I have mixed feelings about this manga

It is a very sweet and pure love comedy between a teacher and a student.
On the other hand, this kind of relationship where one holds a position of power and authority over the other is the recipe for disaster and abuse.
There's a reason teacher/students relationships are "frowned upon". Kind of like Boss/Worker, Brother/Sister, Parent/child. There's a clear structure of power on these kinds of relationships that can be used to dominate and abuse the partner.
I never personally experienced any of those abuses, and I am by no means an expert in abusive relationships and teaching ethics. But Just from ... reading what people went through in these scenarios, it makes it clear why its a bad idea.
But this manga is by no means a story of abuse.

The manga seems to be aware of this, Rinko-sensei herself is aware of it and won't "date" Arase until he's 20 and no longer her student. Then this structure of power will be removed and they can stand in equal ground. I think this is a nice idea but it doesn't change the fact they are in love while still student/teacher, and that's exactly why this manga is good.

The manga's charm is in the subversion of their power dynamic.
Rinko is a strict teacher that holds power over the "lazy" student Arase. This changes when they fall for each other and Arase takes the role of the pushy and flirty romantic that holds power over the shy and evasive teacher. It makes for good romantic comedy

But then again, this is "the best case scenario" for a teacher/student relationship that doesn't show any of the "bad sides" of what could happen (until now) and it might influence the minds of young readers.

Overall I really like this manga. It is definitely a cut above most slice of life manga out there

tl;dr: A sweet romcom that shouts in your face every 5 seconds that it's a student-teacher relationship, and is one that makes you want to see the couple actually do anything. Good if you're looking for a relatively wholesome story with some good laughs, but not so good if you're looking for anything along the lines of cute couples doing couple things

There are plenty of student-teacher romances out there, and it's no surprise they mostly follow similar patterns. "Dame! ur my student/teacher" and so on so forth. What makes this manga different from the others you may ask? Well turns out the 2 are already ... a cou.....ple?


Story:

The story follows the perspectives of our 2 protagonists and follows a rather SoL type of format, with each chapter containing segments of everyday life. Our main male lead Arase constantly wants to be all lovey-dovey with his girlfriend/teacher, Rinko, our main female lead. But alas, because they're student-teacher, their relationship can never fully be obtained. Did I mention that they're student-teacher? They're student-teacher. In case it was hard to tell, this indeed is a romance manga about a student-teacher relationship.

Now if that constant reminder that they're student-teacher felt annoying to read, that can sum up the main issue with the story in general. It feels like at every instance possible the story has to remind us that they're both student-teacher, and every time even the smallest of romantic developments seem to happen, we get hit with the "wait until graduation b-baka!" As a result, it creates some rather frustrating moments because the 2 seem cute together don't get me wrong, but cmon even when they're alone with nobody watching they could at least be more intimate together? Granted they're not complete strangers, there are some moments where sensei justs give in and they do some couple-y stuff, but the manga really makes you want to see them do more

Art:

The art is fairly nice, characters are well-drawn and it's not like it's hard to follow what's going on. A+ effort

Characters:

We'll start off with our male lead, Arase. He's pretty much Sakuta 2.0 from Bunny Girl Senpai, has a very monotone demeanour and likes to tease sensei from time to time (ok maybe all the time). At the very least he's respectful of sensei's decision to wait until graduation

Our female lead Rinko is your a-grade tsundere. Granted she doesn't bitch smack Arase any moment she gets, but she does put up that hard on the outside, soft on the inside personality that is common in many of the tsundere archetype. It is cute to see her blush during moments, and when she finally decides to give in to Arase's love approaches, but you kinda wish she would stop enforcing that they need to wait until graduation once in a while

Enjoyment:

I won't lie, I do enjoy reading this manga. I think the comedy is kinda good at times and there are quite a few cute moments. Really it's that whole relationship progress issue that keeps this series from being a great one

One of the cutest drama-free romance manga that I've read in recent times, Sensei wa Koi wo Oshierarenai is a good recommendation for anyone looking for a short cute romance read.

First things first, I am a sucker for cute romances with little or no drama(love triangles, cheating and all that BS). So when I picked up Sensei wa Koi wo Oshierarenai and read a few chapters, I got totally hooked on to it.

There is no detailed story, just the love between a student and his teacher and how it grows. Unlike some other student-teacher relationships which are downright creepy, this one is pretty cute and ... normal due to the really short age gap and maturity of Ryo and Rinko.

The art was not detailed but cute in it's own way. With the simple lines but realistic looking characters, the art grows on you. The mangaka also does a great job of making the cute moments really look cute.

