One would wonder if Tsukihito and Fist's culmination, which was actually meant for good alongside Yakumo, would be seen through all the way. But none of that matters now with Fist controlling Kagami, and it's all that stands in the way against Hikaru and Alma, brothers fighting against each other in the face of humanity's wrongdoings, for or against the actions that berated both Tsukihito and Yakumo.

The New Order with the rebirth of the Kagami Group, it's definitely leaning onto the good side now with ARMS's philosophy dealing wih similar organizations as they were, as the Mecha-Ude finally head back home through the Gate to whence they belong.

Considering the full anime series in tow, evolving from the pilot ONA of 5.5 years past, Mecha-Ude is a legitimately good show, even by its cliché standards.

And there goes one of my fave shows of the year. It didn’t have all the bells and whistles of expensive and more famous anime, but it was full of heart and spirit. I need a second season or a multimedia project where we get more of this world, asap especially after we set up a new villain, being able to travel between the two worlds and striving towards a society where mecha-arms and humans live in peace.

Orb is the “best” show this season but mecha-ude was what I looked forward to watching the most on a weekly basis. Loved everything about this and knowing it started as a crowdfunded project just makes me appreciate it even more. At times the budget and small team showed but this big fight in the finale looked great. Sawano as usual cooked up. Chills.

Tsukihito and Yakumo being betrayed was a hell of a twist to drop on us, I think this show did a good job of not being too predictable and having some cool storytelling. I honestly can’t even blame arm for crashing out and wanting to wipe out humanity, but that’s not the sort of person Tsukihito was. He never would’ve blamed others for his circumstances or wanted innocent people killed in his name. He didn’t even blame his own family for hating him when he had every right.

Little time skip at the end? So we’ve got humanity and mecha arms on the path to coexistence, research going on in the mecha arms world and a secret shadow organisation who look strong af? All the makings of a multimedia project imo. A game, gacha, manga something etc just give me more! Also no Aki and Hikaru official ship is breaking my heart 😩 at least the sisters are back together!

I’m gonna miss this a lot. review

Such a waste of potential. What was the point of turning it into full series when it turned out to be just a generic shounen with generic plot and generic characters?

Just earlier this year Metallic Rouge aimed to be some kind of spiritual successor to Kill la Kill, but it's not even close. This one, however, is much closer, thanks to the famed composer Hiroyuki Sawano. What I like the most is that no one died in present days, except those two brothers in the past event.

Cool action for the finale. Loved the flame effects and wings. Peace has returned and time for goodbyes. But he's already back lol and looks like they had an adventure in the mecha ude world. They put so much shit in the ending credit wow. Wish this had more episodes and we got to see those stuff but alas. Also happy to see Aki doing what she does best one last time, stuffing her mouth.

This started off good with some really cool episodes and while it lost steam in the later half with more generic stuff but it was well done and it still turned out to be a cool anime and one of the better ones from this season. I really liked watching this and will miss Aki a lot. Best girl.

From beginning to end, this show wore its inspirations on its sleeves and imbued that heart into every bit of the action. I can see why this show is rated as low as it is, but it’s been right up my alley all the way through. Really hope to see more from this studio in the future.

What is the meaning on the last final scene with the baby? What are they trying to tell when they zoom to the baby cloth, could the cloth is somewhat related to Hikaru shirt in the past episode or something? @@

Anyway I think I still prefer the original Ending theme, its more emotional than the finale one.

@ZzLow96 no idea other than hikaru is always helpful anyway so the baby maybe a sign of him helping the next generation too

Fight scene was cool but ended with an underwhelming note like bruh. Didn't felt satisfied at all the way they ended it. The op theme was banger which I never skipped and it was fun overall, just the ending hits the bad spot. 7/10 for me

Good art and animation, but in general, just generic action anime number 5417.

And the best character of the show didn't even make an appearance on the last episode, Meru. 6/10.

Imagine comparing a well funded project series against a small indie project that took 10 freaking years from zero to just one, how tough the road it is for them to find money and budget out of thin air and still likely need to maintain cost saving measure throughout the whole series in the same time not having a drop off like TOG.

... was it just all a big fever dream Hikaru had ?
At the beginning of the show Hikaru was hesitating whether or not he has to stand up to give his seat to the lady with the child.
And now he just woke up of that wild big nap and did it.
Well I don't know what he was working at during the night but that lack of sleep gave him a James Cameronesque imagination.

