Isekai except this time it's Kingdom Administration.

A Japanese guy about to start university is summoned to another world through a hero spell except this time, instead of being a warrior, he becomes the king and shows his talents as an administrator. There are a few similar titles like this, but the simplest comparison is the episode in No Game No Life when Sora and Shiro take care of all the Kingdom's problems by rotating crops, cleaning up government, etc.

Like a lot of other Isekai stories that don't solely focus on battle, the MC knows an absurd amount of very convenient things (like how to manage ... a forest properly, the recipe for concrete, or how to audit expense records), and also possesses an insane amount of leadership skill and political competence. That said, it's still entertaining.

If you've ever daydreamed about going back in time and how you would use your contemporary knowledge to gain power and reform the past, then this manga will probably interest you.

Oh, and the women have sinfully large boobs. I'm not talking about bowling balls or melons here, I'm talking about pumpkins, plural. I can't tell if it's horrifying or amazing.

9 Chapters out currently. Most scans have small print so it's worth looking around to find images with high resolution so you can zoom without losing quality.

It truly pains me to write that I'll be dropping this. Minor spoilers below.

The premise of this manga is so interesting, and it is performed so well. In many ways it is like the slime isekai, except it feels much more believable. The politics are engaging and somewhat realistic, and the characters are enjoyable. It's no masterpiece of writing or intrigue, but it's definitely quite good.

I knew something was up when I saw the harem tag on various websites though, and that should have been warning enough, but I carried on. That was a mistake. The art-style used when drawing the female characters is honestly ... pretty suspicious as is, but around chapter 40 the harem finally becomes official and the protagonist starts marrying left and right.

The most dissapointing thing really, is that he hasn't even made any romantic moves on his first wife yet. So he's basically gathering women like Pokémon, and they of course fall in love with him by the dozen. It's so clear that the female characters' writing is seriously suffering from having to fit into the harem framework. Strong warrior-general types get reduced to small school-girls when confronted with out protagonist, and girls who 10 chapters ago state that they'd absolutely want to keep him to themselves (sensible) are suddenly fine with him having a harem "for the sake of the kingdom".

It's just typical isekai nonsense, and I personally can't stand it. It ruins any chance at serious romance, since it will always be a turn-based ordeal, rotating between the heroines. If I wanted wish-fulfillment I'd be reading a trashy rom-com or something.

As it stands, the writing of many of the most important characters just stops making sense whenever the protagonist is involved; and on top of the blatant sexualisation that was already taking place I just can't beat with it any more.

By all means, if these things are not an issue (or even a plus) to you, go ahead and read this. Everything aside from this is quite good, and the art is also nothing to scoff at. It's quality manga, it's simply a shame that it had to be sabotaged by this sweaty harem garbage.

It's just bad.

The story feels forced, the conflict is fake and artificial (especially with how black and white it is), and the characters are very surface-level, at best typical anime tropes without any real substance to make them whole and at worst a boring white canvass that the author forgot to paint with desire and personality. Because of that, automatically, the harem just feel lame, and any attempt from them to comfort the hero for his self-proclaimed struggles just don't work at all.

But enough negativity, now let's try to get to the good sides.

Art is nice, even if the fight scene is kinda meh ... and the war/battles just feel so barebone (I guess that's more of a story problem than art, though maybe arranging the panels could make it a bit more dynamic? I don't know, I'm no manga artist). Still, most of the characters look decent.

The author also seems to have some passion for the story's themes (military tactics, political philosophy, etc.), so maybe his real problem is how to input them into writing a good and coherent story. He does seem to have some interesting ideas. I believe that the mention about military tactic and leaving it to the people that know better around chapter 30 is proof of that, even if it really is just a small thing. That was a nice change of pace compared to other isekai story with similar setting where the protagonist just try to micromanage every single thing because they're somehow that good despite having no experience at all in their world. (I think this series still has that exact issue, but at least it *tries* to do that a bit)

In conclusion, overall this feels like a self-indulgence story from an amateurish writer, trying to do something beyond his skill. I can appreciate the spirit but that doesn't mean I can enjoy the result. Still, I think both the artist and author have a good potential in doing their things. I wish them good luck.
