looks like anime sequel hopes is dead too considering completed manga does not bring anymore new profit by default

@deg Eh. I feel there’s still hope. Lots of anime have been adapted from already completed manga like Summertime Render, Hell’s Paradise, Dorohedoro, Delicious in Dungeon, Pluto, the list goes on. Maybe when Studio Orange finishes Beastars and Trigun Stampede, they’ll put their priorities to Land of the Lustrous again. Might take many many years though, but it’s still possible.

@Phlaryx and the hopium continues is it even popular in japan? did the anime adaptation made a manga sales boost?

most of your examples have no anime adaptation prior to the ending of the source material unlike this one

@deg Bro Idgaf if it’s hopium lol. All I’m saying is that these days, a sequel feels more possible now than ever. Like, I lost all hope that Dorohedoro was ever gonna get a second season, right? And then people were saying “oh once the team working the final seasons of attack on titan finishes it, they’ll pick up Dorohedoro again.” I thought they were on that hopium, but turns out they were right. Dorohedoro IS getting another season. They pretty much announced it right after the final episode of attack on titan dropped lol. And maybe once studio orange finishes beastars, like I already said, they’ll go back to land of the lustrous. Not everything has to be about sales numbers or popularity. Sometimes it could also just be a passion project too.

Wait i have a question,please no spoiler,but did the story conclude beacause the author have come to an ending for the manga or it getting axed.I have watch the anime and love it but i haven't read the manga beacause im waiting it to end.Did the story ending feel rushed or fullfill(If you reply to me please dont give me any spoiler ,i love this series very much and i want to be suprise by the twist or anything in the manga ,Thank you).

@B2004x It's not axed for sure and the ending seems satisfying to me. The manga is one of my favorites bu you decide.

@Ionliosite2 yeah money is an important factor but what I’m saying is that money isn’t the ONLY factor. Like I already said some anime can just be passion projects too not just cash grabs. Like, why would most studios take risks in making original anime if it could end up being a flop? Why make experimental anime with weird animation techniques? Why not just only adapt popular manga?

@3inPunisher Bro there was more experimental anime in 1985 alone than in the last 5 years, things are going harder and harder towards greed in every industry with every passing year, anime is no exception.

@3inPunisher yeah I agree! So many anime get sequels these days and even come back for reboots. Like devil is a part timer came back. Classroom of the elite came back. Freaking spice and wolf came back. If those came back why can’t land of the lustrous come back too? Some of the other people in this thread don’t get what I’m trying to say here haha. What I’ve been trying to say this whole time is that anything feels possible now.

@Ionliosite2 while yes greed is a thing, no expection for the anime industry, at the end of the day, the amount of Mangas or Light novels that have been adapted that no one has heard of in the past like I believe 2-3 yrs is telling, undead unlucky, bocchi the rock, Heavenly delusion, undead murder farce, onimai, etc. Being cynical to everything is not always the option lol

@Phlaryx rumors that tokyo ghoul may get a reboot, one piece getting a reboot, 24 episode shows popping in, passion projects etc, A1 pictures being respectable studio nowadays, a whole ass studio dedicating their time too one project (moshoku tensei), more season 2 news, Tell any of this news to an anime fan 2015-2017, they will call you delusional.

@3inPunisher Yes, the amount of manga and novels getting adapted are very telling of how greedy the industry is, thanks for showing me that the number of series made purely out of greed is at an all time high.