The characters are the best part of the story. They are young, flawed and life-like. You will most certainly be able to relate some part of you with them. There is not much character growth expect for the romance. Ryo and Rinko slowly grow from their shy young lives to more mature at the end.

Sensei wa Koi wo Oshierarenai is a good read for any cute romance fan and with only 47 chapters, it will take only a couple of hours for completion. Give it a read, you'll love it.

Best TILF wholesome manga ever.I want this animated.This is a masterpiece that not everyone knows.The characters have their own respective partners so there are now love triangles or anything.The ending seems rushed but I understand that they made it that way.This may seem like not a good manga for others because it's about a teacher and a student but please..try reading this.It's very wholesome and the romance is perfect.10/10

The teacher didn't just gave herself in to the student just because she loved him.She knew their limits and their situation.The student also knew his limits as a student and understood the teacher.

This manga isn't that realistic ... considering a relationship between a teacher and a student.But if you compare this manga into some other teacher and student relationship type manga, this manga could be the closest to reality....at least I think so.

In short: A funny, adorable, and enjoyable slice of life romcom with a twist to make it more interesting

Story 9
Pretty much like any slice of life or romcom (in a good way) except for the student and teacher relationship. While this is seen as unethical as real life... This is a manga so chill. The MCs are already together to not much development happens, and this can be seen as a good or bad thing, depending on your taste. Personally I really enjoy it, their interactions are funny and cute, and the student and teacher relationship makes it different and more interesting. It makes up ... for the lack of development with its warm lovers' banter. So if you're looking for development this probably isn't for you, but trust me, just seeing the two characters and their interactions make it all worth a read.

Art 7
Honestly, not much to say here. The art's simple, it shows what it needs to (Characters' emotions and what not), and you know what's going on. That said, it isn't particularly outstanding, but hey its good enough to support the story.

Character 8
We get a clear picture of the MCs through their cute interactions and funny banter. While there isn't much development, we get to know them as the story progresses through their interactions. They're lovable which makes the manga a great read. While there are some side characters, they've got limited "screentime", and in my opinion, it would be great if the manga introduced them and gave them more screentime with the MCs.

Enjoyment 9
Personally, I really enjoy reading this manga. I read it just for seeing the MCs together with their cute and lovable interactions and funny banter, both of which make up for the lack of development. Again the lack of development doesn't really hinder the manga in anyway, as it's still very enjoyable to read purely because of the aforementioned MC interactions and banter.

I highly recommend giving this manga a read, as it's funny, cute, and lovable. It's simple story is nice break from stories with heavy plots, and very fun to read.

I love romantic comedies, and this one is just perfect.
"Sensei wa Koi wo Oshierarenai" doesn't waste chapters, it knows what it is trying to achieve. We get to know more about these characters and their messy lives with every new page. Nothing is wasted and the manga feels perfectly paced, even the slower moments are not boring as we get to know the sides of the characters we haven't seen before.
This story is incredibly wholesome and deserves high praise. The characters are written perfectly and for every cutesy moment, you get your fair share of laughter. Not to mention the high level of art.

This manga is really wholesome and I would definitely read it again. I found out about this manga through pinterest and started reading it. I finished it a couple months ago but I'm just now getting a chance to write a review about it!

Despite me liking this manga, I do think that the "forbidden love" trope could have been executed better.

Don't get me wrong, I'm an absolute sucker for romcom mangas with their own unique spin on ship dynamics/tropes but I do think that the student-teacher relationship could be a major turn off for majority of people reading it. Student-teacher relationships aren't ... as cool as the media presents it to be and it should not(yet still is) romanticized everywhere.
I personally usually don't like those types of illegal relationship tropes but this one is way more tolerable for me. The idea of Rinko being Arase teacher and being in a secret-relationship with him while he was student could ( and has) make a bunch of people create the wrong idea and image of the characters relationship in their minds.

It's really fortunate that this manga didn't get cancelled due to the student-teacher relationship and was able to be completed. I really like Motomi Minamoto's work and I really enjoyed this one!

Imo this was a 10/10, I loved it so much!!!! would def recommend to a friend or just a romcom manga enjoyer in general!

