Yikes, this got more eerie with students disappearing. Episode felt tense but at the same time, it looks like Oliver is making his move along the others. I mean, they had to take action...it's now or never. This episode in general just felt very ominous although seeing Vera fight was kinda exciting. She's no pushover for sure. |

A little rescue arc is upon us eh? Driven by the spell, Salvadori has swallowed up Pete, Albright, and Fay. Many other students have also gone missing, prompting Godfrey and the senior students to embark on a rescue mission. However, even after several days, they do not return, and Oliver and the others grow increasingly anxious. Despite their efforts to plead with the teachers, they receive no assistance. Finally, they decide to take matters into their own hands and head out to rescue Pete. But just as they reach their destination, they find themselves encountering Katie and Vera. Vera offers a proposition to aid in Pete's rescue from the clutches of the witch, ensnared deep within the treacherous labyrinth of the school. I'm intrigued to witness Oliver and his comrades face off against Salvadori. They're unlikely to show any mercy, given that she abducted one of their own. Additionally, I suspect Vera might have hidden motives. At present, she lacks a reasons to really assist Oliver's group in this situation. I haven't completely placed my trust in her, but perhaps this this arc could pave the way for greater trust in her down the line. She is pretty strong from the action we got to see her in this episode. Who knows, maybe she'll become a part of the Sword Roses. I just noticed we have 15 episode now, so I'm glad we have more time to explore this world than the previous 13 episodes we originally had. |

Volume 3 is finally here 🙏🏾 this is where nanatsuma is going to go from an interesting magical story to truly peak. My fave volume I’ve read this year, looking forward to JC’s work on it. The sword roses find themselves in a pretty precarious situation. The professors aren’t willing to help with the Pete rescue operation because it’s not been 8 days yet. Kind of like the real world scenario of the police not considering people missing till after a certain time. Again reinforcing just how perilous life at this school can be. So who do you turn to? Well everyone’s favourite lobotomising waifu, Vera lol. Katie needs to be more careful with who she gives her body to 😂 20 percent chance to save Pete eh? As a famous space pirate once said, never tell me the odds. Given the current state of everyone’s abilities, Oliver, Chela and Nanao are definitely the most capable and prepared to take on the dungeon. The animation during the training session with Vera was really good. She may be a bit crazy, but Vera is a very competent fighter as well. Nice to see her emphasise the importance of teamwork in the labyrinth too. When you’re taking on these magical creatures it’s very important to identify their weaknesses and move as a unit. The labyrinth is a dangerous and unforgiving place as even Godfrey and his group are learning, and it requires having people you can trust to watch your back. Again, big part of why I love this series is how everyone plays a big role. It’s not just one OP MC taking on every enemy. Off we go to the second layer next week. Overall, a solid episode. Think the pacing was slow and steady. I expect things to ramp up over the last 3 episodes. We got a little info about Ophelia’s family and their roles as Sucubi which will get expanded upon later. Just thinking about her giving birth to these chimera gives me the chills though. |

Miligan is still sus I thought Pete being a reversi would mean that he is safe but I guess not. 17:44 We haven't seen him yet right? Scene after credits! This episode title: ポッシビリティー(生還率)— Possibility (survival rate) Next episode title: ノイジーフォレスト(賑わいの森)— Noisy forest ("Forest of bustle" or "the bustling forest" as in 21:41) The next episode should be "final" but there will be 2 OVAs aired weekly after that so 15 episodes in total. |

@phantomfandom Oliver can only use his powers through one specific Ritual and surely he cant use it now in front of the others.these powers take great toll on his body and are only to be used on his targets. |

Heading into the final arc, this whole felt pretty good recovery in terms of production and J.C staff nailed the overall ominous tone and mood here. Nanao tends lean on her shounenish protagonist vibe quite in recent episodes easy to be taken aback when she reminds us of her fatalistic views when comes to life & death. The fact she is not going to on this rescue mission with hopes of Pete still being alive as much as it confirm the certainty of his fate is an interesting context. Its also good to see Oliver and Chela nearly as frustrated and desperate as everyone else, but only revealing to each other to keep the others from being reckless and increasing the potential victims. They tap into every connection to no avail. Which leads to fun irony that last hope comes someone who once they most notable enemy. To Miligan's credit, as sketchy as she is, the girl has never lied to them. On the contrary she was one who ultimately shot Katie's offer inexhange far more palatable deal of having her become a research partner. There a lot of direction that can go especially for Katie's own development but its intriguing prospect that hopefully doesn't lead Katie down a darker path due their shared interest. Obviously Miligan likely has ulterior motives but the idea she genuinely like the crew isn't farfetch either. Plus she is actually sticking her neck out here to win their trust and hold up her end of bargain. She sort of Cheshire-esque character you just can't quite read. The brief history lesson about the Savladori family gives a us a better idea what Ophelai's end goal is. Perhaps attempts of trying create the prefect lifeform her family has been pursing is to revive their now extinct ancestors. Also with the Campus Watch/Student Council getting involve directly this time and them having own personal history Ophelia promises far more intense battle is in store for Oliver, Nanao and Chela than Garuda was. Especially when they are gonna having this much trouble even against just Ophelia's chimera. Anycase 4 episodes gonna be bit of tight squeeze for vol 3 but should be doable. |