You know, I'm glad we were able to give a send off to this series with a classic shonen battle of wits featuring lots of action and constant shouting. Makes me feel nostalgic for times of old. Regardless, that was a set and done ending for Mecha-ude and in the end I was quite satisfied.

For a project being kickstarted and featured from a pilot it has certainly come a long way and in the eyes of the ileterate it could certainly be mistaken for a Studio Trigger series and rightly so. The snapping shots, constant every changing movements and characters expressions do take a lot of inspiration from them and these make the serious moments more serious, the funny moments more funny and the setting livelier. It's a good accomplishment that didn't go unnoticed as the OST didn't as well.

Good choices all around in the sound department both with a hype opening song and a reminiscent ending song. The battle action themes are notable as well although the slice of life ones could have used some better alternatives to be honest. At the very least the cracking and gear up sound effects more than make up for it.

In terms of characters, aside from Hikaru's classmates and some of ARMS members the rest did feel brimming with personality and moments be that smart, doozy or something in between. My favorite one has to be Meru due to how she constantly and inadvertedly set up a love story premise that actually moved the story forward instead of being just a gag. Some of the Mecha udes were also fun to watch from time to time like the pestering samurai and the one who kept who kept embarrassing her owner (can't remember her name, sorry).

Now, regarding the plot itself I feel like this show had its ups and down in terms of pacing as it was mostly correct but left some details rushed such as how Aki was able to give lend her sister a Mecha ude that fast or how was Fist able to disguise Yakumo all that time without anyone noticing. In the end I thought for a second that Hiro was looking at his baby which would have been a huge flash forward but that really was a callback to the beginning since he couldn't lend his seat to other people for some weird reason. You see, things like these are what end up boggling my mind.

Whatever, I'm glad I watched this and was able to get a message from Hikaru's change of fate.

Great finale, although it had such a large cast and moved at the speed of light, that battle was incredible to watch. And I was sad that the arms and humans went there own ways, regardless I suppose it was the best decision for the sake of both the mecah0ude's and humanity. Anyways, phenomenal show with breath taking fights, and hilarious dialogue when it wasn't trying to cram 100 characters into a single episode at the speed of light. It needed room to breathe but regardless it was a very fun show! Would love a second cour.

I hope the images during the end credits are storyboards or rough drafts for a season 2 (it looks rather detailed to be something done for a one-off thing, in my opinion). Feels a little sad otherwise to have Alma permanently separated from Hikaru otherwise. Besides, they still have not found the solution to help the mecha-ude in the other world so I guess that could be part of the focus as well for a season 2. Don't think there has been any announcement yet though...so maybe they are waiting for the reception and sales for this before greenlighting a season 2...

Some details in the plot can be a little confusing and contradictory but overall, still an enjoyable original story.

@ZzLow96 Indie project or well funded, it doesn't matter, they BOTH decided to rush their stories to all hell

They barely had time to even fight the evil megacorp before they were forced to work together.

Today I learnt: People are not allowed to have dream, people are not allowed to make mistake, small indie kickstarter anime project should not be classfied as anime.

Thanks @Boshwa for the valuable lesson :D

The last fight had some cool choreography even though the animation got a bit weird at some points.
I liked that even though Alma and Hikaru said they would save Fist they still beat him up and he kinda just stayed in some type of coma. The end was a bit confusing but understandable I kinda that whoever wrote the story had ideas for a continuation but didn't got the budget.
Overall it was a completeish story with a good animation and ending.

I liked this show overall. It has a lot of likeable elements but just feels kind of synthetic to me for some reason maybe because the pacing or just some of the directing, i dont know what it is. To be clear im not the kind of person who usually complains about pacing. This is one of the few only times. The pacing can mess up emotional impact and sense of satisfactory buildup, instead there was a lot of "oh that happened"

Great show! It had this Saturday-morning-kinda-feeling that I really liked.
Story was ok, characters were well developed (at least some of them) and the action scenes were good.

I do think it didn't use its screen time wisely sometimes. During the last episodes it felt as if the cast had expanded suddenly and there were too many scenes s that to me were a little bit unnecessary to the overall plot.

Anyway, would still recommend it for someone looking for good entertainment.
