Fans in Japan are talking whether Tsutomu Mizujima will direct it.

* Tsutomu Mizujima is the director of Ika-Musume the anime.
So MAL finally starts locking news threads that are only a few weeks old?

I wonder where was the announcement of this change? Or we are seeing yet another case of changes made that impacted users but not communicated to them?

I wonder how long people would put up with this.

As much as I have a bunch of information to share about anime announced recently I cannot share it in news board, and the anime series is too disorganized and chaotic to share information except with people already interested in the particular series.

As much as I love memaids, charadesign of this one looks pretty boring. Well, I'll wait for anime version of art, maybe it'll be better.

Was interested at "mermaid". Then saw art, saw "shounen," and read synopsis. Sounds like mediocrity in the making.

We'll see though.

There are plenty of slice of life mangas that run in shonen magazines. Shonen doesn't mean its just a bunch of guys fighting eachother.. it means its aimed at a teenage boy demographic.

MAL is the dark underbelly of the anime community. While other naive fanboys and fangirls run around in real life forming clubs and squealing in deafening high pitch noises about their favourite animus, we remain here, meticulously dismantling the credibility of each and every show, until all that remains is a steaming pile of tropes and ass pulls which we then devour to gratiyfy our glutinous and masochistic desires.

I see. I've personally never seen one (unless Tsuritama or Danshi Nichijou counts?) so that was quite the eye opener.
Should have figured there was such a thing though considering how much genres mix these days.

Ika-Musume is Shounen Slice of Life, for example.

Aria is a shounen if you look by magazine. There are many mature series in shounen magazines and many infantile in seinen ones so you need to be careful with demographics labels. But in this case it does look generic.

Really? It reminds me more of SnH because it's comedy/SoL and it kinda sounds similar. Mermaid Melody is mahou shoujo anime, doesn't seem to have much in common except mermaids.
