I decided I couldn't wait for the sub of the first episode of this and I have no regrets in regards to that since I'll gladly be watching this again. Awesome episode to start off what may very well be the best action series of the year. Good directing, great atmosphere, nice art and animation, and my kind of love story (the fucked up kind). What's not to like?

First episode didn't really need a sub for the first 10 minutes or so anyhow. The action sequences in the beginning are totally superb. It's not sticking true to the manga, but I personally believe it is a good thing.

Animation is certainly looking promising ... the seiyuu are brill, the soundtrack is worthy, action is wicked and lots of storyline to work with. I'm in for the duration.

The action in this premiere was impressive indeed. I really liked the part where Benkei used the arrows to spring himself up to avoid the arrows, nice piece of animation right there. I also liked that they refined the character designs, the character designs in the manga was not very easy on the eyes.

The endless debate between fans and haters. At one point, after spending a lot of time on MAL, you just realize it's totally pointless.

You mean Kuro, not Benkei.

angel999 said:

It's in the manga. If you read the entire first volume of the manga, you'll get a deeper understanding of wth just happened in the first episode.

Episode 1 pretty much covers the first volume of the manga while skipping some of it. The only thing that bugs me about the anime is that they changed the look of Kuro =\

Also, I'm sorry for the delay of the subs y'all. We're waiting on it to air on BS11 in Japan so we can get a good quality raw.

Unexpectedly good. Well-directed bloody fights, an interesting story and characters. I bet Kuromitsu is immortal because she eats people/drinks their blood.

Nothing special, nothing new.
Story so far is your lame "lets research immortality"-plot, I have no idea what is going to happen, but ill dropp this for sure if nothing new comes in.

Worst series so far this season that I have seen

Vampires and Samurai, an interesting mix. Finally some good samurai anime, Blade of the immortal was utterly disappointing.

Predictable first episode, but the fight scenes were interesting. I'll keep watching for a few more episodes to see if it gets any better. I suppose I should be happy to see at least one show without moe loli girls all over the place (so far). ^_^;

Loved the first episode.
The body-count reminded me of Basilisk :-).

Nice art and use of colurs and textures. If the rest is as good, then this could become one of my fav series of this season.

Interesting premise, and the synopsis seems very promising so I guess I'll watch the second episode at least. A bit too much violence and maybe sex later (as it seems the manga is sexually very explicit). I can overlook that if it's really necessary to the script thou.

Actually, if I'm not mistaken he's the one who gave away the location of Kuro(19:50 or so), you're looking into it too much :P

Of all the starts, this one was a little weird for me. At first I couldn't really get into it, but it turned itself around and was pretty good. A little predictable, but fun. I'll probably stick this out and see how this goes.

Really nice, i took me a while that most of the episode was a flash back and he had already lived for hundreds of years at the start of the series. Is this an post-apolyptic anime? I'm getting more than enough from Casshern, i hope this is jsut normal.

This is going to be VERY post-apocalyptic in the same kind of mood from Casshern Sins....
And no, he didn't live for a few hundred years, he lived for thousands of years, long enough to witness the post-apocalyptic world after a second ice age.

In the manga, everything is messed up so the reader is confused because fo all the time jumps and flashbacks.

The animation was great, the opening felt misplaced now, but if the show evolves into Yoshitsune(I refuse to call him Kurou) living in the contemporary era it'll fit.

Another retelling of Minamoto no Yoshitsune's legend, but it seems to pick up only after he's defeated, and Musashibo Benkei doesn't follow him in his immortality I guess.

I'm gonna hit the manga later.
