An isekai I just found that I have high expectations for. The story engages in some of the isekai tropes we know and love (or hate) but wraps them in an interesting and novel premise and story execution. The main character is our worlds greatest assassin who when he is killed for wanting to retire, (and the lengths they have to go to to kill him say enough) is brought in by another worlds goddess for the job of his new life. If I'm to be generous, I'd be giving this series a 6. It had some promise when I was reading it early on. Last chapter I read before was 6 so I still had some hope. After reading again until ch. 10, I felt it became a bit more cringe and became harder to read ever so slowly.
Generally, to hone your skills and acquire connections and whatnot to kill the hero is a less popular trope when it comes to isekai, but in here the hero's face wasn't even shown till chapter 11 or something. That's quite a long introduction considering there are lots of ...

Some minor spoilers for the first volume (LN) or the whole anime.
This is actually a fairly decent isekai tbh, but this adaption pacing is so rushed, like they speedran the first volume in 15 chapters. Some of the event was changed to compensate for the rushed pacing, but did not do justice to the lack of explanation to the magic system / relation between characters. if you want to enjoy the first volume of this, i STRONGLY reccomend WATCH the anime. While the Light novel is the main source for both the anime/manga, the director of the anime actually makes the story better by including some ...

Isekai Strongest Assassin Whatever is a Mushoku Tensei style isekai where the rebornee starts in the new world as a child in a new body, carrying over all the moral questions this type of story brings(and so far, brushing most of them aside). It has all the cheesy traits you'd expect from an isekai, such as having harem, a video game skill system and an exceedingly overpowered protagonist.
What I expected going was an edgy isekai to waste some time, and i'm satisfied from that perspective, but multiple aspects of the story bother me. The premise of the story is about how an experienced assassin, after outliving ...

I have re-read the entire manga.
This specific Isekai is one of the better ones. I did watch the Anime, it's slightly better than most. The MC is a seasoned veteran Assassin who gave up his life for the company only to die. In this 2nd life, he chooses to live for himself and carrying the honed abilities he build upon. I appreciate how his OP ness is earned reasonably and not just shoven on him out of nowhere. Power Scaling, it is still fair and even better to witness the MC struggling against people/powers not even he is familliar with. The rest of the characters have their own unique personalities ... |
