My apologies for being such a dickhead.

I gave it another chance and... Wow. I guess I was in an off mood that day. I don't know.

Seems like I'm going to have to re-watch pretty much every short and Memories Magnetic Rose now.

I can't believe the guy who made this is only 30... Would expect a much older guy to make something like this.

Symbolism people. The movie tells a wonderful, yet simple and touching tale of an old man's past, using unique and stunning animation and beautiful music to capture the emotion the old man feels. (that's the short version)

THERE. If you don't find it touching you're trying to hard.

I loved it! It was sad, yet happy (?)

It made me teary.

Its a great tale of an old man's life in a house that he lived in. He rebuilds it time and time again when the water rises. Going through each of the houses, it shows a past of each house.

From the first to the last house, its the past to the present.

I guess the reviewer did tell us the truth. This movie isn't for everyone.

And I guess you have to relate to fully enjoy the life of the old man in what I call a masterpiece.

Excellent animation, innovative style, wonderful music, and one of the more touching stories I've ever watched. And in just 12 minutes. I can't write any adjective to make it justice.

One of my favorite anime ever.

i bumped it to a 10. it's impossible to put more emotion into a short film. i can't even begin to describe how well everything fits together (animation, sound, general dynamics...)

I honestly cannot think of anything that is wrong with this film. It is a masterpiece that everyone should watch. Anyone that doesn't like it does not deserve to bask in the glow of fine art such as this.

An easy 10.

Awww, I liked that. It reminded me of the Snowman. You know, that Christmas movie by Raymond Briggs. Same style and storytelling.

However to give it a 10 is a bit much. Obviously something that short has a high chance of getting everything perfect. You don't start at 10 then mark something down for everything it does wrong. It's a 7 or 8 from me.

That was truly heartwarming. Amazing how only twelve minutes of a movie successfully packed lots of emotions. I was smiling and then somehow got teary-eyed. Definitely one of the best short movies I've come across so far.

The French vibe reminded me of this, which I think most folks itt will appreciate:

It makes you feel all kinds of emotions that the man had, and the parallel from underwater to his past was revealed very good.

I almost didn't like this. I mean...don't get the wrong idea. It was beautiful, unique, artistic, wonderfully expressive and impressionistic, but...for some reason, I felt so uncomfortable watching it. Regardless of how I feel, it was very good, and I'm curious about that world.

I just watched it today. It was stunning! It may be 12 minutes long but it gives you the feeling that you've known that man your entire life. The way everything was portrayed was very moving.

I'm giving it top score and it's definitely on my favourites.

The message is simple: STOP GLOBAL WARMING.

Anyways, I thought it was a nice short piece. I wouldn't consider it a masterpiece status, as it isn't really memorable or legendary in any way for me, but I'll give it an uneasy 10 for being a greatly fulfilling experience.

It reminded me of the beginning of Up. Very touching look at someone's life; I definitely liked how they showed that with the levels of his house.

This. It's the sad bit in Up where you think "Wow, they could just end the film there and make it a tragedy."
