This match is in its final parts as the episode took Yoichi to his limits after being awakened.

I like the metaphor of the puzzle pieces being used this episode. It feels like this match was testing to see how can complete their own puzzle for the ultimate win. Looking back at the flashbacks, it looks like everything came down to the final moments of this match.

Like I don't know, that whole build up to Isagi's goal felt like a perfect template to, "You may have outsmarted me, but I outsmarted your outsmarting" meme. And just the last episode they were hyping up Rin as if he's the face of invincibility himself.. whatever.

Though Bachira didn't deserve that easy target treatment. Dude already had his hands full with the thoughts of his monster mate Isagi leaving him behind. But he got his moment, and fucking owned everyone. That was hype, with the fluidly animated dribbling… until of course Isagi stopped the rampage.

Props to Bachira’s VA, and the studio giving justice to the most hype moment. Now the match will conclude next week, and what coming sure is something.

I still hate the dialogue but ignoring that, this has been the best match so far. Good to see some actual tactics like switch play.

Isagi finally got past Rin. Let's go, striker!

That was some really epic development for Bachira at the end there too.

i was waited this ep so much bcs some people said Isagi will "humiliate" Rin in this ep but it looks like people are so idiots these days
if a kick with the heel is what you call humiliate then Nagi first dribbling(with team Z) would be career ending

imo i think they'll choose bachira tho

"I just knew it man, I just knew Bachira would try to solo our whole team on that final play."

But man, it was cool to see Bachira awaken his true potential and ditch the "monster" that's been holding him back for so long. Dude was really going through it in this match, just trying to keep up. You can't disregard Isagi, though, with his ability to foresee the future of the field. Looks like it's time for one last counter from Team White. This has been an exciting match and I'm looking forward to finally seeing its conclusion.
People on MAL refuse to actually enjoy watching anime.

Your taste in anime isn't a personality trait.

to be honest it wouldn t surprise me if it was on this ep..being from the worst one to someone who can compete with Rin just in a few weeks is already too much

Isagi, in desperation mode to devour Rin to defeat him, he really needs this to ensure that they're still in the game. And whatever strategy is used on the pitch, Rin is watching his every move to ensure that all passes head to the goal without any issues, even so much as to fool him with his blind spot, with the decidual back-heel shot to catch up with them at match point: his exclusive devouring technique against Rin Itoshi. The last play with expectations running high, Bachira having second thoughts of playing with Rin and Isagi, the monster within him is slowly fading away.

Time for the last kick-off, and everything has to go like clockwork. But it's obvious that if they won, Rin is the obvious choice to get chosen, and while the way to do that is with Isagi and Barou's 1-2 play, Bachira would be left behind of his passion for soccer and his friends. All he needs to deal with is his true inner voice, and though Isagi almost scored a victory, Rin came in for the clutch to block the ball, and the ball is passed back to Bachira, spawning both his counter and the monster within him, shifted from himself to Isagi, gravely affecting his performance if he doesn't focus intensively. Becoming the unreadable joker on the field with nutmegs, Bachira is now the person to devour, with Rin following up that would prove the difference between winning and losing.

What a showdown for Bachira, the final ace in the hole, and will Isagi stop the ego running through his veins? The ego excitement never stops.

Just when I thought Bachira was going to score the game winning goal, Isagi was there to intercept it. Glad that Bachira decided to wake up and tap into his instincts on the field and that he really doesn't need that monster he was using it as a crutch. He almost soled the entire team. Damn that cliffhanger thought.

That additional time segment was very "Glam"

This episode was top 3, if not arguably the best episode this season so far. Insane. The OSTs went CRAZY, the visuals went CRAZY, and best of all, Bachira went CRAZY. It was so good in fact, with the use of backstory, visuals, OST, and hype, that it reminded me of Karasuno vs Shiratorizawa. The purposeful use of Bachira's backstory and motives leading to an altered future based on his internal discussion; only to have Isagi predict all of it. Couldn't have asked for more.

Bye-bye, Monster.

Another day, another W for Isagi. First off, his goal was simply world-class. If we had commentators they would be creaming and waxing lyrical about that back heel. Isagi or Mane. I can't tell the difference right now. He could've scored a second as well, if not for Rin.

Bachira is such an interesting character to me. He creates a monster to curb his loneliness and in this game, he decides that he doesn't need anyone to facilitate his play. That decision was easily predicted by Isagi and we'll be greeted with another high-speed counter in episode 23. Isagi or Rin MOTM regardless of what happens, they've been immense and relentless.

Bachira had so many opportunities to pass but he didn't. That could prove detrimental. No one can complain about the animation in this episode, 8bit did a great job with this episode.

Holy shit, what an intense, brilliantly executed episode! I loved every second of it from Isagi's perfectly executed uno reverse to Bachira's character development with letting go of the monster (aka his subconscious need to play in a way that won't leave him without connections and gets him praise as an useful team player rather than an individual, I'm sick of people calling the monster an asspull or some equally illiterate shit while not getting its symbolic value) and the cliffhanger with Isagi having seen it coming likely because he's had a similar revelation of needing to play for his own sake to play at his best. One of my favorite episodes!!! For me, this anime has completely redefined what it means to get invested and hyped.

i was looking forward to this chapter getting animated and i'm not disappointed. sure, it's not on the same level as the manga but for what it is, i'm satisfied.
bachira's VA killed it, so did his mom's VA - kaida yuuko with the narration once again.
that curve of that cross from chigiri was so beautiful, i had to rewind it. isagi with the crazy back heel against rin but rin clutched up the second time.
that spin was kinda odd lmao but bachira's saying 'pieces of shit' did it for me.
oh, also the OSTs delivered yet again. that screaming like sound effect when rin caught up isagi was so well done.

Insanely good as always bruh. I can't believe there's only 2 eps left of this season :(

Isagi's back heel goal was crazy. He's actually caught up to Rin.

I thought the Bachira flashback went on for a bit long (the last 12 mins of the ep pretty much) but there were some awesome moments!! Isagi coming in clutch at the end, super keen for next ep :D The finale!!

This episode was exhilarating and thrilling. Seeing Isagi utilize his own abilities against Rin after understanding Rin's goal and showing his growth as a striker by scoring a goal and tying the game at 4-4 He also demonstrated his leadership and teamwork by encouraging his teammates and creating chances for them. Likewise, Bachira, who made the decision to play with his true self instead of his monster persona after recognizing that he was relying excessively on his monster, Both teams were eager to score the decisive goal as the episode came to a suspenseful conclusion. I know who will win the match next episode, but I am still excited to see it.
