I'm still surprised at how good this manga actually is, I started reading it without any expectation, believing it would be the umpteenth trashy isekai story. what I found instead is a gold nugget. the gags and jokes are actually funny and do not feel overused. The fantasy world so far is not the usual unoriginal isekai world filled with goblins, slimes, horned rabbits and other common troupes. The author has been able to put his personal touch in this genre so popular and overused by creating new monsters, deities and giving funny quirks even to the so common elves. I also appreciated the many

this is a bro story.
Here's how it starts. Two childhood friends (32, Male for both) get killed by a goddess into a fantasy world. However, because of the wish of one of the friends, he was transformed into a western loli. Not only that, the goddess placed a curse on them where the two fall in love with each other. This is an... interesting premise to say the least. Normally, I'd read a few chapters before putting it in the back burner. However, there's a lot going for this manga. the characters are fantastic. I'm not saying this because the characters have some deep and emotional ... Jul 12, 2021
So personally I believe 99% of Isekai manga are garbage. Without fail they fall apart as the story progresses and it becomes the same old mess in the end.
But "Fantasy Bishoujo Juniku Ojisan to" sticks out when you keep reading it. On the surface level everything about it is pretty standard for an Isekai ( minus the gender bender part ) and you might even forget about it after the first chapter. However there is one thing that separates itself from the rest, the comedy. Everything in this manga is structured to support the comedy. The story makes just enough sense for all the ridiculous ... I understand the premise might seem generic or strange to fans of either GB manga or the isekai genre and I thought so too but this manga is actually a very fun read and nice diamond in the rough among others in the genre. The characters (2 men in their 30s, childhood best friends, single virgins of completely opposite characters) find themselves in a fantasy world after a goddess finds them and then curses them because they pissed her off.
It’s a fun rom-com, the two mains have a good relationship and the writing is good at balancing the “two best friends” dynamic and the “cursed ... Apr 13, 2022
"Fantasy Bishoujo Juniku Ojisan to" is a comedy-isekai series about two, male, white-collar office workers who get swept away to another world to save it from an evil demon lord. Also one of them gets turned into a cute girl and the two desperately try not to turn their bromance into a romance, so there's that too.
There's really not much to say about this series other than it's cute and pretty amusing. I wasn't laughing on a regular basis, but I did have a smile on my face for most of my time reading this series. It's very silly, verging on stupid (which is not ... Oct 19, 2021
While not the most original or creative isekai ever convinced, the story is drenched in so much satire that it is impossible not to chuckle at the comedic humor and situations the characters find themselves in. Despite looking like the late night caffeine induced creation of a high school or college student, the manga truly puts the "com" in romcom.
Jinguuji and Tachibana have more chemistry together than most other protagonists will have in their entire runs. While their relationship isn't the most though provoking or mature, they play off each other in ways that not many authors can manage which is itself praise worthy. ... |
