Both Aphorism and Gantz have the main idea of surviving against strange beasts/aliens. Both are really bloody and grotesque.

Blood! Slaughter! Survival! In both manga the students are forced to participate in many life or death trials by a so called God. The god in both stories are mysterious and all powerful and are kind of interested in the main characters. Both main characters has his own unique strength that helps him get through the trials. The trials in both stories are well thought out and exciting.

Isn't this just another school manga? Aphorism is a school manga, yes. However, the students of Aphorism are just as scared as Kamisama no Iutoori Ni's participants - both stories deal with strange death games. Despite their relatively heavy premises, these stories contain a few funny moments which, in the case of Aphorism, are found more frequently. That said, Kamisama no Iutoori Ni is much more straightforward when it comes to violence. Aphorism bears more light-heartedness in between action scenes, so its actually shocking moments are truly shocking. In conclusion, Aphorism should be a good read if one enjoys the school setting and students fighting for their  read more

A special power in accordance with the meaning of the symbol you choose (Aphorism), or a crucial talent you discover, hone and develop over the course of time (Ansatsu Kyoushitsu)... Both schools will teach their students how to fight and survive under the most various circumstances, which will tend to involve hardcore survival in Aphorism, or furtive assassination techniques in Ansatsu Kyoushjitsu.

Students in the school fight each other for survival, but unlike Aphorism, the students in Ware ha Kenou!! are grouped into two. The "King" must find a "sword" that will represent him/her to fight against other teams to claim territories to make their "sword" stronger.

The MCs are both really similar, a kid who has skill for where they are placed. Both have violence and gore,so a lot of the tones are similar. Though the plots are totally different: Akame ga Kill! focuses on killing people to purify a kingdom while Aphorism is about just surviving a crazy high school. Don't let that turn you off though. If you like one, I guarantee you'll like the other

Both are about school kids who are thrust into a kill-or-be-killed game. Have similar art style.

Both of them are happening in the school where they are forced to fight, and in the end graduate to get out and finish. They have bloody and creepy scenes and are violent...

The male protagonist in both stories are suddenly caught up in a (supernatural) world they cannot escape and desperately fight for survival as they try to reclaim their ordinary lives.

In both stories the protagonists are considered ordinary and average, but with the exception that they can see something most other people can't. This special sight leads them into trouble with a female counterpart as they daily fight for their lives against supernatural forces.

The power of words and imagination. Imagine a world where one can draw out power from one's own imagination. What you have at first might not seem all that powerful, but how you use it is what makes the difference.

There is a similar vibe between Aphorism and Afterschool Charisma -- although the latter leans in more towards mystery and psychological factors rather than fantasy and horror. In both titles, a certain group of students is given focus and bond together against the conflicts it faces. Despite having rather dark themes, both titles also have quite amusing comedy inserts every once in a while to help lighten the mood of the situation.

Both mangas have magic powers: characters in Aphorism and alices in Gakuen Alice. Also, both are about teamwork, and magic. There is also an element of mystery which makes them similar.

Students are thrown into a game where if they cannot get out, they die.

In both, main lead (male) entered a school they thought was normal, but students there are able to use magic/mysterious power. That's the only similarity. Mx0 is much more light-hearted, students there learn and use magic, and having fun. Aphorism is of serious tone, bloody/gory.. Students entered the school are 'jailed', they are forced to stay in the school until they graduated(if only they could make it), and forced to fight monsters every now and then. Aphorism is really what I called a hidden gem.
