Tomozaki is kind of a genius if you think about it. The way his plan came together like the way it did. Some mind games aside, we got some baseball this episode too. This show has sports competition so I'm not surprised that's part of it this season.

Erika is also getting more spotlight this season so she took her words straight to the audience.

Now's the time for Tomozaki to make his move and put his plan into action!

To bring out Konno's motivation, Tomozaki devised a secret plan called the "Three Arrows." With the cooperation of Hinami, Izumi, and Mizusawa, Tomozaki steadily advanced his strategy. On the day of the sports festival, Tomozaki's plan bore fruit as Konno showed enthusiasm and excelled. As a result, the girls' softball team secured a splendid first place, and the class achieved overall victory. Despite Tomozaki being ejected in the first round of the basketball game, he immersed himself in the class's unified sense of fulfillment. However, unbeknownst to him, a small malice was sprouting within Konno.

The genius himself Tomozaki has really come a long way, hasn't he.

I'm liking this OP more now. It's called "Hard? Easy? And then advance!" btw.
No way, it felt like 5 minutes.
The ED is cool, but I like the previous one more too. Would be cool if certain characters would be singing them in some episodes like in season 1.
This was frustrating to watch. Tama is really strong, still being true to herself and not twisting to Erika's words in this situation.
And Hinami is starting to act on her emotions more! I guess this means Tomozaki is winning their game from the end of season 1. (She still gives off a bit of a sociopathic vibe tho)
Good episode.

A page from Aoi's strategy guide: Bullying is okay when it happens to some jobber, but when it happens to a main character, then you can get serious.
This woman is trash, no question. Maybe the people from last season weren't exaggerating when they called her a sociopath in the making.

On Erika, it's oddly refreshing to see a gal-type character portrayed as the stereotypical bully/delinquent like intended, instead of just a flashy love interest for the nerd MC. I am invested in seeing how Tomozaki will teach Hanabi how to game. Why are these hooks so good?

As soon as the softball strategy worked it seems like the resolution backfired as Konno started to harrass Hirobayashi for something that had nothing to do with her. As Tomozaki was about to stand up for her Tomo beat him to the punch and with that mini "violent" reaction she now has her chained in a loop of bullying.

I hate that, not the way the show portrayed it but the situation itself. Using the "but you were violent that one time" is so bullshit yet that it makes me mad but at the same time I know that those things have to be handled better since the other person refuses to cooperate. Let them either not bother you or be caught in their own arguement. That or respond with a different approach, that's what I'd do here.

It’s a different situation hirabayashi was under pressure without making anything so for Hanami there was no interest in helping her if she didn’t make the first move to try to resolve the problem herself, plus that was a little bullying.

While for the bullying of tama it’s a different way, she’s feeling the pressure by Erika and the others classmates even if she try to defend herself she’s wrong. She puts more effort and determination than hirabayashi to get out of this situation. so it’s logic for hanami to help her in this situation

The fact that Fumiya is able to think of such a plan really shows how much he grown. The game screens were a nice touch. Erika though is such a bitch. Tama being the one that stepped in first though was a surprise. Its fortunate that despite Erika's bullying that Aoi and Minimi are there to support Tama. Curious to see where this goes though.

@Zerity
Exactly my thoughts. This class is trash and has no balls whatsoever. They see someone being bullied and just stand there and stare at it. Even main cast in my opinion is dumb, if they see their friend getting bullied why won't they react and just act in the background which won't solve the issue? (talking about Mimimi, and Hinami there). If they stood by Tama's side (strenght in numbers after all), Konno would for sure stop it since she would only worsen her standing with literally everyone in the class and school since she would be against the most popular girls in the class/school. But dumb anime logic like always...

Not feeling this episode. The pacing wasn't great (stuff was just happening like a checklist) and the massive amount of panning shots felt annoying to watch and stood out too much to me like when I watched the last couple seasons of Food Wars. Content wasn't inspiring to watch either, just not much interesting stuff happened here until some potential in the end with Tama relying on Tomozaki's help as she noted how much he has clearly grown over a small period of time to be able to deal with what she is experiencing right now.

Fuck Erika all my homies hate Erika. The most annoying part of the story is here and it’s still aggravating seeing the entire class sit by and watch Erika lash out at everyone. They all just watch it happen like she’s some dictator who’s above all criticism. Cowards.

Hearing people complain about Tama’s reactions rather than the abuse she’s receiving from Erika.. and it’s not like Tama was the first, Erika was bullying someone else before then and they all sat by until Tama stood up.

Still proud of Tama for being the smallest in the class, but the biggest and strongest. Only one willing to stand up to Erika and even after weeks of abuse which they speedran, she is still determined because she knows she’s in the right. That’s conviction.

We start seeing Tomozaki’s growth really on display in this arc. His big verbal disagreement with Aoi’s methods when the other girl was being bullied was the start, but now he’s going to have to help Tama through this situation. One of the best ways you can improve your skills is by teaching someone else.

We’re also seeing the cracks in Aoi as a character. While she initially came off as someone who had all the answers and is so experienced with everything, we see that she’s a massive hypocrite and flawed person

Still can’t believe this was all over someone getting a gf like damn bitch have you considered maybe that’s why he didn’t like you because you’re a POS?