Looks like the beginning of another good arc, and time for some of the main characters to get stronger through training. Also great to see more of the labyrinth, I guess this serves as a good showcase of that too. Vera is a little on the suspicious side, but she is also good at fighting, I guess we'll see what comes of this. Overall pretty good episode, and I sure am glad they extended the show by a few more episodes to make this arc fit, and I really just can't wait until next week. |

The Kimberly Student Council's rescue for Pete and the rest of the student under Ophelia's control in the labyrinth, it's an emergency, but it's not like Oliver and Co. can do anything about it. This then, turns Oliver to his secret siblings' group to request for help, and they need all the help they can get for a fellow friend. But Michela wanting to go to the labyrinth herself after calculating the chances of life and death, it's a personal affair that Oliver will not allow her to do so. Even more so, Miligans comes with Katie's request to help weigh the chances, though her own request is put on hold thanks to their scuffle in the past. The trade for Katie's help to save Pete, and as much as Katie wants to go, she's not ready for this, so it's up to Michela, Nanao, Oliver and Miligan to do the job. Pete awakens in Ophelia's stranglehold, seeing the process that he's in for the Salvadori clan to manifest mana from to create chimera offsprings. Even worse, Pete is a Reversi, so he's kinda of an outlier, and finding the troll Marco being free from the chimeras under Ophelia's orders, Miligan prepares the trio for the awaited battle and mentors them of her capabilities to face the oncoming enemies. The start of Volume 3 of the LN, and with more episodes to go, hopefully this sticks the landing the anime deserves. |

@Stupidz Yeah whenever I watch Oliver's team go into the labyrinth, which is located below the school, and are put in real danger I wonder how the heck is this ok? But in this world even the teachers (at least some of them) are corrupt so I guess this is a form of survival of the fittest or smartest. Anyways, this episode felt a little slow since it was a setup for a confrontation with Ophelia. At least Vera's fight with Ophelia's minion was kind of cool, especially with how she tricked it. |

Milligan looked so expert compared to the main team, even though Nanao beat her in their first encounter. I can foreshadow that the white-haired Nanao will be a key factor in the final fight vs Ophelia. |

@Alfredo-Sauce Because not that type of school. The main philosophy is that students are for most part expected to clean up their own messes in the labyrinth because the academy wants to foster a strong sense independence and self-reliably. Part of that process is weeding out those who can't cut and become part of best of best magi. Its iron cold meritocracy and you know that when get sign for this place. The mission to rescue Pete has begun! Well not right away at least, a lot of this episode was establishing whom would go month rescue mission. The teachers and upperclassmen not doing too much to help, which isn't different from real life so its not that farfetched. Ophelia taking Pete because she wants male mana is interesting, with Pete being a reversi I wonder how that will change things. Katie trying to be noble and go after Pete herself but she's still too inexperienced, same with Guy. So while they're help is appreciated they'll have to sit back for this one. With the free for all tournament suspended Oliver, Nanao and Chela can join the search along with Milligan whom has offered her help. They'll have to fight numerous of these chimera things that Ophelia has created but Pete must be saved |

I see that the Kimberly teacher there are all suckers, no wonder Oliver cult wanted to get rid of those irresponsible adults. Even Chela father couldn't give a meaningful hands to help smh. But anyway, thanks to that, seniors have their time to shine, and Oliver friendship will once again will face a good hurdle ahead against those succubi. However to accomplish that, without a doubt they still need an outsider help which on these case, welcome to the club, Milligan senpai! Its good to see Oliver getting humbled real quick by her here after the previous shame fight with her. Expect a good cooperation within our girls and Oliver to rescue Pete there, so let's see next! |

This episode was pretty decent. Don't really have any complaints. Our course MC could spook off and use his sword to cheese his way through the layers and free Pete (except maybe there is an issue of actually finding him), but that would be extremely sus. So I do understand how they actually couldn't realistically do anything this time without help. |

@Iron_Maw That's true that they mention this being an elite school for magi. I guess the students (and maybe their parents/guardians) signed some sort of waiver that the school would not be responsible for any harm that may come across them or something (yeah I'm sure I'm overthinking that). |

EP 12 so we finally get to see the other two from the student council in the op kidnapping though, hmm. feels strange so yeah after all that. so rossi finally shows up again but so much for having a duel. i mean we already had a duel between nanao and oliver i mean, surely there must be a decent number of students, soo katie selling herself to miligan is really hilarious though. poor katie its really sad though honestly i was kinda hoping stacey would join but apparently not so we only just reached the second layer, which we saw the seniors in. I guess it was a bit too much to expect to wrap up the whole thing in one go. hmm. Preview seems to imply most of the next ep will take place in the second layer. Though actually now that I think of it, oliver and chela and nanao didnt actually do anything yet this ep. |

Wish the show delves more into Oliver's revenge plot. They pretty much got us all hyped up that one episode for almost nothing |
