| After rain comes heavy fog, that's pretty intense! It's a little scary that they didn't enforce none-overtaking instruction at least, that should be standard. But hey, as a viewer, that's just more hype! Kanata's long monologue, first time this season? Cool to see him starting to unravel a little and get a little greedy. Battling for the fourth place on an outdated Toyota car is quite the achievement already, to be honest. But then accelerating and beating even third to dust? "This driver is crazy" - the ost got it right on the mark, xD. He's using too much energy though, I feel like the showdown between Japan's best and Germany's best will still have to wait for a bit. Saionji-san meanwhile wondering if Kanata will change is a valid concern, he's going to be gathering a lot more fans from here on... And hey that car @17:19, isn't it the MC's car from Initial D? I haven't watched any of that yet but I've seen many key visuals with the same car. @deg Exactly what I was looking for, thanks! |

| Despite the weather conditions, the race continues, and overtaking is still permitted. Good on Fumihiro for promising to take responsibility should anything go wrong. Ikeda recalls when Spiral and Project D battled, giving the rationale behind the decision. damn, Kanata was locked in when the course became foggy, overtaking the more powerful cars in front of him. | this was such a hype episode. Kanata just zooming ahead of the Honda and the Ferrari was crazy af!! The titular Mada Fokin Ghost is here. Its also crazy that we got to see cool amd collective Kanata getting heated up and competitive in this episode and giving out monologues. Him being desperate to get ahead of honda and ferrari, before he learns about the fog in the death area and finally his excitement when he becomes aware of the fog ahead. Kanata was the most animated in this episode. |

| This was the best episode for me no doubt. Tense as hell and when the fog/death zone came up I got anxious. Surprisingly no one has crashed yet in there, speaks to the quality of drivers. Thought the CEO of MFG was nuts for not prohibiting overtaking there, but after Ikeda explained things I kinda agreed to a certain extent. The best drivers will find a way to overcome it. It’s absurd that Kanata was able to memorise the exact track layout AND the time it takes him to drift corners and his break time, just shows how a driver and a car have to become one mind and spirit in these competitions. The car is an extension of your body. Thankfully no over reliance on fanservice today either. |

| Been saying this for years. When it comes to the street, in many cases the key to winning a race isn't how fast you can go, but how fast you're willing to go. |
| Kanata powering through the fog with what he did before, just nuts. Also he now has the winning mentality unlike before when he was just happy racing. That's just how the human mind works. Everyone goes in doing things they like but sooner or later will get competitive. There's an angel horny for him too. Will he be able to maintain third place and get that kiss or will Kaiba overtake him? Guess we'll find out soon. |

| Ah yes, the famous battle in the fog between Keisuke and Ikeda from Initial D: Fifth Stage. Kanata overtaking his opponents surely felt similar. :) Mad respect for all competitors to race in such conditions. Thick fog is something that cannot be taken lightly while driving casually. It truly is a challenge to everyone's driving skills, sometimes luck as well ('cause it's hard to see anything at all). And MFG racers were, despite slowing down a little (everyone except Kanata, that is), driving at high speed in such fog while waiting for any opportunity to overtake their rivals. |
| Man, what an episode, my guy Kanata flew past the NSX and 488 like nothing. Just goes to show you the previous training he put in getting to know the courses before he even competed in MFG really paid off huge in this episode. | I don't think he would be able to beat those 1st and 2nd place in this currently race until he get a car upgrade in the next race. He finally got his competition spirit when he first was only doing it for fun so it could be interesting to see next time. |

| Arguably the best episode of MF Ghost's 2nd season so far. Seeing Kanata showcasing his insane talent with not one, but two clean overtakes against the Honda NSX and the Ferrari 488 GTB was wonderful to see happen. The conditions going from rain to heavy fog in the death zone did make the staff nervous if a no-overtaking rule should be in place or even having the race called off, but the senior management decided that the race should go on. Ikeda also supported this since he too recalled his battle against Project D when he used to lead Spiral in the past and that he had full faith that all of the drivers would be fine. Like with last week, I want to also shower praise to Nozomi once more since she was the only other driver to make a successful overtake in the heavy fog section against the Mercedes AMG GT-R. She's going an excellent job! =) Kanata's position is going to be interesting now that he's onto sector 2. While being 12 seconds faster than the leading duo of Sawatari and Beckenbauer is hugely impressive, he's far more concerned about his distance from the Ferrari, which he thinks isn't enough. I can see this race going for another 2 or 3 episodes, so I highly look forward to seeing who'll stand on the podium at the end of it. |
| that was immediately so much cooler and more fun to watch when the focus is on the op main character. i couldn't care shit for the other 14 racers why in the hell do they keep showing them? it's essentially boring padding until Kanata does something. i also really dislike kanatas whatever race coach guy. |

| i sleep till our boy shows up last week was crazy with how much focus the angels got ,thankfully this week it was mostly the race , Kanata talents are just busted with what is pretty much a stock 86 with small upgrades |

| A thick fog encompasses the horizon, the deathly white plains an even harder section to navigate, whilst everyone slowed down to maintain their position, a lone rookie with his NA 2.0L GT86 charges onwards! The adrenaline is real, to cross the death zone WITH the fog in itself on a relatively quick pace that all the MFG racers does is already impressive enough, but though memorizing the track and using the periodical time callouts, Kanata managed to brave the difficulty and turn what is supposed to be a major disadvantage into an advantage that only he could utilize. The NSX all the way to the Ferrari 488, he's blitzing though them all and came out unscated in a podium position. The Kanata from the last race is no longer the same Kanata. Participation will not bring about as much satisfaction as racing with the top drivers. Even if he must push his skill and concentration to the limit, he will do so for it is the very spirit that made him a racer! I hope he finished 3rd, and shows Sawatari and Beckenbauer that he's no slouch even with a 'mere' NA 2.0L GT86. |

| Continuing the race despite those horrible conditions was certainly a decision by the MFG executive. But it ended up being a massive advantage for Kanata with his reckless (and perfect) driving. |

| Even Shun manages to gain in the race thanks to the rain, though the weather changes towards the fog, which is the classic Ashinoko Skyline challenge of visibility to continue the race as planned, that anything wrong will fall towards the responsibility of the GM. Kanata seeking the challenge of both the Slip Trap and the White Devil, whereas other drivers will call it insane to drive under immense conditions, he's the shining star who can catch up with his skills up the podium. Passing Maezono's NSX to take 4th, and then beating the odds to reach Akaba in 3rd, there's only both Beckenbauer and Sawatori to catch up now. Though that instruction is not passed on to the drivers, in true Project D fashion from Ikeda's commentary and the GM's decision not to denounce overtaking, this is what Ryo Takahashi would've surmised for MFG all the same knowing his bout with Takumi in the past. This puts a lot of mental strain on the drivers, and Kanata is no exception to the perils of the White Devil, and his catch up game is going stronger than ever. The gap closing in on the Top 2, Kanata's about to make history with this leg. |
