Nice new development! We learn more about the village's past. And Hikaru seems like he wants to "die" so that Yoshiki can move on. Sad, but he's kind of right.

Asako crying was even sadder...

Yeah the chapter was really great, I don't know if he wants to 'die' but maybe you are right. This is kinda sad but there was one panel which truly shocked me...

Why was Yoshiki's dad so handsome wtf 😭

Terror is so terrifying! lol So much happened, and the horror is really heightening.

Asako caught 'Hikaru', and secretly confronted him, finally learning of Hikaru's death. It was sad, but at least there's one more person to grieve him.

Indou shrine: WTF!!!! That history too! Though Hikaru acted brave, his dialogue clearly showed he was bothered. Now I understand the weight of Yoshiki's last memory of Hikaru from episode 1. Though it looked like Hikaru was only making jokes, he was ashamed and didn't want to tell Yoshiki about the mountain, about his family's sin.

Yoshiki's description of Hikaru shows just how complex Hikaru was as a person. And, there are hints Hikaru may not have been as straight as Yoshiki believes. Every girl that are rumoured to like Hikaru ends up dating another guy, but there is always the possibility Hikaru was responsible for all that behind-the-scenes.

The way this manga tackles grief and moving on is beautiful, and I love how it depicts the horror of knowing you have to move on.

Now, my interpretation of the metaphorical/allegorical plot:
"Hikaru" is like a metaphor for an open queer person, and for him to exist, many people from the past had to sacrifice themselves, even though he never asked for it. Now, he has to bear the weight of that sacrifice. It's like present-day queer people bearing the weight of progress made by Oscar Wilde, E.M. Forster and especially the Stonewall Riots.
