Man, I l just love that Gundam design used by Elan. Seriously though, it's a makeover of badass all over it.

I hope Suletta knows her own limits though. I mean, duel battles are fine but sometimes, she should try to maybe do some research first before fighting. Seems she's improving herself everyday though.

It seems Elan series are kind of similar to Ayanami series. It's too early but a cartridge has been unloaded already.

21 years time skip from the prologue. This made the theory of Suletta ≠ Eri more and more plausible.
Guel camping in the forest. lmao... He went from the top student to homeless in just six episodes.
Elan is kind of a clone or something similar, and there will be more of him in the future for sure. RIP Elan.....

Love the parallels of episode zero of the prologue with the happy birthday song from Suletta. Now that we know 21 years have passed, Suletta can’t be the same girl from the prologue and must be a clone as well. Elan’s comments last week about them being just alike really makes sense now.

I think her mom was referring to arial when she talked about having faith in her daughter to win as well. I think she just views Suletta as a means to an end. Her humanity died that day.

Feel bad for Elan, he really felt the difference in Suletta’s bond with Arial and his lack of a bond with his gundam. Then when he does finally make a friend, he’s replaced… hope he can break free of that cycle someday.

They did my boy Guel so dirty. Had bro in the forest in a tent. but notice he still had Wi-Fi to check up on his boo’s duel lmao

Fight was awesome as we’ve come to expect, definitely well worth staying up for.

It seems that Lasy Prospera is much more cunning than what was initially hinted at, using Suletta’s crush on Elan to her advantage to figure out who else was a survivor of the Ochs Earth massacre. She has no issue with using Suletta as a tool for revenge it seems. Meanwhile, Suletta is feeling upset about Elan’s harsh words to her, while Miorine is feeling betrayed by Suletta for recklessly accepting a duel, jeopardizing both of their futures. Elan is still driven to take Aerial away from Suletta if he wins, while timid Suletta has no idea what to ask of Elan if she wins. Aerial receives some much needed enhancements in preparation for her upcoming battle.

In a shocking twist, it seems Elan is actually a copy of another Elan who is the original. His personality is much more snobbish and arrogant than Elan, who seems dejected and indifferent to everything around him. It brings even much more context as to why he reacted to Suletta the way he did in the previous episode, with how terrible his life has been up until this point, only meant to be used as a pawn for other people’s objectives and ultimately to be discarded when no longer useful.

Suletta opens up to Nika about her feelings on the duel and Elan. Even though she knows Elan was only manipulating her to start a duel, she still feels hurt. But Miorine gives her tough love, and reminds her of her mantra: if you move forward, you get two. Before the duel, she tries to reconcile with Elan (in an adorable way) by singing happy birthday, but he dismisses her once again.

Suletta finally decided on her stake for the duel: if she wins, Elan will open up about who he is. With that settled, the fight begins. Elan starts to rage at Suletta, but Suletta withstands his barrage. When Elan finally has her pinched, Aerial uses a powerful technology that disables Elan’s Pharact. With Elan realizing defeat, he begins to remember that he too was once loved, and was able to share happy celebrations like a birthday with someone that cared about him. All the while, he was feeling empty. But Suletta helps me understand that there are those around him that will care about him.

After the conclusion of the duel, Peil Technologies discards the Elan that was defeated by Suletta, as he is unfit for following their orders, and replaces him; Suletta stares up at the sky wondering where Elan could be, and with that, the episode ends.

This episode had me emotionally wrecked by the end. I feel this episode really presented the dark, dystopian aspect of Gundam that was not apparent up until this point. The last time we saw the true nature of war in space was the prologue. Elan was only a disposable puppet with no right to ambition or desire. He was a tool that was meant to be cracked and abused if it meant that Peil’s objectives were met. Ever since Suletta arrived at the school, she’s been disrupting the sense of normalcy those around her had: Miorine learns to open up to someone, Guel realizes how he is a product of abuse, ChuChu becomes slightly more understanding of those she hates, and Elan begins to understand that you can only make up for the suffering of the past with the present that is right in front of his eyes.

With this episode done, it will be a while until we get episode 7. Still, I cannot wait for the recap next week. I have been thoroughly enjoying my this series so much, and am grateful to everyone who is working their hardest to make it the best it can be.

Shit was eerie af everytime they sang the “Happy Birthday” song.
That ending was friggin dark ngl. RIP Elan.

Did Aerial just go into NT-D?
Elan is most likely a Ple reference.
UC Gundam fans will understand what I am talking about~

There is something I have been wondering for some time now.
There are more duels than classes~
In a duel, what will happen if a beam hits the cockpit by accident?
In Mobile Fighter: G Gundam, the person who hits the cockpit loses by default.

EDIT: Does the school suspects that Elan is using a Gundam?
Looks like we have 3 tsunderes in this series. Chuchu, Guel, Mio-Mio.

Okay, here's a theory.

They say the pilot the Aerial should be 21 but Sulleta is 17. Maybe the Eri of the prologue was sacrificed to be a soul within the Gundam so it wouldn't need Sulleta to sacrifice herself to pilot it. In the light novel the Aerial describes Sulleta as a “little sister.” And the little girl in the prologue is called Eiri - Aerial.

Probably not the case but this my thoughts right now.

If that's the case then I'll brag about this prediction.

Singing "Happy Birthday" always is the best way to throw someone off.

This duel had the worst prize to Sulleta for now. Get to know number 4, and the prospect of getting funds for the Earth house wasn't possible.
They won the bet, at least.

Well at least the episode didn't ended with Suletta meeting the real Ellan or another double.

