The movie will be directed by JJK 1's director, Seong-Hu Park, at his own E&H production studio? Kana Hanazawa?

It promises to be a great project, with a gorgeous cast for One Piece fans.

@Omarumba MAPPA invited a actual Korean director? Or does he live and work in Japan? I've read in various interviews, including from Shinkai and Tomino, that Chinese and Korean animators have skills no worse than Japanese ones.

@RobertBobert Seong-Hu Park was born in South Korea, where he attended university, but then moved to Japan to continue his studies. He started his anime career in 2004 at Comet Studios, then years later he debuted at MAPPA as the director of Garo, and in 2020 he directed the 1st season of JJK.

"Chinese and Korean animators have skills no worse than Japanese ones" - yes, it's true, for example donghua "The Founder of Diabolism" by Chinese director Ke Xiong boasts a high level of animation and excellent directing. And there is another Korean Jong Heo, who does storyboarding and directs episodes of some anime, "Another", for example.

The level of skills depends on the person, not on his nationality, but as we can see, in the anime mostly people from Japan work, because Japan is an extremely nationalistic country where it is difficult for foreigners to find work.

@Omarumba, yes, you are right, but still Park's works are good, JJK for example.

@Omarumba Well, I don't know anything about Shinkai or Tomino's political views (outside of those shown in Gundam), they mentioned Korean and Chinese animation as an example of how the anime industry needs to develop and show the level, and not just throw more money into projects because that there are more projects and money due to the current peak of the industry.
