. The entire plot has now officially turned into a circle with no meaningful progress what so ever.
Art 6 - I should have given it higher points I know, but the more the chapters increase the lamer the art gets, usually people improve their art style but this one just got crappier.
Characters 2- I can hear people complaining about my score from a mile away. But let me explain how bland each character gets as the story progresses :
Yukina- She used to be so cool and cunning not letting anyone get the better of her or take advantage of her. But in the later chaps, every single bloody person gets the better of her, shigure can bully her easily now (and he does abuse her don't deny it), akira can force himself on her, mami can insult her in any way she likes. And the cold-hearted awesome character yukina used to be turns out to be a crybaby. Geez, change of character much?
On top of that she can't get her decisions straight, at one time she's like no akira can't be my loved one, the next minute she's like I don't have a bond with shigure I like akira more, no shigure is the one I love, but akira is so much nicer, but shigure promised to cure my weakness. In short yukina has turned into Bella, and WxxS has turned into one of the millions of bland shojou mangas out there.
Next shigure - Shigure used to be cool too, the not caring type, the type that used everyone and once he got bored he dumped them, the type with a hidden persona. After that he fell in love and kinda changed but its not that big of a problem, after all it was expected. BUT what wasn't expected was the fact how immaturely he handled his feelings. At first he denied his love for yukina until it dragged on forever, and ever. And when he decided to confess and finally make the plot go somewhere, Yukina rejected him. After that when Yukina declared her love for shigure after some chaps, shigure didn't do anything, he just stood there and did NOTHING, and the next cahpers of the manga continued as if nothing had occured after that. The same circles the same pointless love triangles had taken oever again.
Also did I mention shigure has absolutly zero personality in the later chaps, he is like a slow emotionless doll with zero expressions. I swear he has no feelings, even if he does, it doesn't show at all. This is how the mangaka takes a completely cool character and sucks the life out of it.
Akira- Akira was an awesome chracter, and like the other chracters in this manga he got a awful personality makeover. I can now say he has turned fully into an "edward". Bye-bye awesome akira, i'll miss you.
Mami- the only reason i gave the characters section 2 out of 10 is because of mami. I would have given it a 1 outherwise. She is the only chracter that is atleast realistic and has emotions, not to mention a personality. The only character that people can relate to and doesn't stand there all day doing nothing. Even tho she is a minor character she unlike the rest she has some meaning to me. I would even care if the mangaka killed off the other characters.
Enjotment 5- I really enjoyed the beginning. If I had only read the first volume and dropped the other four volumes I would have rated this 9. But now I had to resist the urge to rate the enjoyment section 3, thats how much I started hating this manga. This manga is lucky i rated enjoyment 5 instead.
Overall 4- Four is a good overall I guess, I have seen worse manga. And hey at least this didn't have ecchi in it, although yukina's mission did get alot awkard.
But back to the point, you want to know whether I recomend this manga, if you only plan to read the first volume, then I do recomend it. Otherwise I prefre if you don't ever pick up this piece of garbage. And before closing this I already know how many negative points I am going to get for writing this, in my defense I was only expressing what I believe to be the truth after all I did actually love the first volume, the rest not so much.

Great story about an unpopular high school girl who writes cell phone novels in her spare time. Her peers are scared of her because of her intense glare, so she's never had the opportunity to experience "love." When she hears her fans want more love stories, she decides she needs to experience love for herself so she can write about it and ends up blackmailing the most popular boy in her class. Although he puts on a facade of being the perfect guy, he's actually a jaded womanizer and has little respect for the people around him. The two of them

Desperate times call for desperate measures, and sometimes you're so desperate for a distraction that you'll read an entire shoujo series despite knowing that it's not even good (nay, even bad).
Welcome to Watashi ni xx Shinasai! Normally, when I write these reviews I try to throw in some analysis of shoujo tropes and then the unique aspects of the stories. Instead, I want to take this opportunity to explain why you should NOT waste time reading this manga, and then leave it up to you to judge your own desperation. The most bothersome part of this manga was the out-of-place sexiness of it. Meet Yukina, ... Dec 29, 2010
I'm not usually one to write reviews, but I just felt that I had to write one for this great manga.
The story interesting, with a rather overly-observant girl being shunned by her classmates, yet at the same time they're dedicated fans of her mobile phone novels. She tricks this popular guy into doing love related things to her, so that she could understand love and begin to write about love in her novels. The way their relationship develops is what really captivates you; they slowly but steadily become very different people to the façade they show to the world. The best thing in my opinion about this ... Dec 17, 2009
I LOVE IT!!!! its a classic romantic manga story with a bit of a twist i love her character which is strong but at the same time has her bit of a soft side and the main guy character is the typical popular acting evil but inside he really is kind ^_^ i love the two main character combination this is a manga to read and have in your list.

