| I hate how much they are portraying Shun as this soft, defenseless character..its annoying. This episode sucked. As much as I love Shun, I was disappointed in seeing his fight for the Andromeda cloth..I think they could have done better with that. |

| I've wanted to know more about Shun's backstory since June was introduced and I'm glad we got it. Andromeda island hosted a cast of interesting characters, including a love interest, some rivals with great designs, and a master who could keep up with Miro and may have been able to beat him. And the sacrifice ritual was incredibly in tone with everything as well as one of the coolest ways for a Saint to get their armor, if not the coolest. To put your life on the line to ignite and shatter chains that would drown you otherwise is metal. The first scene was a really good one. Seeing Aphrodite use the chain that Shun set up to keep him in place as Shun's lock to keep him from saving Seiya was brilliant. The way he confidently tugged on it to let him know he's not going anywhere was smug and intimidating. And now we know why Shun reacted the way he did to the rose, because he knew somewhere inside him that Aphrodite may have to do with his masters death. The way he uses the memory of him powering through the near death sacrifice to power through the poison was also nice. It reminded me of the way Seiya reminded himself how to beat the grappler in the 2nd or so episode while he was getting choked out. Reflecting the rose and following him with his chain Arles style was also pretty fun. Enjoying this fight so far, mostly due to backstory around it, but it's still good. |
