So it seems like the crunchyroll version of the anime is censored.

1. There was a short scene of Mahiru exiting the bathroom after shower that was completely cut when compared with the one aired in Japan.

2. More fog appears in Crunchyroll's version while Mahiru is showering.

3. there was some background moaning voice coming from the VN Mahiru was playing just before the OP plays, it's gone in Crunchyroll's version.

In total the Crunchyroll version is also 10 seconds shorter in runtime compared to the japanese verison.

Piracy is certainly going to flourish for this series if they censor more in the western version lmao.

I mean...it was to be expected. Overall free sites will always offer a better experience for these type of anime. Although it's not like they censored all that much tbh, could've been worse.

Ugh, looks like it's back to sailing the seas to watch a show I'm already paying for on Crunchyroll (though, at this point, I'm probably not renewing my subscription.) However, the downside for going to those sites other than the security concerns is that the subs are mostly fansubs and fansubs are even more inaccurate with their translations. Plus, when I watch dubs, sometimes Japanese text doesn't get translated in the dub uploads.

Isn't the Japanese TV version the same? Pretty sure the Asian version (licensed by Medialink) is the same too.

Yeah, like dubbed anime. I'm fine with slight censorship, but I can't stand them promoting their dubs to me.

CR seriously treats their customers as if they're all underage or idiots. I mean I pay for it too, for the convenience of it. Playing it off of my TV without needing to use my Chromecast but I've been using it less and less these days.

Just sad that they think everyone should be subjected to experience hampering censorship.

It's a good thing Crunchyroll went crazy & made all of it's anime premium, I can just go watch this anime elsewhere & I'd want to as I'd rather see the episodes how they are & not censored.

I don't get why they took out particularly these scenes.
I mean, if they deemed them "too suggestive".. the scene before the mirror in the bath, or even the "skit" with her sitting before the fan half naked might be worse :D

That being said, the cut content in this ep was close to nothing, not that it would riun the fun. Can't be sure if it stays this way tho...

You mean Crunchyroll is just streaming the same tv version that airs on channels like Tokyo MX?

God, anime fans are so dumb sometimes, THEY STILL DON'T UNDERSTAND HOW ANIME CENSORSHIP WORKS.

4kids actually altered their shows, while Crunchyroll is only allowed to stream what they get from Japan.

Classic case of censored version to fit that PG-13 rating. Nothing unusual. Uncensored version can be easily found with Google search.

Really funny to me as if these censors affect how acceptable the show is for any audience. The only way to censor this show is just to not air it (I like it for the record)

I never understood how people didn't understand that. like yes, cr could be nice and get the uncensored version that air on like atx or update the shows later on like funi did and hidive does. it's not like cr doesn't have ecchi peak like yosuga no sora completely uncensored. anime fans are legit brain rot victims considering how easy it is to understand how cr works and how their simulcasts have worked since day 1

Sure and I will continue to make fans aware of crunchyroll abysmal simulcast strategy when it comes to ecchi shows.

Censorship will never prevail, and people are going to continue to pirate the stuff which simulcast companies like crunchyroll put out censored.

It's not really a CR's fault here. Every single western streaming service operator got the censored version. While only Japan got "uncensored" one.
AT-X: Uncensored
ABEMA: Uncensored
BS11: Uncensored
I mean, there's nothing to censor here in the first place, because there's no nudity at all, so it's just stupid.
At least CR did pretty well with their translation.

I mean idc cause I always sail the seas for these types of shows, I pay for cr for convenience not uncensored since I know damn well the time cr gets the uncensored simulcast is when the simulation crumbles. atleast now cr has the funimation shows uncensored

What is wrong with supporting the industry?

And me buying merch from Japan may sometimes mean that my money will go back to Crunchyroll anyways
Cause Crunchyroll will see any of the profits a show they co-produced makes.

So for instance I bought an official Shield Hero figure from GoodSmile Company.
The box was all in Japanese, but in the bottom I saw that the figure was official licensed merch from the production committee.
A committee that Crunchyroll is a part of.

So be careful whenever you import official merch from Japan, cause part of your money could be going back to Crunchyroll either way...

Makes sense tbh. Some of this stuff could potentially cause legal issues since I'm pretty sure underage nudity is not really tolerated by US Broadcast Standards and Practices. The moaning is like whatever that is not even that important probably

Yelp, it's quite noticeable with the censorship with few select scenes on static costing valuable seconds on screentime. Sound wise, yep the moaning was cut off too.

Except this series isn't being aired in American TV, so they follow no such law.

Crunchyroll literally has Eromanga Sensei on their service.
Plus they have near hentai shows like Harem in the Labyrinth and Shinmai Maou, all of which feature underage characters.

There's nothing legal stopping them

This is a myth. They're streaming Dance in the Vampire Bund which has a vampire with the body of a nine-year-old in the buff. Loli content is legal in the US, especially if it doesn't even contain graphic sexual content.

It is not about that Crunchyroll doesn't want to show uncensored version it is that they can't get it. Some reason or another Japanese publishers doesn't want to give uncensored to these streaming sites. I think they are afraid of some SWJ reactions or something from west.

They're probably wary of western streaming services pulling another Ishuzoku Reviewers. I really can't fault japanese companies for doing this, considering the shit they've had to deal with over the last couple of years. Western sensibilities cause japanese censorship. At least in this case we have an uncensored version we can fall back to. Same thing can't be said about a huge number of other products.

Ah yes because hating on them over something that they DIDN'T DO shows the mentality of these people.
Truly very smart people

Why aren't people also hating on Bahamut then?
Cause their service also got the censored version like all the other services outside of Japan did....
