one particular thought is this "duty" laser, for neglect of remembering the proper name, which was used to fully charge the power supply of the Impulse Gundam... how convenient considering the dire situation the Minerva was inevitably being entangled in by both Orb and the Alliance. like magic, so to speak.

the other would be this ridiculously thought out"reaching" for another all-out war between the Coordinators and Naturals. without going into detail, i just can't but feel unimpressed with how events suddenly took place to cause such a huge spin for the worst. when comparing the conclusion to the previous war and the war at hand, it just seems somewhat farfetched to conclude the devastation both sides have gone through... only to ride the same wave of conflict again... they know this and willingly rush head first. -_-"

i'm only mentioning this now because of Cagalli's weak resolve and susceptible nature.

Cagalli is surrounded by a bunch of vipers disguised as politicians, who are all trying to circumvent her authority as Princess for their own personal gain- to the point of scolding her like a child in the middle of a diplomatic meeting and attacking another nation's soldiers minutes after peacefully allowing them to leave their country. What the hell. Cagalli's trying to help Minerva, but for some reason after two years doing this job she still doesn't have the understanding or confidence to stand up to her cabinet.

Athrun isn't helping matters either, as rather than helping out his girlfriend during one of the most stressful problems of her life he's off basically joyriding as an ace pilot for ZAFT. I don't care whether the dead rebels were talking about your dad or Shinn was trashtalking you and your girlfriend. If anything, those two incidents should be inspiring you to prove just how different you are from your dad by standing beside the one you love, no matter what! You might not be able to see her all the time and you may not think you're doing much, but it'll give her more confidence to stand up to the mental, physical, and sexual assaults coming at her from all directions.

And Shinn... oh hell, where do I start with this messed-up kid. Having a suit called the "Impulse" definitely fits this guy, because that one word makes up half of his personality. He doesn't think at all, he puts no intelligence into any move he makes- even when he's in SEED Mode all his decisions are either spur-of-the-moment or battle instincts. He lashes out against superiors, friends, enemies and politicians from other fucking countries without a care whatsoever. Yes, his family died in front of him. But he doesn't try to move past that, instead he's stuck firmly in the past reliving that moment over and over again and lashing out over it against everyone else when they've suffered just as much as he has if not more. It's a wonder that he made as far he did, regardless of his skill, because his temperament makes Yzak look tame. Durandal probably plans to use him honestly, just like he's clearly planning to use Athrun and Meer.

I can't believe I'm saying this, but I'm honestly looking forward to seeing Kira set these idiots straight. And I will have you know, last season Kira was one of my least favorite characters. That's just sad.
