| Seriously this episode was too good, finally we get to see Serena again and that contest part with Koharu was great, though it's sad that she couldn't interact much with Ash except at the very end but it's better than nothing. Also that was fun to see Ash battling against Wallace xD |

| After nearly 6 years, Serena is finally back again. This episode was a treat for those who were waiting for this long. Serena looks so PERFECT. I missed her so much. Ash and Serena's reunion may have been short but I loved every second of it. They both told each other their goals and will always be cheering for the other from a far as they have been. "If you’re aiming to be the strongest, then I’m aiming to be the greatest performer.” that line, love it. 10/10 episode. Hopefully we get to see her again soon. Man it's been a long time since I watched a pokemon episode. Also cool callback to May and Dawn. Would love to see all 3 of them in a contest. |
| I have mixed feelings about this episode but I'll be honest. I kept asking myself how could Serena appear in this episode with practically no marketing, but watching the episode I understood why. After I saw the leaks I already expected that the long-awaited reunion would last about 2 minutes (and it lasted less), but the director could at least add more sparkle in Serena's eyes when she heard Ash's voice or while she wordlessly watched him talking to Koharu. There was barely a silent shot of the camera in their faces or something (there was one dedicated to ship's horn), to give the viewer 5 seconds to actually FEEL the scene. At most a little XY song that I think played in the background. The blue bow wasn't even there (people are saying it's on her leg, but I didn't notice). But the issue is not even about romance, but that even for a good friend, the reunion was done in an extremely rushed way. They meet naturally and are quickly (and conveniently) interrupted by transport announcing their departure so the writers can avoid any kind of compromise. It was like Ash bumped into a character of the day he hadn't seen for a month. It's things like that that I find this season disappointing. It takes everything fans have been asking for for years and delivers it just spitting in your face, as if they're doing it begrudgingly. Good thing I'm not fanatical about this couple or I'd be right now pretending to be emotional while I'm dying inside. Well, the good part is that the episode wasn't about that, and they didn't promise anything related to Ash and Serena (hence the silence, so fans don't get TOO hyped?). They also did well to show Serena's development and how her experience helped Chloe in her first performance. I also liked the many references the episode made, Wallace's gag delaying them and his narcissistic personality, but it was everything so rushed that I didn't even have time to process it well. About the battle btw... I'll just pretend it didn't happen. A win against a (former)Champion happening off-screen and so casually was uncomfortable to say the least. Also, funny to see a non-official battle against a champion being 3v3 while the World Championships battles that are actually official are mostly 2v2 and 1v1. =| Seriously, they do it on purpose. Decent episode, but they tried to squeeze so much into such a short time that it was ridiculous, harming the direction of all the plot lines and wasting unique opportunities IMO. May flashback was very nice. |
| This episode reminded me of how freaking ridiculous the writers are for introducing Showcases in Kalos instead of bringing Contests back at that time. Whatever. Serena looked fab and I just wish that she and Ash had talked a bit more. Seeing her with boring Chloe wasn't enough. |
| Damn it...DAMN IT!!! The reunion was Short but sweet. But i needed more!!! I actually didn't think it was going to happen...thank god it did. I still think Eevee will eventually evolve into a new Eevee Evolution to promote Scarlet and Violet. Man next week will be a skip. Haven't been a fan of the team rocket episodes so far. |

| Pretty good episode. Will be interesting to see how things will go with Chloe and her Eevee moving forward since they have interacted with all current Eevee-evolutions and the rumours of possibly her Eevee evolving into a brand new variant that will be coming with gen 9. Also nice to see another returning former travelling companion with an updated roster, with Serena's Braixen now having evolved into a Delphox (similar to how we saw Iris earlier with her charming Axew becoming a powerful Haxorus). |

| That was such a short but sweet moment. The writers are way too cruel to Amourshippers. At least, we got to know just how much Serena has grown since her departure and Chloe has now seen all Eeveelutions so hopefully we move on to Gigantamax Eevee now. Also, Wallace and Ash's battle was pretty funny(and random). Though I'm surprised they showed Milotic losing. |

| I take this as the only way May could appear again, Serena was cute but it was obvious the writer was going for "She can't see or interact with Ash for more than a few seconds, make it quick" lol Wallace was funny but the fact the battle was part of the joke is a bit dissapointing. Koharu did okay. |