In a sea of recommended reviews for "Sensei wa Koi wo Oshierarenai," I've decided to put my foot down against this not-so-creative premise of a rom-com for one reason: child predation. Yes, I'm fully aware of the implications and severity of what is being said, but the message is being laid clearly in front of readers' eyes from the first chapter, and I never fully accepted the blatant misdoings and skewed rationale of the main characters by participating in this disgusting act. Perhaps there are cultural lines not being communicated from the storyboards to foreign readers that I have not readily understood, but despite this, ... attempting to romanticize the tale of a teacher-and-student relationship as something not inherently criminal, scandalous, and career-ending rubs me the wrong way. "Sensei wa Koi wo Oshierarenai" as a concept for a romantic comedy, to begin with, is a contradiction in itself. How can taking advantage of a boy when in a professional environment be viewed through a comedic lens? The female professor in this relationship is made out to readers as the intelligent and stringent type but is somehow blind to the fact she is partaking in a commonly understood felony. To readers who oppose what is being said in my argument and have read this series in its entirety, I get that the characters themselves know what they are getting into should they be found out and reported. But if you can imagine the sensei here either behind bars or left on the street without any future chances of employment because she was discovered to be with a minor 8 years younger than her, you can more easily grasp the magnitude of what is being purported by this relationship. There is little means to justify the two and their level of intimacy because 'they weren't caught,' although the characters don't really do that well either. Even story and plot-wise, the chapters and small arcs, later on, fail to demonstrate any meaningful and traceable progress between the two, depending entirely on the basis of their secretive and illegal relationship to carry the comedy and dialogue. There are genuine moments between these characters that allow, even for just a second, readers to confide in the struggles of keeping a tender and warmhearted love a secret. But allowing what's best for the other person and abstaining may be the real signature of love, however much it hurts to do.

Could've been better. It's a "bus stop" manga.

It was almost everyone's fantasy at some point to be romantically involved with their teacher when they were a kid. This manga is the realisation of that idea.

It's wholesome and mature, but there's just not enough meat to this manga.

It's almost boring with how little actual events happen in the manga. It's practically the same status quo for almost every chapter. Some people will like that, it's a safe and comfortable manga. But for others like me, I'd have preferred drama. Even if you disagree that this manga should have included some drama, it's undeniable that the manga ... suffers from any sort of character development or captivating moments in the story to make you want to read on.

I'm going to coin a term I'll be using in my reviews from now on for manga like this. It will be "Bus stop" manga. Bus stop manga are exactly that, Manga that would best be used to pass the time while you wait for the bus. Not captivating enough to get yourself invested in during a long reading session, but entertaining enough to pass the time from chapter to chapter as you wait for the bus.

It's certainly one of the more entertaining Bus stop manga I have read, but that's because I certainly enjoy the fantasy of romanticising a teacher. Personal bias aside though, and the manga isn't captivating enough to hook me for the entire duration. The chapters have a rinse-repeat cycle and there's practically no character development or interesting story developments. If the manga was longer and less "moment to moment", with some drama sprinkled in, I think this could've been a slam dunk of a forbidden romcom manga. But alas, It remains a Bus stop manga.

Overall, I think this is an entertaining bus stop manga, but nothing you should go out of your way to read, unless you like the teacher fantasy. I do think that the way the author handled the forbidden romance between the student and teacher was great though, and very mature.

It's a simple love story between a student and his teacher along with all the problems it causes. They try to tackle the realistic issue of dealing with how society will see them. The method they end up usually doing is spending time in secret.

ART:
The art is also simple but that makes it more easier to relate to.

CHARACTER:
They're normal but their circumstance make them appealing.

ENJOYMENT:
... I enjoyed the manga and it does a good job at making me root for their success.

OVERALL:
Very good read if you're into age-gap romance or just want something different from the usual rom-com.

What a cute and fun read! So many squee worthy moments.

If you are interested in the exploration of a student-teacher romance that's rather lighthearted but subtle at times with how it address the forbiddeness, this is a good one!

The two do not think their love and attraction to one another is wrong. The teacher in this relationship wants to wait until the guy is 20 (the age of majority at the time) to do anything physical, but make no mistake. She is just as horny as he is for her, which causes a lot of wacky situations.

My only complaints-- I wish we got to see ... more of the female lead's sister. She is also in a relationship their parents disapprove of and I would have liked to see more of their time together to really make the message shine.
Most importantly, the ending was very rushed. I barely processed what was going on given the timeskip and what little that happened besides "this is where they are now."

Teacher student romances in real life are 99% likely to end up badly, especially for the student. That's why I like to read them in fiction where the audience can be 100% certain that they truly love each other. And these two truly deliver.

The most wholesome manga I have ever read.

Story:

First I would like to point out, how this manga single-handedly manages to change your perception of character in just a few panels. First I didn't really like the teacher and thought that she is just another strict teacher character, but the mangaka managed to convince me in just a few panels that she is the cutest teacher anybody could wish for.

