| From teleporting after repeatedly sneezing because he kept sprinkling pepper on his egg sandwich to punching frogs in the river, Zeppeli's beyond comprehension for the common man with his peculiar breathing powers but seeing him do these Sendo feats was awesome. Chinaman apparently got the idea of going on a Joestar Scavenger Hunt because he overheard people in the village talking about. That only means that Zeppeli acknowledges that he's not the chosen one to destroy the Stone Mask and relegated the duty to slay Dio to Jonathan himself under his tutelage. |

| Rei_III summarized what’s so bizarre about this series well, and although many of these ideas aren’t so bizarre on their own they definitely come together in an unexpected way. However, I’d have to say Zeppeli is the most bizarre element of the series so far. Zeppeli who looks just perplexing with his top hat design and his tie, as well as his weirdly beautiful eyes. He who seemingly teleports and prepares lots of sandwiches with a supply of pepper in which he sneezes from intentional or not... Unlike all the other parts of the series which feels like an unorthodox mix of elements that aren’t hard to grasp, he comes in like an insane slap to the face. So, Zeppeli shows that a lot of what he knows about the situation comes from lots of research and training specifically because he knew of this mask and its possibilities. He was preparing for this day. He knows about the fire and what happened due to Dio’s now zombie henchman, the poison seller. There's still some questions left but I suppose they could be answered by his investigation on the Joestars and inference. He somehow knew Dio didn't die but perhaps that simply comes from his knowledge on what the mask is. I'm just shocked he knew Erina’s name beyond all else that part doesn’t fall into place for me! As for this power Sendo, Zeppeli activated the capability to breathe like this when he poked Jonathan's lung and that probably sped up the learning process a lot. The power itself is very confusing, so breathing is connected to blood, blood carries oxygen to the lungs, the oxygen is connected to our cells, the cell is the body, and thus breathing creates ripples in our body like the ripples he made in the pond. As confusing as that is we've seen that it can heal near instantly, it can seemingly allow for Zeppeli to teleport, it allows him to casually jump incredible heights, and it has an incredibly controllable destructive power. I did find the demonstrations of what the power does quite striking too. I had thought that Zeppeli was going to make the frog explode but quickly I realized what was really going to happen. To show the control over passing ripples through the frog into the rock is immensely more impressive than making a small animal explode. Further, to have the healing in Jonathan's body continue passing through to revive flowers was interesting and pretty. I think it was implied that he naturally and accidentally directed that healing into the flowers as well. Zeppeli suggested that Sendo and the masks are two different sides of each other, front and back. What if the mask activates within the brain the powers that Zeppeli activated by pressing in Jonathan's lung? That doesn’t sound right but it may be something. Both powers were already capabilities of the body but activated externally by injecting something into the body, both offer power and healing abilities, although Dio’s did seem far more brutal. I don't know exactly what Zeppeli meant by them being two different sides of Sendo, but we can already see some comparisons between both powers. All of a sudden Jonathan and Dio feel closer in strength. The only way he could have taken Dio down in the mansion was a sacrificial technique but perhaps he won't have to go that far anymore as even when doing that he was in a troubling spot. I had been wondering about what Erina knew, it seems to protect her Jonathan will try and stop her from learning all of the details. That said, if Dio learns of Jonathan and Erina getting back together I can bet that he will target her again. In that way Jonathan is kind of a superhero, what is important to him will be targeted if it becomes known. Lastly, there have been a few mentions of fate. Speedwagon suggested Erina and Jonathan's meeting was fate, and now Zeppeli seems to think that Jonathan is fated to take on Dio. Not only that but there was also the very spiritual inheriting of his father's soul. Or the line “your destiny has changed”. Just something to keep in mind. |
