 The MAPPA Stage 2021: 10th Anniversary event announced an original anime film titled Alice to Therese no Maboroshi Koujou (The Illusion Factory of Alice and Therese) on Sunday. The event also unveiled a teaser visual (pictuted), teaser trailer, and the main staff members.The film will tell the story of boys and girls struggling in an ambiguous world, as they fight their destiny with "love" as the weapon. With Okada directing, it will surely be sprinkled with unbearable melodrama as well. Get ready for a dumpster fire of the year. |

| Yeah, I read the title and really thought Okada was continuing to branch out after the beautiful family oriented story of SayoAsa. As soon as I saw what appeared to be some love triangle melodrama my interest went out the window. Okada never learns. SayoAsa was probably just a fluke of genius in the narrative department, but she did prove just how amazing a director she can be. I may watch Maboroshi after all if only for the directing, good OST, and peak moeblob character designer Ishii. |

| This does look like P.A Works from the background, character designs, and even down to the director. I’m always skeptical of melodramas because most tend to over do it, but I’ll check this out simply based off the trailer. That scream at the end was not pleasant though. |

| The only thing that got me interested in this trailer is world-building which does seem to have some potential, as for the romance or character I can't say there's anything engaging about them, maybe the movie will prove me wrong, but we'll see. |