A lot of people think that teacher x student love is really controversial theme, but it isn't anything new to us that watch anime or read the manga.

But unlike other Teacher X Student stories, this one ... isn't that perverted and is really wholesome instead. Even people that don't think that student x teacher love should be a thing, end up cheering for them.

art:

The art just adds up to the wholesome atmosphere and makes you scream at the mc to kiss the teacher already.

The design of the mc is pretty original, but I haven't read that many romcom mangas to know, his faces are sometimes almost as cute as the teacher's.

The teacher has one of the cutest character designs I have ever seen. She might be 25, but she still looks cuter than normal schoolgirls (especially without glasses).

I’ve been following Sensei wa Koi wo Oshierarenai for over the past 2 years and despite the infrequent updates each new chapter keeps me excited for the next. And now with 45 chapters read under my belt I felt that I should make a review.

Sensei wa Koi wo Oshierarenai is another super sweet romance comedy slice of life, and if you like that formula, you’re probably gonna love this manga. The series doesn't get too caught up on complex love triangles and unnecessary drama; the story tends to keep itself pretty lowkey. It’s not ambitious in its presentation but It really doesn’t need to ... be. I find that the best romance series are the ones that keep it the most simple; that's why I like Sensei wa Koi wo Oshierarenai. From the get go you know who the main couple is and it focuses on the cutesy rom-com shenanigans that usually occur. Too many authors try to make their audience pick a favorite girl or boy and then just leave you disappointed when they aren't chosen. So if you, like me and many others, are conflict averse, then this is the manga for you.

The characters for the most part are pretty fun. Rinko is a classic straight laced teacher with a heart of butter, she’s fun and she keeps the romance cute. Arase is a total bro. I use that word because he’s the type of chill goober that you would want to be friends with. He's a bit lazy but he’s chill and cares about his friends and RInko. I like the dynamic they have of a straight-laced teacher and a non-caring student. It's fun. The supporting cast is ok I guess, they aren’t really the main focus but they aren’t bad.

TL;DR Sensei wa Koi wo Oshierarenai is a sugar sweet romcom with a hyper focus on just this silly little romance between a lazy student and a stern teacher, it’s cute and doesn't dwell on any super complex topics. It's worth a read if you aren’t looking for anything too ground breaking.

Although some people might hate long age gap relationships, but there is something about this storyline that's really cute, thats the thing i really enjoy about this manga, 2 different person building up that beautiful chemistry, and all long the those little slice of life parts are really nice to read as well.

So Story is enough to hook any romcom fans in my point of view, its the basic story of all relationships, two people love each other they wanna be together, Problem is they are also teacher and student, being that a quite big obstacle in there relationship, its very cute and wholesome to ... see them overcoming it.

Art style is good enough to, keep me into it, mainly i dont care much about it, but some may like it, some may not, its all about your taste,

There aren't many charecters so many in the show, Main charecters are the only spotlight for now, The guy is kinda unique to me, some may see him almost like Hotaru Oreki from Hyouka, but the main guy here is quite less intelligent, he does most of things for his teachers(also his lover) sake, things studies and grades, On the other hand our sensei is a 28 year old tsundere, there might not unique individually, but together they seem quite the match.

Overall, its one of my favourite manga to read, and putting aside the flaws, i would give it 9.5/10 and hope to get Anime adaption of this manga,

This series is so cute, wholesome, funny, and comforting. I just wondering how they axe this series suddenly and the ending was not as we expect this to be since its a bit forced and fast

In regards to the entire series, the dynamic and funny relationship between a tsundere teacher and her students who are free-spirited is always so interesting to read. I had a lot of fun watching these 2 grow their relationship together and figure out everything they need to finally settle down ... the relationship and embrace each other. I also like all the romantic scene and the love they show to each other.

The art is enjoyable even if its not the greatest aspect of this series. The pace is just perfect and I really enjoy this kind of slice-of-life wholesome romance thing as it will make you happy throughout all the wholesome moment

It's a simple sweet rom-com that draws the line at teacher/student. If you want a manga that goes over that line of intimacy go somewhere else but this manga certainly dances right behind that line BEAUTIFULLY.

The story is relatively simple and straightforward, a typical drama plot around 20+ chapters in but the pacing and action of each chapter is done STUNNINGLY, I can't list off any other mangas that do pacing this well.

The art is about average for shoujo manga levels but that makes it enjoyable and immersive in its own way. The characters are rational and relateable, while keeping the roster small so each ... play an important role.

Overall, this manga is super well made and managed to deliver the enjoyment of 80 chapters within just 34 without feeling rushed. Definitely a top ranking romance manga.
