It would be ~59.6k average if the previous week's Vol 5 sales have already been added in for the current ~58.6k average listed on the Anime Sales thread. Unless a 6th BD+DVD volumes are on the way... or I calculated wrong? Aniplex and Amazon had conflict before I heard. So Fate/Zero BD-BOX II hasn't been up on Amazon for a normal amount of time. 26k is very under-estimated for something that sold 51.3k for the 1st BD-BOX. |

Yeah that might be true, however if the next volumes sell lower then apparently the average outcome would be less than 58k. (Or the 5th vol is the last one? if that's the chase then 58K is likely). Yeah, 26k doesn't seem quite right, but then again, Persona 4 was at 41k+ and dropped down to barely 30k, and unfortunately, at this rate it might average less than that, most animes, especially those top sellers, start their first 3 volumes's sales pretty high, then they start dropping gradually. but like i said before, the otaku got their hands full right now, so yea lol jmal said: Yeah, this is a huge second week, even bigger than Vol. 1. You can see the same with Mouretsu Pirates or Tiger & Bunny. Shows that were more popular than the distributor expected, and didn't print enough copies for the first volume. Sounds fair. Btw how much do you expect SAO, KuroBas, Horizon and TariTari to average? I know the sales are still going, but how much do you personally think each of them would average? Hell it's even 22% better than Vol. 1's total. This usually only happens for bonus episodes or something like that but I don't see anything listed for this volume except an artbox. Oh and btw, a French guy who was art director on Symphogear posted that good news is coming for fans... possibly a sequel? It's a shame that Sankarea, Another and Tasogare bombed so hard. But the weird thing is that all 3 of them involve occultism or horror stuff. So I guess the Japanese Otaku don't like this kind of theme in their late night Anime. I wonder how well other horror/occultism series have done in the past. Another at least has a lot of resources as a franchise to stay alive, with the Live Action movie, the novels and the Manga. |

It's not something that tops the charts often, no. There are no shows since 2000 that have averaged 10k or better that I'd classify as real "horror" anime. Not sure about "occult" since that's a bit harder to define but I'd guess shows like Death Note or Tsukihime or Mononoke would fall under that, so those occasionally sell well. Fate/Zero and Kara no Kyoukai are pretty "occult" too, and they sold great. But that might just be because of Type Moon loyalty instead of normal anime trends. |
