Damn, dat emotions ;.;

I really liked the atmosphere of this OVA. Ginko is busy once again on his journey. http://imgur.com/XAJokOL

Thankfully some of the voices remained the same as the original series. This really bought me back nostologia tbh. The ending too was satisfying. And...OMG:

Edit: According to the official website, a second season of the anime series Mushishi, entitled Mushishi: Zoku-shou, has been announced. It is slated to begin sometime in April. The production staff and cast will remain the same as the first season. The project is reported to be split into 2-cours.

ah, great show.

I'm glad that I checked crunchyroll's winter lineup this morning. I was very surprised to see that not only was mushishi's OVA airing on crunchyroll, but it was set to air an hour from when I checked, hahaha.

as always with mushishi I enjoyed watching. same feel as always.
the episode finishes and I'm sitting there enjoying the ending music, and a season season is revealed!
a really great way to start the week-end and the new year.

2014 is over, let's just skip ahead to 2015.

45 minutes is not an hour. You lied to me MAL page.

Seriously though this was wonderful.
This was also my first experience with the sub which felt a little bit lacking to me since i'm so used to the English dub (one of the best dubs around imo).

Noooo. If you skip 2014 then you'll miss season 2.

Just great, it's amazing how much Mushishi can accomplish in such a short period of time. I re-watched the original not to long ago and was already missing it so much. Very enjoyable special, what a way to start the year. They focused more on the side characters in this one unlike the original, we even had a flashback, it was still great though, just a bit different. The new OST is absolutely brilliant as well, calming yet mysterious, some felt a lot like the OST of the original but with little changes here and there. Yeah, I can't wait for the sequel, best Anime news in years.

Aaahhh! That nostalgia was so goood :D

Especially loved the scene during the eclipse when they showed us all the previous characters with that awesome OST. Was so great ^^

The atmosphere and the emotions were so good too. This series is just too good. And Ginko is just BA :D

Can't wait til April ^^

The very first sound brought back all the feelings from watching the original series. Constant 'awww' and eyes getting wet for no reason... Great scenes, awesome soundtrack and a really lovely story.

Waiting for April.

I shed a tear. This story got me. I'm so glad Mushishi's back!!

This episode wasn't in the manga right? I have no recollection of this story. Anyway, mushishi is awesome even if it's a filler!

And the ending pretty much indicate the sequel will be a one cour. Better than nothing :D

Normally you'd expect a special to be not that "special" since it's just like a side story from the main plot in most anime. But this special... was just a continuation of the same feel, themes, art style, and storytelling as the other episodes. I missed you, Mushishi, welcome back.

Yeah, I don't remember it either. Now that a second season is announced (HELLYEAH!), it makes sense this one to be an original story. Perhaps it's a bonus story in the luxury manga edition?

Damn, it was beautiful and heart-warming!

I liked how Hiyori reacted frustrated, angry, and selfish - change is never easy in a limited world, yet it became a world which expanded through love. And usually, the mushi affect arbitrary the lives of humans, but these mushi ringed with the sisters' personalities.

You're damn right about that, but I still really enjoyed the sub. Ginko still a boss. Even though he should just be giving the orders and waiting to get paid for saving them, he's actually hands on with the labor. Respect.

Man, April can't come soon enough. The peaceful yet melancholy OST, the touching and meaningful writing and brilliant situational character relations, and one of the best MC's to come around. It's gonna be a great spring.

Nostalgia overriding my senses. Downright gorgeous. The OST is as hauntingly beautiful as ever. This feeling of contentment fills my chest and makes my heart explode. This is it. This is a fair enough reason to keep on living.

This special reminded me why Mushishi is one of the best anime I ever seen.
Guys, the atmosphere, the fucking magic atmoshpere. Mushishi is one of the few that can make me completely immerse in the story.

Masuda-sama at the music, is simply brilliant. Without him Mushishi couldn't be called Mushishi imo. Also, Ginko's VA is perfect.

So, I can't wait for the magic Sprinter that awaits us. 9/10 without a doubt.

I agree with just about everything everyone has posted so far. Great episode and OST's as usual.

It's been over 7 years since the last episode of Mushishi, but this special feels like it could be a part of the first season; they kept the same formula that makes Mushishi a masterpiece.

Can't wait for the next season!

This was truly something special. Contentment is the simplest word that this special, and Mushishi overall, has given me. It didn't give me any longing or sadness after ending (I'm absolutely hyped for Season 2, which is a different manner), but instead, it just left me to appreciate it for what it is, and not what it didn't achieve to be. Mushishi is perfect the way it is.

Brilliant stuff. Classic Mushishi.

I'm so used to the dub that all their voices were jarring to me. It didn't take too long until I warmed up to Ginko's voice, though.

We are fortunate to get a 2nd season of Mushishi, especially in today's anime market. Very fortunate.
