THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE.
----------------------------------------
Heavy on the flashbacks here, really heavy, but I guess they were pretty relevant. We get to know a little more about Daichi and his past relationship with Keita. This is all supposed to explain why he wants to ‘save’ Keita from his ‘fate.’ And isn’t his plan something weird like know where your doppeliners are, and avoid them? I’m sure Keita could have come up with that—his real problem comes from the Terra he loses being a sub. The whole thing with Akane was, again, no big surprise at all. It basically seemed like; from when we first met her she had feelings for Keita. Even that kiss was such a weird interaction; I’m finding she’s joining in on the band of whiny characters. And Akane thinks Keita has become a stronger person since his pact? Okay. However, the big, important news of this episode is that there was no real fighting action to speak of, mainly lots of talking and powerboats. No synchro, nothing like that—but in the end Keita and Kuro come face to face with Reishin (and he must be, what, a few yards from the Terra stone at this point?). That didn’t take too long right? Only eleven episodes, and considering the fact she’s been hunting down to kill her brother from episode one, Kuro is doing quite well. This was, again, on par with what I have come to expect from Kurokami.

Well, I gotta say, I liked this episode. It's probably the best one of the bunch. They chose to actually tell a story and not screw it up with lame synchro. I agree that Akane kissing Keita was weird. Especially because she seems so much older than him. Isn't that statutory?

Regardless, I finally have a character (Daichi) that I like, and whose motivations are at least relatable to me. Even if something does seem really duplicitous with him and Keita.

well daichi/kuraki/(whatever his name is now) also shows himself betraying akane by calling her root. It's getting hard to tell which side he is really on. Well the next episode will be lots of battle scenes and betrayal and whatever else they can throw our way so it should be fun.

Pretty interesting episode, I liked it. Sawamura is such a schemer, I can't wait to see what he's up to.

Also, it feels a bit early for a confrontation between Kuro and Reishin...I wonder how the story will develop from now own.

That's not necessary true, because Akane is the Root. This was clear from the time Excel and Steiner found Akane and didn't find the idea that she was a contractee to be odd, though that turned out to be a misunderstanding, learning that Keita, a substitute, is the actual contractee. And Kuraki even says on the phone that "I have found your Root." to his boss.

regardless he still betrayed her by calling the president. Now she's gonna confront Akane and have people try and kill her.

this episode was one of the better ones. I like how they explained who Daichi was but I'm still baffled by his role in all this. It seems like he just wants to be in control and have all the power for himself.

What if he isn't? If Akane is the Root, mightn't Daichi be calling the president so that she can face her? If Akane were to face the President in a situation where there was no danger to her, it would mean later death to the president, right? So Daichi still might be on Keita's side, if that's his plan.

Even if that is to be the case, I presently don't trust him. Seems way to shady.

The one thing that really made me think this wasn't the case was when Daichi was out alone on the veranda thinking about the time Keita saved him from those other students, and he said to himself, 'Ibuki, it's my turn to save you.' It seemed genuine, he was considering the past, there wasn't anyone he was talking to who he would he could be lying to, it was just him, thinking to himself. It seemed he really cared about him.

Yeah, same thoughts here. But average episode, nothing special. We'll see what happens to Akane next episode...

I want to agree with you but the fact of the matter is, the president can still kill Akane just as Keita's mom was killed by one of her clones. That fact that Daichi is putting Akane in danger behind Keita's back is enough to make me hate him.

I was lol'n at first thinking Akane denied but then she pulls off a kiss. What a shotacon isn't she like 30? lol. I have to say this pacing is pretty good and the episode all together wasn't bad. I also had a tingle in my sack during the kiss that maybe something might happen to Akane.

I think shes like 25 or 26 and Keita is like 18 or 19 since he's still in high school. haha still a pretty big age gap.

the last couple eps. haven't been that great but i enjoyed this one even if there was not fighting or synchro. i don't think that daichi is tricking them. i think that's what they want us too think but he's actually on their side. he's just keeping some info from everyone else so that they don't do anything dumb. i think this is finally getting good.

Good episode, iim pretty sure Diachi is not evil because if he actually is siding with reishin, then kuro has no chance of even scratching reishin.
most likely hes planning something, but since this has deviated from the manga entirely, i have no idea what they are going to do.

He's on neither one's side. He already said that, thats why he supposedly wants Keita to join him. Diachi's motives are the exact opposit of Reishin. Reshin wants total chaos and disorder where as Diachi wants total control over the system. The real reason for why he wants control is still unknown though..

I actually enjoyed this episode a lot more than the rest. The flashbacks were needed so we could see their relationship before. Is it just me or do they look really alike.

I love how this anime has dropped about 600 places. It just goes to show how amazing it it =D

I'm actually hesitation on watching this episode; I'm afraid it'll be too good and I might die.

What happens if it's even better than the last episode? The world will explode!

I kind of thought that all of the flashbacks were unnecessary. And I so saw that kiss with Akane and Keita coming. They were all dramatic about a hug and I was just "huh? Really?". It was really weird for me. She's like his sister and she looks way older than him. But the next episode looks pretty intense.

Great episode! Akane was finally able to express her feelings...though if this plays out like most of these situations do. She will more than likely not make it, guess we'll just have to wait and see.

This episode is more interesting that previous episode since it has more twists in it. Sawamura is hard to predict, but I am interested in him and his plan. I’m glad to see Akane finally able to state her feelings to Keita. I can’t wait to watch the next episode for Kuro and his brother fight each other.

Well Akane is screwed. Never trust megane who give off a sinister grin in every other scene.

I think this is one of the better episodes so far. Felt like it managed to have a firmer grip on how to tell a plot.
