| To be Honest yeah I agree to this anime is Cringe BUT maybe that's the point of this anime. Like you know the movies Jackass, in that movie people doing stupid and cringe things for laughts and entertainment. and I think Rent a Girlfriend is the same and in that point its really Entertaining! 8/10 for me. Bonus: The artstyle and animation is also above average and so I think 6.5/10 is unjustified. Objectively speaking its 7/10 anime, |

| Well in my opinion the first season was just fine. The MC was a total zero, a hopeless character with any positive sides and only irritated me when I watched him. Anyway, also Chizuru was not enjoyable as a cocksure girl. What the most annoyed me in this show? Fact that dating prostitutes were described as "normal" behavior, as just a part-job. Disgusting to me is the form of loaning a girl out in terms of mental love. Ruka saved this anime in the first season, but I would have given the max 6/10 anyway. Season two continues previous style and still the MC is acting like a moron. But I think there have been changes since fourth episode. We stop focusing on the disgusting "rent a girlfriend" model and the whole story is going more to a romantic-comedy way. So there's an improvement from episode 4, and I can definitely admit I spend a pretty good time with episodes 6-12. That's why this anime that I have criticized many times before, unlike to others, I believe that season two is better and deserves let's say even the 7/10. |

| Sure, animes intentionally trying to be cringe or parodies can be really entertaining, like Urusei Yatsura or Shadow in Eminence, but Kanokari tries to blend drama and poor development on top of its over the top cringe making it feel disgusting to watch for certain viewers. It really stinks how such a Mizuhara could be an extremely well written character but this story sully's her potential. She's a unique character who doesn't exactly fall into usual tropes, but this story ruined her chances of becoming a great female lead. |

| Sure, SOME part of this series are definitely cringey, but other parts are quite good! And some people went WAY overboard with calling it cringey. To the point to where One person even said that in that scene where Mami was going into Kazuya’s apartment,, when Ruka was staying over unbeknownst to her, one person described her going over to be creepy! I am not making this up! Even if that person did say it was “without his permission“, how ridiculous can you get? This is romance that were talking about, and as much as I don’t like her, I can definitely understand why she wanted to go over! And she’s certainly not a creep for doing so! So for those called cringing, I hope that’s not one of the reasons! In fact, so won’t even called me creepy, because I didn’t entirely bash Kazuya and even defending him somewhat, because someone described his libido or whatever, they described THAT to be creepy as well! Or at least some aspect of him, which sure is bad, but is definitely not creepy! Sure, there’s definitely some legitimate reasons not to like this series, however describing things like that to be creepy, is ridiculous, and it really takes away from the legitimate reasons to not like this series, as well as some of the good things that this series does have! |
