Music is the basis of both these manga, through which two young boys bond with each other.

Both are music themed where the band members are in relationships with each other - in a twisted kind of way.

The main reason i find these two very similar is because of the 'feeling' they portray when reading these. The stories are very realistic to a point where they are a depressing reality. Both have characters that are at the low point of their lives and who frankly just don't give a s**t about anything any more. Because of this you won't find fluffy romances or consequential relationships here, but people who have hit rock bottom and live day to day. The art is also very similar. No shading or colouring but very detailed designs and graphics. I didn't personally like either of these mangas but i  read more

The art is very similar. Like, uncanny! Not a lot of shading but very detailed character designs and sceneries. I even thought 'Age Called Blue' was one of Shoowa's works, at first. Both manga's are about musicians and their twisted romances. Although NON Tea Room is much lighter, the themes are still the same. I find the stereotypes towards English Rock bands the same, as well: messed up lead singers, skinny band members with long hair, band members who party way too hard and get a little crazy. Also, the characters are very similar in their actions, behaviours and morals. I didn't personally like either of these  read more