TLDR; My thoughts on this manga can be summed up in two quotes directly taken from the manga itself:
"I've really had enough of love triangles already..." and "Hisame, I honestly don't give a shit about you." Story 6/10 ... Jul 2, 2010
I randomly started reading it..well the beginning was nice, with the protagonist being an observer, scared of other people that prefers studying them instead of integrating.
An unusual beginning for a shojo. The protagonist also writes a novel and as a writer she's pretty loved by young girls who keep writing positive reviews of it. Some day her readers start asking for more romance in the novel. So,in order to satisfie them, she decides to test for the first time how a love relashionship goes on on herself..a writer can write better if he really experienced what he's writing...isn't it? A good idea, pretty uncommon. So,she chooses a popular boy of her school and ... Nov 14, 2010
Watashi ni XX Shinasai is one of those stories where the plot is the thing that gets you interested in it first regardless whether its a girly story or not. And the plot is interesting to those who like romance's and can relate to the many emotions and circumstances shown in this story. NO SPOILER.
Story 7/10 This story's main subject is something that can be both good and bad. Something that is very simple and very confusing at the same time. People have written poems, argued about it, cried about it, and (horribly) killed for it. LOVE. LOVE and the many characters afflictions and troubles ... Jun 23, 2016
The art is good, and the story begins with a fun blackmail situation, it's also fun to see how the Yukina uses her experience to write her cell phone novel. But the enojyment stops there.
The development is horrendus, and the love triangle (square, pentagon) is forced beyond believe, and the shoujo tropes are exhausted. The story takes a turn after the 15 first chapters or so, and it's just bland. So so so bland. The characters have no consistency, and their developments are just weird. I think Mami, Yupinas love rival, and Shigures younger brother, are the only two that actually keep in character and ... Aug 16, 2015
I enjoyed Watashi ni xx Shinasai, a lot more than you'd think. It made me feel different emotions, some that I personally haven't experienced quite yet. The art was what I had expected, it couldn't be any better. The story was very interesting and adorable. There is a few things that I saw coming myself and others that I haven't. The story motivated me. It made me so happy. When I first found it, I wasn't really sure if it was going to be an enjoyable story. Once I started reading it, I just couldn't stop myself.
Overall, I think this story is absolutely wonderful ... Mar 13, 2015
I just stopped at chapter 37 and I have to say, at first I was completely underwhelmed. Now, RomCom Shoujo manga isn't really my thing, I usually prefer yaoi or psychological horrors, but I do have to say that as it goes on the character development goes along pretty well, the shallow relationships that the character had deepen over time and through the course of events.
However I think every thing is a little too overdramatic and, well, "sparkly". To be honest, the only reason I kept with it so long was because I really liked Akira's character! The main character is pretty well written ... Oct 24, 2010
I gave this manga all 10's because it is truly amazing. I've read Koko Ni Iru Yo! by Ema Tooyama but this manga that Ema is doing right now is better I think. Comparing these two together I would think Watashi Ni xx Shinasai is far better because Ema goes into more depth in this manga I think and has a excellent plot for this. You have a girl who does not know anything about love / romance and then you have a boy who pretends to be innocent who is actually a guy who uses it as a game for him to be

Oh god, this was horrible. It was literally so bad I made an account just to warn other people.
I've read my fair share of romance manga, some were great, other were more hit and miss. But this.....THIS is downright dreadful. At first I was pretty pulled into the story. The pace felt good and the premise of the story was really great. A blackmailed student with a tsundere girl. It had the potential to be one of my favourite. Had. Unfortunately it took a nose dive and never stopped going down. The romance could be summed up as childish, immature and bloody disgusting. I admit, I'm ... Dec 28, 2015
This is one of those unpopular opinion reviews.
A lot of people seem to like this manga and really, I tried to like it too. Actually, the first ten chapters and I thought I'd love it. The heroine seemed promising. She had the whole icy exterior thing going on and had balls of steel. I felt like she was someone I could root for. The hero was cute and he had a whole facade going on too. He pretended to be a nice guy all the time while in reality he felt differently. The art was good. The setting was nice. ... Jan 31, 2018
When I first started this series the premise with the blackmail situation and the characters seemed promising. I also liked the art quite a bit.
Unfortunately it all goes downhill from there as new characters are introduced... Each and every guy acts like a absolute scumbag and also really don't understand the concept that other people also have feelings... They are possibly the least likable characters I have ever seen. As the story continues they get little to no development whatsoever and remain ridiculously bland and unappealing. Somehow Shigure who is intentionally shown as an asshole becomes the only character I could even somewhat like. Speaking ... Feb 6, 2014
I love Tooyama Ema for her artwork. She's a mangaka and "Koko Ni Iru Yo" is one of her best work for me.It made me cry many times too.But I just realize that one of her manga works which was titled "Watashi Ni XX Shinasai!",the main character look a like her so when I'm reading this manga,it was like she's writing a dream story about her.
The story seems interesting but the plot is quite confusing.Yukine is the main character and she's my favorite female character in the manga while Akira is my favorite male character in the manga.I ship this two at first but I changed ... Sep 6, 2016
I changed my mind multiple times about this manga, infact, if it wasnt for my inability to put down a story half way then i doubt i would have finished it.
But im glad i did. The art was nice, it wasnt amazing but i dont really have any complaints. The story on the other hand is where i had issues. It started off well, however part way through it got a little weird. I understand the need for character developement and distinguishing the difference between new and old relationships, but there are moments where the characters dont frel quite right. There becomes a point where it ... Jun 21, 2012
//A cliché or cliche is an expression, idea, or element of an artistic work which has been overused to the point of losing its original meaning or effect, especially when at some earlier time it was considered meaningful or novel.//
so you have it... all this story is giving you is a shower of old overused cliches...starting with a good old one unpopular girl~popular boy (or be it otherwise)...and than we have a love rival or two and some kind of a twist well in this case its a rather weak one...starting with main heroine...she gave some kind of promise in first chapter ... Having just decided to make a MAL account, partially for the purpose of writing this review, please bear with me on the content.
I liked this manga. I really did. The characters were fresh and enjoyable, the story was something I had not seen before, even the stereotypes that were present were at least very well done. Stereotypical characters are stereotypical for a reason: they are usually fun, or easy to relate to, no matter how many times you have seen them. I am sure there are many people besides myself who have had a crush on a childhood friend. I have met a girl with ... |