Good episode as usual, a little fast though.. obligatory Aoi thigh shots too lol

seeing this kind of relatable human drama makes me super anxious. And because I'm only a passive watcher, this inability to change the situation stresses me out.

But it's always a compliment if a show can create this feeling within me, even tho it fills me with negative emotions. But that makes the catharsis all the more fulfilling.

@sonkun911 End of S1 I thought her beaf with Tomozaki was undeserved and I started doubting I like her.
Now for sure, she seems quite a bad person, moving for things that only fits her interest.

I don't care if it was a way to show Hinami is not perfect and she doesn't always do the right thing, but showing her saying that they shouldn't help yet and blaming the bullying victim for not standing up just made hate Hinami even more than Konno, and I already hate Konno a lot. Both of them can go eat s**t.

Bro, are there no teachers or pedagogues and stuff like that in Japan??? How tf was Erika doing those things inside the classroom unpunished??? No sense at all. If it was outside of the school, no problem, but you know...

However, I do understand that shy girl who didn't fight back against Erika. I know it seems stupid in the anime (because when we are watching, we don't feel the 'pression' the characters are having), but imagine if they where BOTH BOYS, IRL.

I was somewhat impressed by how they essentially put their class in a vacuum, removing all the teachers and portraying Tama's bullying as a slow death from an unidentifiable disease in the style of a Victorian soap opera. Perhaps this was an intentional metaphor, but it seemed a little surreal.

@PAVELsama Well, it still looks a bit forced. Yes, it is reasonable to appreciate Tama's resistance and help her. But her reaction to the passivity of a shyer and weaker victim looks like strange social Darwinism on the verge of “if he dies, he will die.” Weak people deserve help even more than people who have the will to fight, because lack of help can really be what destroys them finally.

Well the softball thing ended up working out, but Konno continued to bully Hirabayashi regardless, a shame but thankfully Tama ended up stepping up to the plate since no one else would, only this lead to her becoming a victim of the bullying herself, and man let me tell you this Konno girl is the definition of a bitch lol, she was somewhat in Season 1 and she’s even more of one now. And this situation ended up showing Hinami being kinda hypocritical, she wouldn’t help Hirabayashi but she is helping Tama, I know she had her reasons but I’m a bit more in line with Tomozaki’s thinking on this.

And Tomozaki finally ended up taking action himself, which lead to Tama asking for his help, I’m not sure if Tomozaki is gonna teach her smash bros or something like he did with Izumi in the 1st season but I’m looking forward to what he ends up doing. And I’m ngl, while I enjoyed the episode I do wish there was less narration and more of actually seeing things happen, especially in the first half, I get they kinda had to blast through that stuff to get to the Tama stuff but still. That aside tho, we got the ED this episode and DIALOGUE+ killed it again, definitely one of the best songs of the season, the keychain visuals are cute too. Not sure if this one will beat Season 1’s ED for me (it probably won’t) but I do love it for sure.

I think the point was to portray that Erika has been doing this for weeks to both of them now and the class is fed up with it everyday. Sadly, it's a realistic depiction of the JP mindset. Everyone just do nothing and the problem will go away on its own... Aoi didn't care about the side character because she didn't even try to stand up for herself at all. Meanwhile, someone she knows did and now the entire class is ostracizing her (neutral) due to not wanting to be involved in the situation, so it's natural.
Also can get into Aoi being a sociopath when in reality it's more like an extreme form of self preservation. Not really spoilers, but Aoi is only interested in Tomozaki to make him her ideal man... Tomozaki's more positive attributes are slowly rubbing off on her while Aoi's social skills are helping tomozaki fit in better in "society" while also making him more appealing to Aoi.

I said this 😂 but the teacher knowing doesn't really solve the problem. You want a real solution that everyone can be happy with the class. Not just telling the teacher. That doesn't really solve anything. The ideal scenario is that she eventually gets over it and stops bullying people but it seems like it's going to take multiple characters to really bring her down and get things back to normal which the teacher getting involved would change the status of normal

I kinda agree, but hirabayashi was the “quit” person in the class in her nature she wouldn’t want to cause to much attention to herself. You can see in the previous episode she is a quit timmied person. So for Aoi not taking interest in helping her at all kinda shows her shitty side. We do have to remember that the anime is about popularity in the class and framed that there is a “rank structure” in the class so how I see it it’s Aoi being at the top not wanting to help Hirabayashi because she sees her as either weak or doesn’t benefit her

They could at least show how Tomozaki says hello to Fuuka, aren't they having some kind of relationship?
Now I'm very curious what will happen when Konno finds out that Izumi and Nakamura are dating and start bullying Izumi, what will her friends do in that situation. Feeling bad for Tomo having friends like these.

FlydayEthan said:

It could be realistic if it was only Hirabayashi, which has no friends. But after Konno started bullying Tama, which has many friends, and noone of them did anything, the situation became unrealistic.

Yeah, it's similar to situation in 1st episode of 1st season. Hinami would walk away too if Tomozaki didn't start talking about "characters stuff".
