It's springtime, when new leaves start growing and flowers start blooming! ![]() ![]() - Emotional human drama (most with supernatural elements) ![]() ![]() Part II (in progress): myanimelist.net/stacks/55838 ![]() ![]() I haven't read a lot of One-Shots, partially because they never develop well enough in a single chapter/volume but there's some that are actually concluded nicely and that I enjoyed reading so I hope I make someone read these One-Shots as well. ![]() ![]() By the title I mean these manga (generally) don't follow the typical Shoujo trope such as Reverse Harem, Popular boy and Unpopular girl, Hot dudes and so on... These series are mostly wholesome and wonderful to read, and it doesn't feel cheap enough to be dropped after reading three chapters only ![]() ![]() When questioned with "what are the best manga?" many readers would opt to suggest a series that has been in serialisation for years with dozens of volumes in total, but what about the shorter manga? I find humour in the irony of "it's getting dragged out" as a criticism when there are so many fantastic short manga -- even one's with a single chapter being on par (or even better) than long running manga. Despite this, a rhetoric of 'longer=better' remains... ![]() ![]() I have read a lot of short stories and one–shots manga, like really a lot. What I like about it is to see how the author achieves to deliver an impactful and memorable story despite the short amount of pages. It's a difficult exercice a lot of one–shots and short manga fail in but when it's good, it becomes very enjoyable ! So here are the best works of this kind I have read so far. |
