In case you decided to essentially ignore the synopsis like I did, this really has little to do with Liar Game. The gambles are more like everyday dilemmas that involve either getting in trouble or succeeding at your goal.
As these stories are quite short, I can't really talk about them without spoiling them. I kinda guessed all the plot twists in the stories in advance... I dunno, there wasn't any specific reason for

"Liar Game: Roots of A" -- is supposedly a prequel to the long "LIAR GAME" manga. I haven't read the original one (its sequel) & this review is going to be on this 6 chapters manga/short stories.
-- All these 6 chapters are short stories based on different psychological phenomena such as FORTUNE-TELLING, PSYCHOLOGY, DESTINY & FATE. -- I found the stories really heartwarming & each story has a good end. Once you reach the end, you really ask for more. -- The MCs in each stories are really likable characters and with nice personalities. Overall, It was a good read for me & ... May 2, 2023
Even though the Roots of A in the title probably refers to the roots of Akiyama, only the first chapter of this manga is about Akiyama and the liar game. The other five chapters are unrelated short stories. The first chapter can be read anywhere you want after Akiyama is introduced in the Liar game. It's short, so you won't waste too much time, but personally.. I feel like this is false advertising. Liar Game is great, this is good, I just wish it was more consistent in the offering, ... |
