| Even with his muscles and blood vessels torn apart in the inside, he still lugged on forward to face Wamuu no matter how futile it was. He was a brave warrior who used the last of his power to save someone else just like his progenitors. Wamuu was impressed by his prowess and how he died with his honor intact so there's no doubt that the Zeppeli bloodline's proud of him. Rest in peace, Caesar-chan... I still remember how much I teared up when he died in the anime. |

| As much as I said I wasn’t rooting for one side over the other, I did get emotional this chapter. It was when we had Wham tell Caesar that he was already dead that I first felt it. Specifically it was the look of complete desperation on Caesar’s face as he knew his punches wouldn’t amount to anything. It was kind of horrifying. But Wham’s response to Caesar as he gave his all and sacrificed himself for Joseph and for his own pride, it was also something quite notable. Even if he didn’t understand Caesar’s values, he did respect them and his final wishes. The panels of him observing the death of a warrior were delicate. He really cared about Caesar’s final moments and saw him off. I have to wonder if a part of Wham, however small, did feel for Caesar beyond his strength. Caesar, it’s a shame you died so young. But it seems he’s completed the pattern of mainline Zeppeli’s, he went on a mission for his dead father’s sake and he died with honor to help his Joestar comrade. I wonder if any future Zeppeli’s will live past their Joestar counterpart, that could be a charming twist! |
