THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE.

It was great seeing Kanuka in action again, but I find that kid annoying right to the end, and finally giving Kumagami some characterization beyond the superficial this way seems kind of ham-fisted to me, making her look like a buffoon on top of that.

I feel that this story arc was better handled in the TV show, here it was kind of just for the sake of it, and it still has an open ending considering Richard Won(g?) was not captured.

duh fuk was dat

r u fkn srs

They mentioned briefly that Kumagami was affiliated to Richard, and then finally, they try to make her seem so important even when she NEVER felt like she belonged to SV2.

And what the fuck was that ending??? What kind of a reaction was that of Noa after seeing Bud cry???

the fuck

This was really disappointing and i think the Bud reveal could have been handeled so much better. If Won still comes back i hope they finish the storyline with a bang and not a thud.

At the moment i'm thinking that it would have been better not even continue the griffin arc if this is what we are getting.

People, remember Bud is a brainwashed kid tricked into commiting acts of terrorism for the sake of an evil corporation. Our heroes wouldn't look cool if they beat the shit out of him while he is crying right after being freed from those villains and that videogame-like illusion.

"This isn't America!" xD

Well I guess that marks the end of the "TV series plot" part of the OVA? The part about arresting a former lover surely reminded me of a later Patlabor entry...

the relation of Kumagami with Richard Wong is a kind of blue print for the one between Tsuge Yukihito and Cpt. Shinobu Nagumo in Patlabor 2. The handcuff scene is almost the same. But in Patlabor 2 it was way better tanks to Oshii's directing.
