DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- It's kinda ridiculous how many times Nanako runs into Kaoru, I mean seriously how small is their school? Also, I thoroughly enjoyed Nanako slapping Saint Just, her reaction to Kaoru's emergency was just wtf. |

| I might be insane but Nanako's rejection of Mariko bothers me. I understand her being disturbed but neglecting and ignoring someone with severe psychological scars probably related to isolation and never having had a friend (perhaps more things revelaed later on) sounds a bit ignorant. |

| It feels like half the characters have death wishes, a quarter of them wish death upon others, and the last quarter are either lost souls or just don't care. It's astounding how cutthroat this cast is. |
| "Please, won't someone explain to me... What is the point of our being born and living?" God, that was powerful. The framing of the scene and the performance by Kaoru's seiyuu were just fantastic. Hearing her cry and saying such things is purely heartbreaking, even though we do not understand her struggles at this point in the series. That's some pretty excellent writing. |

| i finally got a little time to watch an episode. mariko seriously fk'ed it up for herself, if she wanted nanako that bad, she should have thought it out a little more. ensure that she would be able to lock her away somewhere in the house, not let her run away... but that's just the crazy talking in me. the most shocking thing was that those girls literally pushed nanako off of the stage, i thought she broke her leg and i nearly cried from how outrageous nearly everyone's treatment of her is. yes... i did think that she broke her leg and i wanted her to break her leg, that would have broke those weak pansies' consciences. suck it, every student at this prestigious bitch school. and the way saint juste was acting in character in reaction to nanako desperately asking him for pain killers... YOINKS! yikes! there's something wrong up in that cuckoo head... this anime is seriously an anime that can transcend time.. |

| I'm really glad to see how this series is dealing with Mariko after what she did. I'm completely sick of seeing anime typically hailing such over-possessive annoyances as the most romantic people on Earth. |

| Loved that Nanako tried her best to ignore Mariko, she needs to learn some lessons about boundaries. Nanako's slapping Rei's poetry away was great and helping Kaoru was sweet but that ending with Kaoru was heartbreaking. Mariko needs to get exorcised because that table flip was kind of demonic. |

| I didn't expect Nanako to slap Saint-Just in the face, but apparently, it was necessary. I'm glad that Nanako was able to help Kaoru, although Kaoru's condition is making her suffer. Mariko continues her downward spiral of depression. Will Nanako ever speak to her again? |

| This episode was so beautifully crafted to show the contrast of each suffering. Mariko really comes across as too selfish and self-centered even more so when we see Kaoru dealing with real life problems and how Nanako also took it to heart, worrying for her, almost to the point of forgetting about her own problems with Mariko. I can't honestly sympathise with Mariko, yes, she has trauma and abandonment issues but situation with Nanako only shows how getting too desperate will have the opposite to desired effect. Like seriously, if she was a bit smarter and not so hyper fixated on Nanako for some mysterious reason, they could have been slowly building some true friendships together, the three of them including Tomoko. Friends aren't exlusive to be so adamant on "either me or her" approach. What does she think Nanako is to her, a girlfriend? The slap scene was powerful, but I'm glad Rei showed some concern later on. Watching Kaouru suffer is just sad. |
