There are people that will hate this series by default because they don't agree with the brother-sister genre entirely but I have to say this manga does an amazing job showing everything the genre has to offer. The point isn't that she's his sister, the point is that she is the closest person in the world to him. He falls in love with her because they share all the same interests and look out for each other and because he can't imagine being with anyone else.

It isn't something you have to want a relationship with your own sister to enjoy, it is simply a love ... story between two incredibly close people and the whole forbidden aspect of the relationship just adds some tension to spice things up.

The important thing to remember is that fantasy is by definition not reality and the inability to distinguish between the two means you are literally insane. So if you can't enjoy a heartfelt story about two people that fall in love and have to sneak around because you are projecting yourself and your own sister onto them then you actually have a mental problem. If you dislike this story because of the characters themselves and not the genre that is fine but I'm sick of people having an instant "oh that makes me want to puke" reaction to everything that comes out of a specific genre because they want to show off what a mature and healthy person they are (that can't differentiate a fictional manga from reality).

Anyways onto the story itself: I don't want to spoil anything so I won't touch on specifics but it is full of moments that made me laugh, warmed my heart, and was just a fantastic read so far. I'm a sucker for love stories but this is one of the best I've seen. Also unlike a hundred billion other romance series this relationship actually has seen some progress in the 17 chapters that are currently available so it doesn't look like a complete waste of time for readers that might want to pick it up and see something actually progress and not just the same recycled jokes for hundreds of chapters.

You have no idea how long I've been waiting for something like this

It's like a best of both worlds between a doujin/hentai and manga/anime

+wincest (something that is done half assedly on manga #it is always step siblings or bad end#)
+art like something you find in manga or really good doujin
+their feelings for each other becomes obvious from title on (ambiguity thrown out)
+focuses on the story without worrying for the page limit (like most doujin cuz half of it needs to be actual action so it ends up skipping a few million steps)

This is my first review, and I'm leaving it because this is the first time I've finished a manga on the release day of the final chapter, so it's quite an event for me!
I didn't know what I was in for with this manga but I got exactly what I wanted I think.
Overall 9: Great Manga, if you like this type of manga I strongly suggest it. It's a short read, but well worth it. It's a much more lighthearted approach to a brother/sister love story. I'll add a semi-spoiler down the bottom because I do consider this to be quite unique among the ... other manga I've read.

Art: 6 : because, though the character design is great and the characters are cute! it definitely feels a little off at times, and there are some dynamic scenes that do not look right.

Character: 10 : because you don't really hate anybody, and they don't act too different from how you would expect. Plus Uta is cute.

Enjoyment: 10 : because this is what I wanted. Cute romance they need to hide from the world. Plenty of fluff.

Story: 9 : It doesn't necessarily have a lot going on, just day to day for the most part, then it eventually hits some drama like most slice-of-life's do. I'm not one to want the drama to go on too long, my poor heart can only take so much pain. But siscon/brocon blows through the drama at record speed, the last few chapters feel rather rushed for that reason.

The biggest problem when reading these types of stories is they often pull out half-measures on the ending, trying to keep publishers and people who wouldn't even read this type of manga, happy. This one has the follow through to a happy ending with no half measures.

Something I want to add onto the end: I feel like there's always a few special moments in manga's and anime's that'll stick with you forever. For me, in this manga it's the speech following "Uta, why do you think it is couples get married?" It's moments like that, that make this Manga rather unique to me. Most of the time incest romances involve the characters hating the fact they fell in love with their sibling, hating themselves, wishing it was different. Ritsu and Uta aren't rejecting or embracing it, but they have a different view on the situation and overall seem happy that they love each other.

This is a vanilla sibling incest romance SOL story which isn't terrible or outstanding. It has all the elements one might want out of a taboo love story and the characters are likeable but somewhat flat at times. There's angst as expected but the story takes an overall optimistic tone. The plot is reasonably realistic despite the silly sounding premise and I was able to connect with the characters and their struggles. The siblings' relationship contained a good amount of ambiguity in the transition between stereotypical close siblings and incestuous lovers over it's development, without overly stressing the "will they won't they."

You'll likely come ... to read this if you like the genre, and it may be a decent one to pipeline your besties with.

