I get that take, I’m struggling with whether to drop it NOT because it’s bad, just that I don’t like the characters or themes. Using a romance bait title is bad enough without the tag bs too! I’m sticking with it to see how ridiculously the guy will change to make the girl happy, even tho guys like that irl never change.

I don't think it has a comedy tag. not on crunchyroll nor MAL. it's definitely not a comedy either way haha. I think later on, the romance gets better. idk for sure though since I was told by someone who enjoyed reading it.

it's kind of an ""Dark"" romance kind of thing 🤷‍♀️ , so if you search something more Shojo like it's not the good anime for you xD since it's a Seinen after all

cannot agree more. the entire kindey thing just was so ridiculous!! like, tf she sold her kidney for?? to prove the guy guy isn't going to fall for him? huh??
the guy gives me the creeps though the story has yakuzas in it, the guy is just over the top, and when you realise he's literally 17, it becomes a bit laughable.
this is gonna be one of those senseless bad romance stories where the men are some alpha who was written by a 15 year old and the girl is...well, whatever she is.

I read the manga, it's not gonna be like that, the actual badass is Yoshino and the male lead's (Kirishima's) psychological issues aren't made to be seen as cool but are meant to make him look pitiful and that he needs character development.

It's a crappy, edgy Female audience show masquerading as a deeper, psychological anime. You see it all the time. It have "muh mature themes" but they're presented so ridiculously and pathetically that it just comes across as laughable and weak.

Seinen my butt...

Eh. Nearly every anime has comedy in it without having a tag for it, at least here on MAL.
If you reply back to me and I never respond, I lost interest and don't care. Sorry about that.

@-Hotaru_ I won't say that the anime presents him as cool, but I don't agree at all with pitiful, now psychopath on the other hand...

I agree. Kirishima is intentionally horrible. You don't need to pity him, and you're definitely not supposed to romanticize him.
From my experience, most people read the manga for Yoshino.

Yoshino is hands down my favourite female lead in manga/anime, and I love watching her deal with him. Not fall in love with him.

@samspot8r8s I'm a fan of interesting female leads, and it's been entertaining so far, just not really sure where it's heading. lol

Omg finally someone who gets me, Yoshino is 90% of the reason I read this manga (10% is the yakuza setting). Yoshino is one of my favourite female characters in anime/manga and I have her in my favourites.

I get the Psychological issues and the FL being a badass I'm talking about the absurdity of it and the way things are carried out in the show.