Bel's line dates the prologue to 21 years ago so Suletta (currently 17) can't be Ericht (4 at the time). Prospera proceeds to say she trusts her darling daughter (singular) yet when she was in a private conversation with Suletta, she says daughters (plural). So Prospera trusts Aerial, not Suletta. Furthermore, when the Pharact gets hit by the Aerial's EMP attack, it looks like Enhanced Person Number 4 can see Ericht's silhouette. (We are going the Eva route!)

Enhanced Person Number 4 was surgically altered to have the same face as the real Elan in order to win duels at Asticassia (with a Gundam if necessary). Similar to how the Murasame Laboratory held Four's memories hostage, Enhanced Person Number 4 has the prospect of being given a identity if he succeeds.

Our first duel outside the Front; Pharact goes all out and uses GUND-BITs. A data storm ensues proving there is at least one Gundam out there (will this be swept under the rug?).

Having lost the duel, Peil dispose of Enhanced Person Number 4 in secret. I hope next episode the real Elan or Enhanced Person Number 5 shows up at Asticassia and ghosts Suletta.

He could still be alive, we wouldn't know if anyone save him or not last minute. Lady Prospera seems to have her connections in many places. When she ask her friend what pilot number for Pharact, i think she's planning something behind the scene.

Given the similarity to the original system I did expect that Elan's backers were connected to what we saw at mercury but to think that i was right. After that embarrassing loss it seems even his father has had enough of Guel. Got to admire Nika's spirit though. Even when faced with tough situations she adapts. But the stakes this time sure were high. Hmm so Elan is actually a clone of the true heir then created to test their mechs while learning new knowledge. Kudos to Suletta for trying to get through to Elan her way though. The dual between Suletta and Elan though was really something. Suletta's trust in Arial really comes into play here. The gund bits that Suletta has really is flexible in its role though. Though Suletta managed to win thanks to the memory wave that really was close. But damm poor Elan to be discarded like trash by the company as a result of his loss. Overall a solid ep that while focusing the lions share of the dev on Elan also did well to show just how dark companies can be in this age. Suletta will be devastated when she hears what happened next ep.

This show is a pretty solid Gundam. Entertaining and with great art and animation. That said, the happy birthday singing scene made me cringe a bit and felt silly. I'm starting to grow a bit bored of Suletta's childish/naive Gundam savant self. I know she's a "newtype" hillbilly, but I really hope they start developing her character a bit more from now and that they give a bit more variety to proceedings. Heck, have her lose a fight for once.

First i want to say suletta mercury has to be the most big and thick plot armor MC in this year, Like how crazy the ability u need so the enemies can't even dodge the attack? I mean You can have ability that can turn off other enemies robot but at least make it so it can be avoided like elan. It's not like i want elan win the duel but the way she win it just like you using a cheats codes. all the fight with suletta in this anime is unfair/one sided and she never use her Battle IQ to win the duel she always relies on the strength of the Gundam alone, this is will continue till the end. At this point Just named it Gundam: the "most powerful" witch from Mercury, And that would make more sense

Sorry if I had a bad grammar

I think the people are overthinking it with the 21 years thing. Maybe she was referencing a different event. It was confirmed in a summary beforehand that season 1 takes place in AS 122 and the prologue took place in AS 109 and I doubt they would mislead people in a summary.

With those years the age of Suletta matches up.

Episode reinforced once again that Suletta is the real deal. Controlling GUND bits requires skill and precision, they’re not just automatic, and she’s a cut above even Elan 4. Love how every episode keeps putting the naysayers down who cry “MC plot,” the other pilots just suffer from skill issue, major skill difference.

That being said this episode does strongly imply that current Suletta is not the same person as the child who was blowing up adult Gundams like candles lol. I hope this is all just a red herring still. It would feel really crummy if the little girl who cheered on for in the prologue wasn’t the same girl who we cheering on right now.

Maybe Eri was put in some sort of cryostasis or testing in order to make her fully compatible with Aerial, or maybe they ran some experiments on her to give Aerial a piece of her own childhood consciousness and wiped out current Suletta’s old memories.

Also Elan 4 died too soon. Damn. Idc if this is supposed to be “Gundam” but not seeing his redemption side hurts since we’re only halfway through the first cour. Huffing copium that he’s still alive somehow but just trapped and greatly weakened.

Suletta is not taking the strain but perhaps someone gave their lives to run the equipment without showing any signs it is a Gundam.

Great points. I'll go a step further. They show Eri watching everything going on through a screen in the opening. Instead of it just being a representation of Suletta's innocence, it would instead be the show pointing out Eri exists in the Gundam Aerial. I wonder what other clues the show has that things aren't what they seem?

I thought for sure Elan would die in the battle, pushing his Parmet score up. But the fact is, that woman said he would die the next time he entered a Gundam, so death was the only thing waiting for him, one way or another. So his death isn't as horrible as the story makes it seem.

For Suletta, Happy Birthday really is a cursed song. Even if Suletta isn't Eri, Happy Birthday often proceeds something awful. This show is settling into being more of a Gundam show. Which means the fans of this show that still watch will be around for great storytelling instead of virtue signaling. And if the girls end up together at the end of the show, that's all the better for everyone. More new blood in the Gundam franchise is a win for everyone.

A special shout out to Gundam Aerial, giving us a few moments to appreciate how badly Pharact was gonna get lit up. Aerial even hijacked the Elan's Gund-bits and used them against him. It was a chef's kiss moment.

Eri = dead
Suletta = Eri's clone
Aerial = Advanced version of Lfrith with AI of Eri's personality/soulfuckery
Aerial's 12 bits = Eri's previous dead clones before Suletta
Suletta = clone who was released as an adult aka has mental age of a child, Tales of the Abyss style, which explains his childish behavior and ignorance
Lfrith Ur and Lfrith Thorn from Gunpla promo = Gundams with also Eri's AI or/and Eri's clone pilots

that's it. I solved everything.