Story: 7. I think it's good. It's niche as F because it's literally a story of a brother and sister dating and kissing and stuff. Taboo as hell. So I guess if that's what gets your rocks off, then damn this is real good lol. I didn't score this story higher because the pacing was a bit all over the place. I felt like it slowed down quite a bit near the end, and the middle was a bit too quick... Also it's still odd... called me old fashioned lol. The reaction from the parents wasn't how I hoped. But hey, I love a good ... love story and this was written pretty well for its content. So I'm happy with a 7.

Art: 9. Fantastic art, not sloppy and lots of detail and great scenes. I really like the multipage style where a scene can go across 2 pages. Very cool.

Character: 8. The writing of the two main characters and the way they interact with others (school mates, parents, etc) is very good. It's literally what made this story believable, and gave me a sense of sympathy and emotion to the characters. This delicate subject would be easy to blow open and have the story go to shit, but good job author, you really did a good job here.

Overall, I gave it a 7. It's a well written story for a such a taboo topic, and it's a love story so hey... But I couldn't stop reading. I can't say that I felt emotional or turned on from all of it, but I was much more curious as to what the author was going to make of the story. This kind of stuff is super challenging to someones writing ability and I was quite impressed.

Siscon Ani to Brocon Imouto ga Shoujiki ni Nattara was a manga I first encountered whe nI saw a panel of it in a meme I decided to check it out the night before and got enjoyed it so much I finished it the same night I read it. The art of the manga is good, I wouldn't consider anything innovative but the girls in it are cute and it isn't absolute eyesore to look at. The story is something I really like about this as instead of doing what the big series like Oreimo and Ero-manga sensei do where it is just a harem ... with the main girl being the little sister the story does just focus on it being just them and not having alot of other girls come in and compete for the main character's affection. I also enjoyed how the story was pretty wholesome alot of the way through and not really focusing on any echhi stuff and being funny with wholesome between the love interests. Overall I personally think it was great and I prefer it over other series like Oreimo and Ero-manga sensei.

This is what I'm looking for in a romance story. Don't get me wrong, I'm not into incest, I only like it because it creates a lot of tension in the story I swear. I don't remember laughing out loud while reading but I thought some parts were funny. The story is basically just about the siblings trying to have a relationship and keeping it hidden for obvious reasons adding tension to the story. I don't remember the character development that well but I think it happens. The only thing that really irks me is the beginning part with the MC's reason for not being ... able to hang out with his friends (come on there were other things you could have used as an excuse). Anyway, this is pretty good, would recommend to romance readers.

Some people here rating this show badly because of the content as if the title didn't exactly tell them what they were getting into beforehand.. I feel like that has severely impacted what the actual rating should be, so I will rate it slightly higher than I think it should be..
Technically I think this should be an 8, not a 9, but I'll make it a 9 to hopefully offset some other narrowminded people, or at the very least because it makes me slightly salty.

Now, as for the manga, I don't think I ever went from "Oww", to "Eww", to "Aww" that quick.
The further you ... go into it, it actually gets wholesome, and dramatic, something that wouldn't have been possible it they had slapped the "step" sticker onto it.
We all know that meme, the slapping the duct tape on the leak ad with the word "step" in the caption.
Well, I mean we all understand it's fiction right? So trying to be edgy and shocking while slapping the word step onto it in hindsight is cowardly to me, in this case the author did not, he fully committed, and it made the story that much more interesting and dramatic.
If only people would just step out of their comfortzones, separate fiction from reality, and keep reading even though the back of their minds is telling them "Eww", eventually they'd get to the "Aww".
Unfortunately it seems not everyone is able to do that..
I for one find it a very compelling story so far, one that is not afraid to commit, and doesn't feel the need to grasp for emergency ropes such as "step" or "adopted", out of fear for public opinion, and it makes for better storytelling in my opionion.
Do I think this would be okay in real life? No. Just like I don't with many other fictional topics, hence the word fiction.

Soo, I finished the whole thing, and I gotta deduct at least a point, first there wasn't nearly enough outrage, it seemed weirdly unnatural, the friends were instantly over it and accepting, so was the mother, also there was one particular person (I won't spoil it) that knew, but didn't seem even slightly disturbed, not even surprised, and there was this weird thing about playing games or something that was just brought up every time as if he was some sort of casanova because he was good at videogames, which makes no sense but also was written in a way that just seemed very forced.
I think in the end I'd give it a 7.6 to 7.8, so rounding up it'd be an 8, which is still very good
