| Hello and welcome to the Anime Cover Quiz, a contest in which you will have to put your anime music knowledge to the test and compete with others to be the first to guess which anime song is playing. The kicker is that the song will not be the original, but a fanmade cover! In order to celebrate diversity in anime fandom, the covers are sung in different languages and sometimes music genres –they can also be instrumental!–. It is meant to be a fun challenge that lets you know a different part of the anime community, and a different twist to regular anime music guessing. The event is held on the event stage in Discord. There will be 5 games during the weekend. If enough people are interested, more rounds could be planned on Sunday at different times (depending on host availability). Tickets will be awarded to those who watch live, but if there aren't enough participants to play a game there will be no game, and therefore no tickets will be given, so it's suggested that you join to have a good time playing. RULES Every game will have 3 participants (either individual or in pairs), who will compete against each other to see who is the first to guess each of the 20 songs. Once the song starts playing, a participant will have to sound the buzzer in order to answer. Once the buzzer sounds, the song will be stopped while the participant answers. If the answer isn't fully correct, there will be a rebound to the second person who played the buzzer (if nobody did, the song will resume playing). Samples are between 45 and 80 seconds long, and participants will have that long to press the buzzer, plus a few courtesy seconds. There is no penalty for a wrong answer. Up to 3 points can be given to a correct answer. Guessing the correct anime series but the wrong season will give 2 points, and guessing the right season is worth 1 additional point. Guessing the name of the song is equivalent to guessing the right season of the anime. Additional data: PARTICIPATION REQUIREMENTS In order to have a smooth event, every participant is asked to have:
SCHEDULE The games will be hosted on the dates below. Sign-ups for a game will be opened one hour before its scheduled start, and participants will be randomly chosen 10 minutes before the stream begins. Note: Games 2, 3 and 4 have been rescheduled to a different time on the same day they were supposed to be held. I'm sorry for the inconveniences this may cause, particularly to users in Asia and Oceania. The reason is some personal matter that I learned today, which is why I had to do the changes with so little anticipation (nothing bad happened, so no need to worry on that front). The covers used in each game will be properly credited in the forum chat after each game; and posted here (at some point) after the game in which they appear ends. Disclaimer: Games scheduled for pairs are subject to turning into individual games if the participation is not high enough. People who sign up as a pair to a game in pairs will be given priority. Games in pairs are not necessarily harder than individual games. | @Stuntdrath I'll upload the page to sign up at 16:00 CST (and it will stay up until practically right we start), because there is always the chance that you want to come and for whatever reason you cannot make it. The submissions will be randomized, but if we go from what happened in Anime Jeopardy last year, we had difficulty finding people who signed up to play so if this year is similar it is likely that you end up chosen anyway (there's no way for me to know how many people will want to participate, though). I'm personally expecting you to come up and join us. :P |

Me hahahahaha I couldn't participate last year. Hope I made It on the 22nd this time. Just by signing in once we receive the ticket right? Even if we can't participate because of the randomizer? | @kunal_1301 Most of the Bunkasai event takes place on the MyAnimeList Discord server (https://discord.gg/myanimelist). You have to get the Bunkasai role (in the bot spam channel) in order to see the channels related to the event. |