People really be like : " I waited for so long nearly over two full pokemon shows only for ash and serena to meet up for only two seconds " People also be like : lets hook up these two kids and have discussions and theories and fan arts. Also people : "they should have kissed " , " man!! they must unite them Kalos was the best And i was hoping a little kiss at the end " ; says a person with a Goku pfp~ Cringe! cringe Cringe CrINGGGEEEEsagsvzj People also skipped the whole series and prob Sun&Moon and just started this episode and for greninja (i estimate he will only be like in 2 episode ) __ anywho i like the direction they did with this episode. It didnt feel forced like the one with Dawns meet up. Ash not knowing who Wallace was , Was funny. Also the boat separating Serena and Ash to make the viewers mad , nice touche! Ash didnt come to Hoenn to meet with serena. They already did that. Tbh i thought serena would have gotten jealous cuz ash was traveling with a new girl lol. She didn't though. welp time to read some more comments. i dont like the serena fan base. |

| Surprising episode with Serena's return! But the writers clearly didn't want to follow what happened with her last time she appeared. And the convenient excuses were Wallace pulling a Max 'loveblocking' indirectly and a hurried departure lol The writers didn't want to commit themselves or they simply hate Serena and her fanbase, there is no gray area here xD Anyways, Chloe found a new goal so I guess we'll see Serena again in the future, as well as May (hopefully) if Chloe wants to follow that path. Btw, I know it's no surprise at this point but Ash defeated Wallace's Milotic! That's like one step away of becoming the Champion of Hoenn lol Even though the whole battle was just part of the joke of being a distraction for Chloe's debut, it just shows how strong Ash is now :P |

| lol i swear Koharu always find someone related to Satoshi in her adventures this time i't Serena and they both have fun doing contests :D Satoshi tho... at least he got a gym badge lmfao i was kinda mad Serna wouldn't see Satoshi but at least they did hope to see her again later oh next episode is a skip, nice one less episode to catch up lmao |

| Serena finally makes her return! Super happy to see her again since she was one of my favorites in the entire series. Wish the reunion lasted longer than 30 seconds, but then they'd have to acknowledge the parting kiss and apparently we can't have that! Oh well. Seeing Koharu in a contest was cute, figured that was gonna happen sooner or later. Kinda disappointed her Eevee didn't use all the evolution moves in one big spectacle, but it makes sense since this was a Sylveon episode. |
| Serena is finally back!!! And May, Dawn and Steven were all referenced too. Chloe has now met all of the Eevee evolutions which is great. Still wondering if her Eevee will actually make a decision before the series ends. Cool seeing a Pokemon contest happen again after so long with Chloe combining everything she has learnt from all of the Eevee forms to make a great show and Serena showcasing her obviously amazing skills. Two mega Altarias in two episodes was kind of an interesting choice, though they were used in very different scenarios. Ash and Serena's brief meeting at the end was also amazing to see, even if their time together was cut extremely short. |

| They really felt the need to pad out the episode with flashbacks to the other Eeveelutions (one of which was basically the same scene twice) only to have Eevee use the one new move it learned from Sylveon, huh? I really thought it was gonna use multiple moves from the others... |

| episode title: "reuniting for the first time", and it happened barely 2 minutes. as ash and serena shipper, i'm deeply disappointed. the only clue we had on serena still favouring ash was her long look at the sunset, and silveaon realizing her face that we didn't saw. but then again, this isn't XY writers. it's also coming to the fact that serena looks suddenly all grow up but ash looks much younger than her. though all that, this episode was surprisingly good. chloe and serena interaction were superb. and ash meeting up wallace and start battling was great. i'm not even surprised he beat his team considering it's almost the same team he beat his gym (though for a different leader at the time). only goh was like "ahh, i'm playing pokemon go, i should just chase that altaria that this anime keeping spamming for these two episode". lol |
| It was great seeing Serena again, she seems to have matured a lot too. I do wish their reunion was a bit more than just a quick back and forth before the boat leaves but it was nice regardless. Also we get a quick cameo of May from Wallace remembering her and Dawn. Very fun episode with Ash fooling around and Serena / Chloe having the contest. |
