| THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ----------------------------------------  Overall, I thought this was an average episode with a lot of dialogue again and Yui spending time behind the wheels. Well, good thing later half of the episode had a little more action. It does like the commander is going to take the initiative leading her troops but Yui might be in some trouble because the ending.. |

| In pinch but they need to wait for head up's instruction. They argue about why not realizing those enemies sooner. No help from head-up going to be sent? for testing those on field on what to solve the situation. So... it's been not liking to take care of this battle at all? The leader made explosion and stayed there. She is thinking about OnoD's character, who came to the rescue. |

| another blah episode just like last week :/ with this one, the twists, while good, have little to no impact which is prob why I'm not digging it. Or maybe it feels as if when they talk its so monotonous. Still enjoyed it though. | These episodes have been great. I don't get the problem with people and dialogue heavy episodes. Muv luv is, in the first place, a wordy novel. The time you spend actually fighting with beta is not even 10% of the total. It's not supposd to be about action all the time because fighting wih the beta ALWAYS ends up as humans loosing way mroe than BETA. If there was as much fighting as people seem to hope there was, this wouldn't even last 8 episodes until humans went extinct. |

Blame the studio for making the first 2 episodes the way they did, and misleading the audience into thinking that it'll be a violent gorefest where the majority of the cast will be killed off every few eps. |

| While the twists were interesting, I felt the studio deliberately made this as drawn-out as possible to build up the next episode. That would be fine if the series had done well up until this point, but it has so far tarnished the Muv Luv universe I grew to love from the visual novels. |

| They really are building it up, huh? I'm guessing the budget was tight and they really had to limit those expensive to animate combat scenes. Yui is got some pretty nimble moves too. The way she got rid of the Soviet squad was very effective. Let's see how she get's away from the BETA though. The Yamamoto dude is so dead. |

| Those red BETAs are the most creepy ones out of all of em so far... Looking forward to the next episode... kinda have an idea how it will go but they might throw in a twist or two that will make it interesting. ^_^ |

| That was awfully long and a bunch of set up for the obvious conclusion that it's nothing but a set up by the Russians. To get rid of their own soldiers in Zhar battalion and get the weapon for themselves. I'd like to see the Beta actually do something not just be manipulated by the Russians. Yuuya and the rest did nothing this time. |

| It was clear that the where after the gun from the start but to go as far as abandoning a base just to get that gun. This will only place distrust amongst there own ranks since they can also figure out that this was planned out and it must be pretty hard on them seeing there own base lost not to mention the men power that is lost with it plus the men power it's going to take to recapture the base just for that gun. And for the UN it should also be obvious that they where after the gun which will also create distrust with there relationship with them. Then there is also the question why the maintenance stall of the type 99 gun didn't know what to do when they heard the orders of Lt Dahl they should have been informed that the technology of the gun should not end up in enemy hands. It's also surprising that none of them knew the self-destruct code. And now Yui ends up risking her life to set of the gun by herself luckily one of the maintenance grew managed to hide from the Soviets so he could destroy the gun. It also seemed like Soviet command was sending the Zhar battalion towards there death as well with the base the needed to protect which was basically abandoned. I also don't recognise the strict behaviour which Germans are supposed to have according to Anime and manga. I agree with you that Russians are often portrayed as the bad guys in media the main cause of this is rather simple. Much entertainment you see in Western country's arrived from the United States and even tho relations between the US and Russia are relatively good nowadays they have been enemy's for a long time in the past. And Russia is also a superpower like the US which makes them a strong enemy which could cause some serious damage to the US. These two reasons make them a good villain for movies and such. In the first scene Yui has a test simulation of the Type 99 gun inside a hive with some other White Fang units and they get slaughtered. After that, is a scene with some high ranking officer of the Japanese army discuss something about future TSF unit development and the gun (sorry, I didn't quite get that part because I'm not that good in Japanese and the translator wasn't making any sense at all) and finally there is Tarisa's fight with the Twins and Yuuya's arrival at Alaska (which is basically the same with the anime). |

Yeifei and Tarisa are hospitalized for the injuries they received, Cryska and Inia have been unconscious since the battle and are kept off limits in the Russian labs, yuuya's attempt at visiting them have been denied. ---Meanwhile, new "TOP SECRTE" orders have arrived for the people of project PROMINICE along with a SU-47 from Russia. Several people remarks at how this own thing smells fishy and that shit is about to go down all over the world soon. ---At the headquarter building, Yui finishes making her report of the recent events to her Uncle through Video conference. As she leave the HQ she was gunned down by an unknown assailant, as she lies in her own blood she looks up in to the sky ........(at least it wasn't a BOOM headshot) Also to further explain the circumstance a bit. The base was infiltrated by terrorists(save the refugees /americans killed my family/fuck those american and some other reasons). they wrecked havoc across the base with IEDs and stolen F-16s. Releasing the captive BETAs on base and drawing in another group of beta from the outside. The actual number of BETA involved is actually not that much and quite manageable with the base 's firepower. However This is all to create a illusion for the automated system monitoring the Hydrogen bombs placed under the soviet base in secret by the Americans years ago to blow away the commies if this base ever gets overrun. The old shity antique system now detects BETA within the base and BETAS heading towards the Base so it armed the Bombs. This was the goal of the Terroists, dissension among the Soviets and Americans with the revelation of the bomb. The Russians are made aware of the Bomb's existence(boy are they going to be pissed at the Americans after this) and while the base is busy dealing with the terrorists, the commander made the decision to remove the limiters on Cryska and Inia to eliminate all BETA presence in and around the Base. i liked to put the spoiler tag but i dont know how sorry SERIOUSLY DUDE???? |

| Wow, so the whole thing was a setup by the Soviets so they could get the classified weapon when everyone evacuated before the BETA shows up. Yuuya will save Yui and destroy or maybe even take the weapon, I'm sure! |

| About the preview, here is what I think of it with the preview out. From the looks of the following,  Base is going to get overrun and this is going to be the pits of episode 2 all over again. Get ready for gore and some censored. People being eaten and dying along with massive shit to traumatize the viewers. Rest in the list
