Have you ever seen those 1950's movies that were super colourful, memorising and just wonderful? Well look no further fellas, I finally found a manga that makes you feel like that and indeed back in time! I really liked how this manga was able to show a female lead, Emma who has a disability (she is blind) and is able to be confident with herself as well as interacting with the police officer Aleksander who is smitten by her. He literally is a gent like he does get nervous by trying his best not to make a move on her since of course she is ... unable to see. Honestly if only every guy was like Aleksander for real!

I just loved both their interactions together like they are literally so adorable. I like the art too, again it’s pretty colourful that makes you think you’re watching a 1950s film from a old television set. However in this mid 21st century, it’s a IPad tablet this time lol. I would love to see this as an anime adaptation because my god, we need more anime set in 1950s Europe like this one!

Nothing really happens through out the manga, you just see small vignettes and jaw dropping art of the main couple´s daily life, and yet it is one of my favorite pieces of media. Its absolutely stunning, you see very big french 20th century inspirations. The art style is absolutely phenomenal, it´s very sensual and elegant. The fashion in the manga is also amazing, it even gives off a fashion magazine vibe.

In general this manga is more like an art book than anything else. If you are okay with this type of format that I would 100% recommend.

Praying and hoping we get the physical ... english version of this manga. I need to own these volumes.

so this manga is just reaaa....aaaly short chapters of peeks of Emma And Aleksander.
Emma is a blind 21 y/o eloped young woman and Alek is a 23 y/o police officer. They just seem to be beautifully drawn and i cannot emphasise enough !! the art is everything -
there is little to no plot but it doesn't make this manga a less. this is like a candy you eat after meal, small and delightful 🎀
DO NOT BINGE READ I BEG DO NOT PLEASE
if you ... consume in one go (which is child's play), you would not enjoy the visuals and the art in the immersive way, it also has such poetic monologues every few chapters.

in conclusion, short read, ABSOLUTELY DIVINE ART, cute chemistry between the two characters and heartfelt moments ♡♡♡

With the increasing amount of generic, copy-and-paste art styles, only once in a while do I come across a manga that amazes me with its beautiful and unique illustrations. Veil, an art portfolio masquerading as a manga, captures the everlasting aesthetic of European 20th century lifestyle, displaying countless different art pieces and fashion designs popular during that era. Ironically, for a manga about a blind main female lead, the manga focuses most of its strengths visually rather than through dialogue.

Characters; Apart from the monologue pages (essentially a page without any paneling, instead offering a paragraph of text from the point of view of a certain ... character), most of the characterization is done through short interactions between the two leads as they live their daily lives. Overall, they're not amazing characters by most standards, but there is not much to dislike about them either.

Story: I can say the same thing about the story. Most of it is fluffy and wholesome moments in their daily lives. I question who decided to put the manga under the drama genre. Since 58 chapters in, I have yet to see any drama apart from the main leads having small disagreements that are resolved in the same chapter.

Art: I can’t give enough praise on how much I love the art in this manga. Hell, I only gave it such a high rating because I love how the artist references modern art and fashion through every small detail across the manga. I won’t say anything else, just look up the different illustrations in veil because god damn it's good.

Gentle and elegant is how I would describe this manga series. The story details how our main character, Aleksander - often referred to by the author as him- meets a blind girl, Emma -referred to as her- and how they slowly develop their relationship with each other. The manga is set up kinda like a gag manga in terms of chapter style and length. Each chapter is mostly just a short interaction between the two, these interactions are largely unrelated though there is a linear progression of time. The way the relationship between him and her develops is sweet and much more reminiscent of a ... western romance movie than a romance manga. The chemistry between the two is great and both are endlessly charming, as is the world around them. The art is gorgeous, it is like a mix of older European comics, fashion design and manga style.

I don't have a ton to say about this other than that it is fantastic and deserves your attention.

Veil is a manga that is frankly a very delicious ✨ VISUAL - DELIGHT ✨

Rant incoming. For the past year, I’ve enjoyed more romance manga. But… none of them has left me amazed or stuck with me for more than a day at most after I’ve finished it. Honestly, for me, I just find them a bit predictable and slow like every single one has got to have a fireworks scene with a festival and a beach episode scene. Most romance manga feel like the same story repeated over and over again… with very little variation. Nothing flavoring it up in the relationship aspect.

Anyways! ... After reading 39 chapters. Veil by Kotteri is by far the best romance manga to date and also the most unique out of all the copy-paste stories I’ve read before. It's a full-colored story, drawn beautifully with gorgeous art sprinkled throughout this manga. It captures the everlasting aesthetic of the European (french?) 20th-century lifestyle, with art pieces and fashion designs from that era. I'm completely weak when it comes to visual aesthetics. Ahem, this manga has really short chapters going in, with jaw-dropping cover art of scenes of the two main characters; Emma and Aleksander.

Emma is a blind 21-year-old eloped young woman and Aleksander is a 23-year-old police officer. Most of this story is filled with fluffy and wholesome moments, the characterizations and interactions between the two leads, and their daily lives. I also love that the author added the “Her” and “His” monologue scenes, every 20 chapters the monologue scenes are usually centered around the events of one of the chapters. It adds more detail and layers to our two main characters. Another cool way the author adds more detail is the personification of inanimate objects commenting on Emma and Aleksander’s relationship. Like conversations of a teapot and empty cup, stairs, and a chandelier. I really really love that and I find it cute.

I think the budding relationship between the two characters is the ambiguity of it all and that is what makes it special. There are moments that can be generally read as romantic, and their banter can be coy or flirty. The specialness of their physical connection; not a sexual attraction or focus on body parts. After reading more chapters, I think their relationship feels like it has naturally progressed from a platonic one to a romantic one. Overall, I don't have anything else to say about this manga except that you should give it a read yourself! ♪(´▽｀)

No Brainer. No matter what you're into, I highly doubt anyone can even remotely hate this.
This is a one stop solution to all your mental troubles. Right off the bat, the very first panel and every single panel that follows is a work of art. Every chapter slaps like a fresh spring breeze. The story doesn't really feel like a plot in succession but rather little fragments of live moments between our MCs Alex and Emma taken out from their lives. Their chemistry is insanely cute and sexy at the same time. The tension, the little teasing, the jokes and happy moments are so well ... intertwined together. The Artstyle might just be the prettiest i've ever witnessed. The Vintage plus Retro feels are a cherry on top, everything feels alive and moving even thought it's just some color doodles on a paper technically. Overall, your loss if you miss it.
